Week 10.

WEEK 10 You've found a few new friends this past week, and along with them, a new town to explore. Granted, there doesn't seem to be much, particularly when compared to the cities you started out in; at the same time, the air is fresh with the scent of flowers and honey wafting on the breeze. Along with the usual Pokémon that can be found in populated areas, it seems that several Combees have made their home here - they can be found drifting along idly, seeming no more capable of true emotion than anyone or anything else, but perhaps they're trying their best. It's a little difficult to say; they are still bees, after all. That said, the world continues to change around you, bit by bit; you still have a long way to go before you've saved everyone, but for the time being you should probably recharge, and take some time to sort through what should happen next. Talking to the locals may net you the information that there's something odd about the meadow north of town; perhaps a few of you should go to check it out... It's less a case of appearance and more of behavior. It's not hard to draw out information that a person is entirely out of their element.

[Well, he had inside info on Atsushi of course, but he's speaking in a broad sense.]

...I probably stick out far more than you if we're going by appearance.

Actually, I'm curious...what are those about? If you don't mind me asking.

...They're my ears.

[Judging by his tone, he doesn't seem very fond of the way that was phrased. There's nothing "about" them; to him, they just are.]

A-ah...

[AH...Atsushi seems to realize his mistake the moment the words leave his mouth, and he's quick to attempt to pull his foot back out of it.]

I'm sorry, I d-don't mean to offend or anything! It's just...some people where I'm from have abilities that let them change their appearance so I just...assumed...but I shouldn't have, I apologize.

[That's enough to get Eustace to cool off. His demeanor shifts and the air of calm returns. Apology accepted, it seems.]

It's nothing like that. I'm an Erune- we all have ears like this. [...] Doesn't seem like this place has a population of them. Or other worlds.

[It's a little strange to think about, but not much stranger than everything else going on.]

So, what- do people in your world give themselves ears like this with their abilities?

Well...it's usually a little more than just that. Some people are gifted where I am from...which means they can have all sorts of abilities. Like being able to copy objects from memory, or create illusions...or transform themselves into animals.
