Week 11.

WEEK 11 The meeting with Mars could have gone infinitely worse. It's difficult to say that it went well, admittedly, but at least it didn't go as poorly as it could have; either way, her departure leaves you free to look around the Valley Windworks, and it shouldn't take you long at all to find something interesting on the floor. It's bright yellow and glowing, set into the ground like any other normal part of the floor otherwise; stepping on it will cause the world to spin briefly in your field of vision, and when it straightens itself out again, you find yourself standing in the corner of the lobby of a large building you've never seen before. Welcome to the Jubilife TV station. The place seems staffed with Galactic grunts, but they leave you alone outside of just watching you in that dead-eyed, vaguely unnerving way they have of watching everything; they'll let you leave without a fuss at any rate, and it's probably for the best that you get yourself situated for the time being. After all, you've got an entire new city to get accustomed to. The people here seem to be trying to get themselves situated as well, though obviously that's for entirely different reasons. The world continues to change, around them and you both, and overall things do seem to be going in a direction that might be considered favorable. Noticeably, the grunts in the TV station don't seem to be changing at all, regardless of what happens to the other locals; that might be cause for some concern... [Lemonade pokes her head out from behind Chelsea, wearing a bright pink hat instead of her old yellow one.]

Thought you hated battling.

I do.

[He tips his head a little, voice lowering.]

Lady who runs this place is by herself half the time, only a few kids come by and they don't seem like any of them are doing much when they're here.

[niceoppai]

So you're gonna help 'em out with learning stuff? Makes sense. Bet they appreciate it.

[semistableman]

Yeah. And make sure she's eating. She's doing better than the people here were initially, but I still feel like I should help out.

[He might be doing this because she's pretty, too.]

[niceoppai]

Yeah, at least people can do stuff for themselves once in a while now. D'you think they notice how feelings just started coming back?

[semistableman]

Honestly? Probably.

Though I doubt they could express that, exactly. It seems like whatever we're doing is helping Pokemon, and Pokemon close to us, more than anyone else right now.

[niceoppai]

You think it's 'cause Pokémon are closer to nature?

[semistableman]

Nah.

[He shakes his head. Saturn and Cynthia both have convinced him the belief that Pokemon and humans being the same is important here, even if Galactic flaunts their blasphemy happily.]

I figure it's more that we're close to them. The ones we started out with were the first ones to start recovering.

Huh... Yeah, and people are getting more person-y when we talk to 'em enough, too. But are we enough?

[semistableman]

Probably not. That's why we need to get gods on our side. No other way, more than likely.

[niceoppai]

Yeah... I'm kinda impressed at how far we've gotten with just talking, though.

[semistableman]

So am I.

The people I'm used to aren't much for conversation.

[niceoppai]

I mean, you do seem to be pretty good with animals. They don't talk. But I'm pretty sure that's not what you mean.

[semistableman]

[He shakes his head.]

No. I meant the people who held me captive for seventy years.

[niceoppai]

You've been through a lot. No wonder you just want a peaceful life. I do, and I haven't had nearly as much time running from people who want to kill me.

[semistableman]

They're a lot like Galactic, down to the self-righteous saving the world by killing innocents act.

[niceoppai]

I almost miss the people who were just after money or revenge.

[semistableman]

Revenge isn't any better than the people on power trips.

I've never dealt with people just after making money; that sort of corruption seems quaint compared to the shit I've seen.

[niceoppai]

Lot of stuff in your life is kinda out there, huh?

[semistableman]

I've just seen a lot.

[He shrugs.]

[niceoppai]

Kinda the same thing.

[semistableman]

Maybe.

I wouldn't know; there's always something stranger out there.
