Week 11.

WEEK 11

The meeting with Mars could have gone infinitely worse. It's difficult to say that it went well, admittedly, but at least it didn't go as poorly as it could have; either way, her departure leaves you free to look around the Valley Windworks, and it shouldn't take you long at all to find something interesting on the floor.

It's bright yellow and glowing, set into the ground like any other normal part of the floor otherwise; stepping on it will cause the world to spin briefly in your field of vision, and when it straightens itself out again, you find yourself standing in the corner of the lobby of a large building you've never seen before.

Welcome to the Jubilife TV station.

The place seems staffed with Galactic grunts, but they leave you alone outside of just watching you in that dead-eyed, vaguely unnerving way they have of watching everything; they'll let you leave without a fuss at any rate, and it's probably for the best that you get yourself situated for the time being. After all, you've got an entire new city to get accustomed to.

The people here seem to be trying to get themselves situated as well, though obviously that's for entirely different reasons. The world continues to change, around them and you both, and overall things do seem to be going in a direction that might be considered favorable. Noticeably, the grunts in the TV station don't seem to be changing at all, regardless of what happens to the other locals; that might be cause for some concern...

CURRENT LOCATION: JUBILIFE CITY
POKEMON AVAILABLE: WITHIN CITIES

I was pleased that I realized a while ago she wasn't trying to actively eat pokemon or things anymore, simply licking as a greeting... I theorize, based on some other cues, that her species' sense of sight and hearing might be somewhat less developed, and so their primary senses to see the world are taste and smell. So I have been reticent to discourage it, as chaotic as it sometimes can make things.

[ Which she, again, is sorry for. She bows her head after he explanation. Saber, for her part, actually seems to smirk a little at Duma before returning to swinging the sword. ... Did it Smirk? Yes. She Smirk. ]

Truthfully, though, I do not know if the species evolves...

You are always so perceptive, Zelda. I trust your judgment, then, on the habit's necessity. A fair compromise may be to simply offer a warning, [amiably, though, as though she didn't nearly get fuckin full-body licked by this monstrosity,] to help save from startled reactions and the ensuing chaos.

[And you know what else Duma doesn't care for, besides being startled and having to protect trainermom from things?? Smugness. He squawks and hops in place, leaning forward as if making like he's going to headbutt Saber again, but this time Emmeryn catches him.] Duma. We will have you cleaned up soon, I promise.

[Duma squawks again, in a tone closest to but MOOOMMMM she STARTED IIIIT.]

It's becoming so common I suppose I had expected people to know but... yes, perhaps we ought to train you for some greater warning than to simply move, Saber. No?

[ Zelda asks the pink dinosaur, patting her shoulder gentle. Saber is a creature of few words though, and as he looks over at Zelda it makes a noise of agreement before looking down at Duma and ... it says something in terms of a dinosaur burp the humans of course can't understand but Duma will and that's ]

That barely hurt..

[ Shit impish.

But that done, Zelda does actually crouch down to Duma and, ]
Her saliva can in come cases be a paralytic agent though... it doesn't seem Duma is affected, and I have told her to hold off on producing too much if possible when licking people, but it may be better to clean him now than later given he was fully wrapped up.

Oh, dear... Thank you, Zelda, perhaps that is for the best. I suppose I ought to bring him inside—

[But, alas, it's never that easy with Duma, who is figuratively and also kind of literally fuming over that slight.]

I'll show YOU hurt!

[He will not, if Emmeryn has anything to say about it, despite the flame already forming in the corners of his mouth and the smoke snorting out of his nostrils like a goddamn cartoon character. He can't set fires with Emmeryn standing in front of him, though, so that's exactly what she does, hiking her skirt up enough that she can just step up and over her stupid dragonsaur before he just starts setting shit ablaze.]

No more of that! We are done, do you understand?

[If the whining along the translated lines of,] She doesn't get to mess with us, no way, no way, come onnnn! [means anything, the answer is no, he doesn't. Ralts clucks her tongue and adds, flatly, helpfully,] You're BOTH awful.

Oh, I don't know what has gotten into him lately, Zelda, I am so sorry.

No, you needn't apologize. I know that Saber can be a little trying for people. [ And... Pokemon??? She guesses. But Saber, having made the point? She's going back t kendo swings wit her banana-lead-saber. But as for the princess she reaches out for Emmeryn and puts a hand gently on her upper arm. ]

If anything, it's reassuring to see them all so animated.
