Week 11.

WEEK 11 The meeting with Mars could have gone infinitely worse. It's difficult to say that it went well, admittedly, but at least it didn't go as poorly as it could have; either way, her departure leaves you free to look around the Valley Windworks, and it shouldn't take you long at all to find something interesting on the floor. It's bright yellow and glowing, set into the ground like any other normal part of the floor otherwise; stepping on it will cause the world to spin briefly in your field of vision, and when it straightens itself out again, you find yourself standing in the corner of the lobby of a large building you've never seen before. Welcome to the Jubilife TV station. The place seems staffed with Galactic grunts, but they leave you alone outside of just watching you in that dead-eyed, vaguely unnerving way they have of watching everything; they'll let you leave without a fuss at any rate, and it's probably for the best that you get yourself situated for the time being. After all, you've got an entire new city to get accustomed to. The people here seem to be trying to get themselves situated as well, though obviously that's for entirely different reasons. The world continues to change, around them and you both, and overall things do seem to be going in a direction that might be considered favorable. Noticeably, the grunts in the TV station don't seem to be changing at all, regardless of what happens to the other locals; that might be cause for some concern... [Nearly an entire week has gone by, but at least it's enough for Bucky to suddenly start getting used to the place; it's not as big of a city as Veilstone, but it's still enough to make him feel faintly paranoid. Wandering the city is about the only thing he can do, because as interesting as Jubilife is, he can't help feel antsy because of the broadcast station. There's a reason he's avoided the building for most of the week-- as much as he wants to break in there and commandeer the entire room, it's a terrible idea. Especially on his own.

It just makes him pretty frustrated.

Later in the day he spends time in the Trainers' School looking through the books. He doesn't seem like he's actually interested in learning how to battle, but he is flipping through the books clearly written for children in mind, looking genuinely cheerful about the contents. It's a shame the school is hardly what you can consider active, though the fact that he offers a sandwich to the teacher and she offers a quiet thank-you probably means something. Even if that something is flirting with the teacher.

For the Pokemon of the group whose trainers are comfortable letting them wander, Flora can be found throughout the day in various places, exploring because it's actually pretty fun. Most of her downtime is spent at the fountain, because it's the only spot in the entire city with any grass. She looks pretty content to be on her own, but not like she doesn't want to be bothered.

She has a little backpack of her own on her, filled with a small assortment of berries, though she doesn't actually have any way of getting them out of the bag herself. Care to help her out?]

Hey, find something?

[Lemonade pokes her head out from behind Chelsea, wearing a bright pink hat instead of her old yellow one.]

Thought you hated battling.

[semistableman]

I do.

[He tips his head a little, voice lowering.]

Lady who runs this place is by herself half the time, only a few kids come by and they don't seem like any of them are doing much when they're here.

[niceoppai]

So you're gonna help 'em out with learning stuff? Makes sense. Bet they appreciate it.

[semistableman]

Yeah. And make sure she's eating. She's doing better than the people here were initially, but I still feel like I should help out.

[He might be doing this because she's pretty, too.]

[niceoppai]

Yeah, at least people can do stuff for themselves once in a while now. D'you think they notice how feelings just started coming back?

Really, now.

[he knows flirting when he hears it, he's dealt with gladio for years. Even Hemera looked unimpressed, almost seeming to roll her eyes before sitting down nearby where Ignis was leaning on the door frame.]

Not causing too much trouble, are we?

[Ignis doesn't need to be able to see to be capable of telling that Bucky's smile is sheepish.]

She struck me as a little lonely is all. I've never seen more'n three kids go into the school at once.

[She might not be there enough to appreciate, or not appreciate, the flirting, but at least she presumably is grateful for the food he's been giving her.]

[Ignis sighed and shook his head, though the smile on his own face was amused at the absolute worst.]

I'm sure that's all it was.

What can I say? I have a weakness for pretty women.

[I mean he has a boyfriend. Maybe. Kinda.

But there's nothing wrong with giving a cute lady who is trying to run a school by herself lunch.]

[listen, some people are just cute. it happens.]

A simply terrible weakness to have, no doubt.

Flora

[ Miphanus is almost always found following Zelda, but in this case the Metang is out around the town because she's been focusing a little bit more on training the Geodude and Porygon of her team. And while they could just hang out in the ball or with Saber, they instead have decided to just sort of explore little mysterious things around the town.

Or well, "mysterious"

In this case it's floating over the fountain's water and reaching in to collect some coins in here!! Huh!! ]

[semistableman]

[Flora looks up when she sees Miphanus floating towards the fountain, climbing up so she can just barely see over the edge when standing upright on her back legs.]

What are you doing?

[hyruglyphics]

These strange metal objects have been left in the fountain, I want to deduce why!

[ . . . It's a nerd. But it says this with some animated beeps. ]

[semistableman]

[Being a nerd is perfectly fine! Flora just looks at the little metal objects curiously.]

I think I've seen my friend carrying some of them before! But I don't know what they're for.

[hyruglyphics]

[ In the weird vice claws of the Metang it grabs more, setting them on the edge of the fountain as carefully as possible. ]

Zelda's had some of them before now too.

Flora

[Well, Flora might be allowed to wander unsupervised...but Atsushi doesn't even know that Chazuke had slipped away while he was busy studying some of his type-advantage notes, having scuttled off a little too far into the grass before getting himself lost. It only stands to reason that he hurries towards Flora the moment he sees her, getting up beneath her legs as if to hide from some unknown danger he hasn't actually run into yet.

At least Atsushi will probably come looking for him soon.]

[She's probably seen him before, but hasn't been properly introduced. Then again, she hasn't been properly introduced to most of the Pokemon that make up the group.

She looks down at him curiously.]

Hello! What are you doing?

[She might be pretty okay off by herself, but she's not going to be rude when someone is hiding under her.]

[gekkaju]

I...I was just looking around and now I don't know where I am.

[He replies, curling in on himself a little as he keeps his eyes on the grass in front of Flora's hooves, like a bird might pop out and try to carry him off if he isn't careful.]

[Flora's friend is incredibly protective of her. She might still be trying to figure things out, but she knows that Bucky would want her to protect her friends. So protect she will.]

You're in the center of the city! You're right next to the fountain, it's very pretty.

[gekkaju]

A fountain?

[Chazuke looks up, realizing that he'd managed to wander quite far from the Pokemon Center where Atsushi had been before.]

I need to get back to the orange building, I think...

Flora

[Luckily for Flora, here is Jane Doe! She has hands!]

...have you seen other ghosts?

[Flora brightens when she sees Jane Doe. She knows you, you helped her cross the frozen lake!]

Not today. I saw a Misdreavus yesterday! But he wasn't very talkative.

[eudaimonikos]

Oh. Yes. They aren't.

[Jane Doe may not have fully grown her concern back yet, but by gosh is she making an effort at that.]

My trainer likes to talk to ghosts. But there's a lot here. I don't think we've seen them all.

[semistableman]

[That's okay, Jane Doe. She can tell you're trying!]

I don't think so, either.

Maybe everybody is hiding.
