Week 11.
WEEK 11 The meeting with Mars could have gone infinitely worse. It's difficult to say that it went well, admittedly, but at least it didn't go as poorly as it could have; either way, her departure leaves you free to look around the Valley Windworks, and it shouldn't take you long at all to find something interesting on the floor. It's bright yellow and glowing, set into the ground like any other normal part of the floor otherwise; stepping on it will cause the world to spin briefly in your field of vision, and when it straightens itself out again, you find yourself standing in the corner of the lobby of a large building you've never seen before. Welcome to the Jubilife TV station. The place seems staffed with Galactic grunts, but they leave you alone outside of just watching you in that dead-eyed, vaguely unnerving way they have of watching everything; they'll let you leave without a fuss at any rate, and it's probably for the best that you get yourself situated for the time being. After all, you've got an entire new city to get accustomed to. The people here seem to be trying to get themselves situated as well, though obviously that's for entirely different reasons. The world continues to change, around them and you both, and overall things do seem to be going in a direction that might be considered favorable. Noticeably, the grunts in the TV station don't seem to be changing at all, regardless of what happens to the other locals; that might be cause for some concern... POKEMON AVAILABLE: WITHIN CITIES SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY | FRIDAY [OOC: Welcome to week eleven of Azume; feel free to make as many top levels as you'd like and tag out to other characters! This post is for all of your interactions this week... at least until the weekend. Don't forget that a write-up is due this weekend!] |

SUNDAY

[Wearing more casual clothes in tones of purple and black, he walked around the city for most of the day led by Hemera as he tried to get a proper layout of their surroundings. He seemed perhaps a little more reticent than usual, lost in thought about either the encounter with Mars, the state of the rest of Team Galactic, or both on top of a dozen other problems. Still, he didn't seem so distracted that he'd ignore anyone that decided to approach him.]

investigation!
Perhaps because he hasn't experienced anything nauseating there, he spends a while hanging out in the TV station where they were dropped. Obviously, he pretty quickly finds his way to the one place he's not allowed to be, on the fourth floor. He's standing in the hallway outside the forbidden room, arms folded, just balefully watching the grunts watch him. While he's not currently attempting to get into the room, it seems like this is probably just because he already tried once or twice.
If he sees anybody else coming, he'll loudly say:]
Hey, there's not much up here. Let's go look around downstairs. [And, as he starts dragging you away, whisper:] Okay, I think we should break into that room. Thoughts?
[Whatever the case, that's probably not something that must be done today. So eventually he'll leave to explore the rest of the city. This is one of the more developed places they've been, and the sight of an actual large city seems really intriguing to him; he flits around between the school and the various tech-looking buildings, before eventually settling on investigating the Global Terminal.
He's released his Pokemon again, and Cat Janet is watching the street while Michael tries the door. Can he get in here to look at those weird big machines?]
tv station
The forbidden room definitely gets his attention, because if the grunts are guarding it, it is absolutely something they want to see.
When Michael catches his attention, he nods agreeable.]
Yeah. Looks that way.
[He did spend decades as a spy, even if he doesn't remember most of it. The training is second nature to him.
It's only when Michael actually whispers to him as they walk away that he nods, replying just as quietly.]
Whatever they're guarding, it's clearly important. If we could get hold of it, we'd probably be able to broadcast to most of the country.

...Well, Camilla winds up feeling herself staring dumbfoundedly at it, looking at just how big it is. It's really not too different from Veilstone, really, but wow. She winds up letting Arion and Eda out in the process as she starts to wander around, before checking her bag to find...]
...Wait, where is that little charm? Did I leave it in Floaroma? I certainly hope I didn't...
[After checking Eda to make sure she didn't swipe it, noting the creature's shockingly pink coat now that they're in the city, Camilla simply decides that she wants to take a look around the city; what she doesn't realize, really, is that the culprit of said spiriting away is a lot closer than she might realize, and follows her as she makes her way around town--from stopping at the Poke Mart, the Pokemon Center, and generally just taking in the sights, the little culprit keeps herself somewhat stealthy as she follows Camilla around.
...Well, about as stealthy as a shockingly yellow balloon can be, but listen, she's trying, okay. Either way, one'll definitely see her around town for most of the day, up until the evening arrives.
That's when she decides to go outside of the city limits a bit and train herself some. Her Pokemon are still out, of course; her whole team is out and generally taking on anything that tries to come out and disturb her, but she's got a giant stick out and appears to be using it like one would use an axe. Camilla doesn't want to let herself get complacent, after all; that fight against Ignis she had is simply proof that she needs to keep improving herself, and that's just what she intends to do, though she won't mind company. Especially if they can fight as brutally as she can.]

His trainer though...he actually doesn't explore the town as much as he wants to today, too distracted by his thoughts about everything that went on with Mars. Unable to shake feeling ashamed of her accusing him of trusting this new group blindly, or trying to talk on things he didn't understand. Despite how peaceful this place had been, he truly never asked to be here in the first place, as had much of the rest he's certain...so it's something that sticks in his craw a bit, bothering him.
He's able to find some distraction from it at the Trainer's School where he ends up spending most of his day, grabbing some of the books to take outside and sit with on the steps to read. Despite these books being clearly written for youngsters, it has a lot of information in it that Atsushi is still spotty on. Battling, type advantages...it's all stuff he pays close attention to and tries to remember. You might also spot him at the PokeMart briefly to buy a pad of paper and a pen to use to write some notes from his studies for himself. He's glad he spent some time working in the flower shop to save up a little spending money, turns out he needed it eventually. Above all he comes to two conclusions: if he wants to be competent as a trainer and able to both protect himself and strengthen the group when the time eventually comes, he's going to need to train with Chazuke and eventually catch another Pokemon.
Who or what that will be might have to come later, though...]

MONDAY
maybe investigation? more like chatting up npcs
Hm. It's a bit strange a city of this size doesn't seem to have a gym. I wonder if it's because there are so many other buildings...?
[Well, in any case, he ends up parking himself in the Trainer's School, looking through the books in case there was anything important he missed and... well, talking to some of the children and the teacher. He's honestly curious, especially since this is basically the only real educational institution he's seen in the entire region so far, and he hasn't heard tell about anything else.
In the evening... well, he's sort of pensively sitting by the fountain behind the Trainer's School, reading the book entitled Lord Kayneth's Encyclopedia of Arcane Secrets he'd gotten a few weeks ago. He'd been kind of trying to ignore its, but... well... he'd been thinking about it a lot lately, and reading it... he's not angry or insulted like he thought he'd be. His furrowed brows suggest confusion more than anything.]

TUESDAY
Investigation...?
Is there, perhaps, a way in...?
Later, Morag and her ever-present trio are nowhere to be found. At first. Because suddenly, a voice can be heard from nearby the fountain:]
Sorcha! Cease that at once!
[Walk around the fountain and you'll find her seated on a bench, Jurgen next to her and Agatha laying in the grass nearby. Sorcha, however, seems to be making a valiant attempt to... climb onto Morag's head?]
You are- [gently shoving her away] -too large for that now!

While his Wimpod is getting healed up, Atsushi tries to talk to the staff to see if there's any possible way that they can give him some more information about his Pokemon. While talking to them seems to be a lot easier than it had been in his early days at Floaroma, things are...clearly still more than a bit difficult. He feels no closer to more answers even by the time Chazuke is all healed and is nibbling on a few berries on the countertop. But while he's there, Atsushi gets another idea that could kill two Murkrow with one stone.
Which is to say, he spends the rest of the day working at the Pokemon Center doing basic tasks like filing and keeping things organized, both to net himself some extra spending money for the road while also maybe figuring out the answers to his questions on his own. He doubts the folk here will mind if he glances over paperwork on certain Pokemon as he alphabetizes it, right? Not that there's a guarantee it'll even help.]

Mostly better by now, but in need to getting new clothes (she will never dispose of her outfit, but she wants a new jacket in particular) she's looking around the city in the morning to confirm if there's a department store here! The streets here are big enough for it so she's actually being followed in her exploration by Bosphoramus, her Onix. So see a petite blonde with a thirty foot rock snake trailing behind her, the both of them looking warily as herds of pink Shellos like they might be up to something as they go? More likely than you think.
That said in the afternoon, Zelda is actually... well. Doing Training? For once. Namely, with her Geodude (noe christened Urbin) and Porygon and Miphanus themselves out, they are on the hunt to battle with some of the wild Pokemon. She always feels bad to do that, even when they do engage as long as they do first. Mostly, their goal here is to attack local Elekids and Chimechos and such, getting some training as they go with the battles! however, as this goes on, Zelda does notice a few oddities. Namely, Miphanus keeps not being able to float that far from the Geodude. And as for Porygon...
Well, that's when she approaches you and- ]
Excuse me, would you be willing to help me test something with one of my Pokemon?
[ Porygon has some sort of weird ability going on here!! Or just has a lot more types than she thought.
But rounding out the day, in the evening, Zelda, looking at her notes and sitting outside of the Pokemon Center at a little table, watches as Saber .... tries to practice swordsmanship. ... With a sword made of banana leafs bound together. ]

It just makes him pretty frustrated.
Later in the day he spends time in the Trainers' School looking through the books. He doesn't seem like he's actually interested in learning how to battle, but he is flipping through the books clearly written for children in mind, looking genuinely cheerful about the contents. It's a shame the school is hardly what you can consider active, though the fact that he offers a sandwich to the teacher and she offers a quiet thank-you probably means something. Even if that something is flirting with the teacher.
For the Pokemon of the group whose trainers are comfortable letting them wander, Flora can be found throughout the day in various places, exploring because it's actually pretty fun. Most of her downtime is spent at the fountain, because it's the only spot in the entire city with any grass. She looks pretty content to be on her own, but not like she doesn't want to be bothered.
She has a little backpack of her own on her, filled with a small assortment of berries, though she doesn't actually have any way of getting them out of the bag herself. Care to help her out?]

Not at all helping the general state of the Emmeryn is Duma, who's been in more of a Mood lately than usual; hence why, in the early afternoon, Emmeryn's usual walk about he city with her team turns into her sweeping her Ralts up into her arms and protectively holding her up near her shoulder like a human toddler while Duma fumes and whines and jumps angrily up and down at Emmeryn's feet.]
No, we are done fighting. Honestly, you—
[Displeased by this, Duma instead squawks and lunges sideways to headbutt poor Latona standing at Emmeryn's side. She still doesn't really have enough of a personality to be more than dimly inconvenienced by being hurt, but Emmeryn gets to fuss enough for the both of them.]
That's enough! [Strict and sharp, suddenly, enough to make Duma recoil shamefully. Emmeryn has mastered the art of the Mom Voice, and Duma huffs and sulks in place while Emmeryn tends to poor, largely indifferent but mildly bruised, Latona.
A little later in the afternoon, after all appropriately dished-out time-outs have been given, Emmeryn takes her team out towards the edges of the city so Duma can maybe headbutt out his frustrations training with the wild Pokémon instead of picking unnecessarily belligerent fights with his sisters. Duma spends long enough not doing anything that Emmeryn crouches to check on him properly and he promptly worms his way into her lap. Emmeryn can't really do anything to keep a hundred pounds of dragonsaur from pushing her into the dirt, so she's just sort of sitting on the ground patting him while he makes the occasional soft whimpering noise.]
Just what has gotten into you, darling?
[Latona and Ralts, at least, are doing a decent enough job of occupying themselves in the meantime, with the latter, straight-faced, sitting on the former's back as if mounting a mighty steed. Latona doesn't yet have enough of a personality to stop this...
When evening comes and Emmeryn settles into the Pokémon Center for the night, Duma takes his usual place in her lap. He's wearing those dumb googly glasses they got back in Floaroma and chewing idly on a...teething ring......like for real human infants........... Sometimes gently whining but otherwise occupied by his, uh, new toy, he's got about all the makings of a cranky toddler too tired to actually throw a tantrum at the moment. Latona and Ralts both curl up at her side, with Ralts half-sat on Latona and occasionally sternly staring over at Duma.
Now that Emmeryn doesn't have to be as aggressively on top of babysitting duty as usual, she gets to make idle conversation with people as they filter into the Pokémon Center.]
Good evening. I suppose we will be heading out again rather soon, hm?

Stanley? ... Where are you?
[He looks around for a bit, before... BOO! Stanley, now a Haunter, suddenly springs out, waving his hands and causing Ari to startle.]
What the... was that really necessary?
[The Pokemon, despite still having to get through some emotional hang ups, seems to be a little amused by their trainer's reaction nonetheless. As such, the Pokemon may attempt to do the same to anyone else that comes by, suddenly startling someone that comes near it.
Once Ari has gotten his ghost back under control, later you'll have Ari approach anyone that he sees out and about with their Pokemon.]

In any case, after that, he begins, well, looking at various Pokemon around the city? He's not sure if there's anything that fits his criteria, since... well, he's trying to figure out something that would be useful for him while he's here, but...]
...hmm. Would she prefer cute or elegant? I'm... not entirely sure... would she even like one of these in the first place...?
[...yeah. It's also for someone else.
But anyway, later on, he finds himself... thinking a bit. Pondering a thing or two. He had an actual conversation with a person native to this place this week, and it's making him wonder about a few things. He's... thinking about something from a rather long time ago.
How is that footprint guy doing? Has he returned to his weird feelings divination yet?
...actually he forgot about that, he needs to try something out... so you can find him near the fountain comparing Huginn's first set of footprints with a set of footprints he took from her today. Huginn's washing her feet off with some water from the fountain, while Kayneth is looking at the two pieces of paper with footprints on them...]

You, uh, wouldn't happen to know what this is, would you? [He's holding out the Shedinja in front of him, studiously trying to avoid looking at its back. Even if the hole's all covered up by the pink ribbon, the feeling it just exudes still unnerves him.
It seems to be unnerving the schoolteacher too - she's making some vague expression of discomfort that doesn't quite encompass her whole face. Like she knows she's supposed to feel uncomfortable, but can't parse why, or what the feeling even is.
Eventually, she answers that she's not familiar with the Pokemon at all, and Sena withdraws it with an apology.]
Um...what about this guy?
[The Abra in his arms gets a more positive reaction. That's a slightly common Pokemon outside Jubilife, after all.]
Does...does it ever actually do anything other than teleport?
[Nope. The answer gets him sighing.] How am I supposed to train him, then...
