Week 11.

WEEK 11 The meeting with Mars could have gone infinitely worse. It's difficult to say that it went well, admittedly, but at least it didn't go as poorly as it could have; either way, her departure leaves you free to look around the Valley Windworks, and it shouldn't take you long at all to find something interesting on the floor. It's bright yellow and glowing, set into the ground like any other normal part of the floor otherwise; stepping on it will cause the world to spin briefly in your field of vision, and when it straightens itself out again, you find yourself standing in the corner of the lobby of a large building you've never seen before. Welcome to the Jubilife TV station. The place seems staffed with Galactic grunts, but they leave you alone outside of just watching you in that dead-eyed, vaguely unnerving way they have of watching everything; they'll let you leave without a fuss at any rate, and it's probably for the best that you get yourself situated for the time being. After all, you've got an entire new city to get accustomed to. The people here seem to be trying to get themselves situated as well, though obviously that's for entirely different reasons. The world continues to change, around them and you both, and overall things do seem to be going in a direction that might be considered favorable. Noticeably, the grunts in the TV station don't seem to be changing at all, regardless of what happens to the other locals; that might be cause for some concern... That's a start. Did you memorize what's strong against what?

I'm trying to...but it's a little harder than I thought it would be. I've memorized what I think Chazuke is weak to, at least...but otherwise the only ones I can really remember are the Fire, Grass, and Water triangle of weaknesses...thing.

It's all about logic. [Chazuke seems like a good way to bring this up] What kinda things would be dangerous for a bug?

[He doesn't mean types, he means in general]

Fire, birds...and well, rock is a little less obvious, but I can see where it might come from.

[You'd find a bug under a rock, but bugs could also get squished by rocks.]

Exactly. You got the three weaknesses correctly there. [Kiryu nods, approving] The opposite is more difficult to think about, but you should give it a try. What would a bug be unfazed by?

[Knowing what a type is vulnerable against is easy, knowing what it resists is a bit harder because it requires leaps of logic sometimes]

The one thing Atsushi hadn't been thinking about as hard.]

[What do bugs like? What are bugs around all the time...]

That's correct. You're doing good.

[Atsushi sighs, relieved.]

At least I'm learning something. I definitely don't have it all memorized yet, though.

It's a matter of getting used to it. It took me a while to memorize all that, it's only matter of time before you do it.

Yeah, I bet...I guess it gets easier after you meet other Pokemon with different types, yeah?
