Week 11.

WEEK 11 The meeting with Mars could have gone infinitely worse. It's difficult to say that it went well, admittedly, but at least it didn't go as poorly as it could have; either way, her departure leaves you free to look around the Valley Windworks, and it shouldn't take you long at all to find something interesting on the floor. It's bright yellow and glowing, set into the ground like any other normal part of the floor otherwise; stepping on it will cause the world to spin briefly in your field of vision, and when it straightens itself out again, you find yourself standing in the corner of the lobby of a large building you've never seen before. Welcome to the Jubilife TV station. The place seems staffed with Galactic grunts, but they leave you alone outside of just watching you in that dead-eyed, vaguely unnerving way they have of watching everything; they'll let you leave without a fuss at any rate, and it's probably for the best that you get yourself situated for the time being. After all, you've got an entire new city to get accustomed to. The people here seem to be trying to get themselves situated as well, though obviously that's for entirely different reasons. The world continues to change, around them and you both, and overall things do seem to be going in a direction that might be considered favorable. Noticeably, the grunts in the TV station don't seem to be changing at all, regardless of what happens to the other locals; that might be cause for some concern... [Another city to explore and... it actually takes a few days for Morag to take a break from training and poke around a bit. The Pokétch Company building in particular grabs her attention, and she spends a considerable amount of time peering through the windows and searching the outside of the building for an unlocked entrance (even though, let's be real, no one would care if she broke in).

Is there, perhaps, a way in...?

Later, Morag and her ever-present trio are nowhere to be found. At first. Because suddenly, a voice can be heard from nearby the fountain:]

Sorcha! Cease that at once!

[Walk around the fountain and you'll find her seated on a bench, Jurgen next to her and Agatha laying in the grass nearby. Sorcha, however, seems to be making a valiant attempt to... climb onto Morag's head?]

You are- [gently shoving her away] -too large for that now!

[giggle] Kinda like a dog that thinks it's still a puppy, huh?

[ERGH. She's been spotted. This gives Sorcha enough of an opening to climb up on her shoulders.]

This has become rather bothersome.

I'm kinda worried now about what'll happen if Sunflower evolves. Maybe it's a good thing he's so stubborn and not too lovey. Michael said they get huge.

With the correct training, it may be possible to curb such behavior before it even starts.

...I may have not considered that until it was too late.

Guess none of us knew how big he'd get, anyway.

How big did Michael say he was going to get?

[She's skeptical, because Michael.]

Like, bigger than person-sized and also super heavy.

I'm not sure how much stock I would put in that, considering the source.

Yeah, guess Michael's not too reliable, huh? Unless it involves relying on him to mess with people. The ghosts sure love him, though.

[Hey, Morag! Eventually you'll find your unlocked entrance, though weirdly enough it seems to be one of the side entrances as opposed to the front - it seems someone actually had the presence of mind to lock the front, unlike most of the other buildings where it doesn't seem like anyone cared enough. Weird

That said, you can get in, at least. What now?]

[That's a little interesting, but she's not going to complain.

First, let's look for anything that might explain what a "Poketch" is. What did this place make?]

[Judging from some of the display cases that are present toward the far wall of the building, it looks like they made watches of some kind? Very fancy, high-tech watches.

...Though it's likely also noticeable that several of the watches in said display case are missing. Huh.]

[SUSPICIOUS. Is the case still unlocked? She kind of wants a closer look at these gizmos.]

[It is - and it does look unlocked, by the way, the keys are still in it so it's not like anyone broke the case to get in. Are you going to take one to look at, then?]

[An inside job, huh? And she's definitely going to grab one of those watches. What's it do?]

[azumods]

[It's cute and pink and its got a couple of buttons on it that will let you cycle through a few different displays on the screen. One will show you the time, like a watch is supposed to; one has a small map of the region with a little blinking dot presumably depicting your current location, one seems to be a...coin flip app? In the event that you don't have a quarter handy, I guess.

There doesn't seem to be a lot on it otherwise, though.]

[YOU KNOW... nobody's using these... maybe she'll just hang on to it for a little while, just in case. A map is useful, at least.

Aside from the display case, is there anything else in the room of note?]

[oh no... oh goodness...... Emmeryn can't help but be faintly amused but also she thinks about Duma, already too heavy to lift, always finding a seat in her lap and wonders if this is a vision of her own future......]

Oh, dear, but how sweet that she is so fond of you.

[Morag is trying her best to look dignified even as a large fire chicken tries to climb on top of her.]

If I were to hazard a guess, I would say she is more fond of the view from atop my head.

Oh, I'm sure it helps, but surely there are more accessible places to get an overhead view. And yet, here she is.

[It's totally working! it's not working at all.]

Surely there are other ways to show affection?

Certainly, but I think this is the one she has decided on...

[not, again, that emmeryn gets to judge if she wanted to, because—] Do let me know if you figure out the trick to training her out of it, though, as I think I am going to be in rather similar trouble once this one [gesturing with her skirt to Duma, faithfully plodding alongside her as always] evolves.

Of course. I can't say I regret coaxing such fondness out of her, given the circumstances.

It's hard to fault them too heavily for their misbehavior when we have them behaving any way at all now. You're right; I'm glad they have decided on fondness while they all discover themselves.
