Week 11.
WEEK 11 The meeting with Mars could have gone infinitely worse. It's difficult to say that it went well, admittedly, but at least it didn't go as poorly as it could have; either way, her departure leaves you free to look around the Valley Windworks, and it shouldn't take you long at all to find something interesting on the floor. It's bright yellow and glowing, set into the ground like any other normal part of the floor otherwise; stepping on it will cause the world to spin briefly in your field of vision, and when it straightens itself out again, you find yourself standing in the corner of the lobby of a large building you've never seen before. Welcome to the Jubilife TV station. The place seems staffed with Galactic grunts, but they leave you alone outside of just watching you in that dead-eyed, vaguely unnerving way they have of watching everything; they'll let you leave without a fuss at any rate, and it's probably for the best that you get yourself situated for the time being. After all, you've got an entire new city to get accustomed to. The people here seem to be trying to get themselves situated as well, though obviously that's for entirely different reasons. The world continues to change, around them and you both, and overall things do seem to be going in a direction that might be considered favorable. Noticeably, the grunts in the TV station don't seem to be changing at all, regardless of what happens to the other locals; that might be cause for some concern... POKEMON AVAILABLE: WITHIN CITIES SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY | FRIDAY [OOC: Welcome to week eleven of Azume; feel free to make as many top levels as you'd like and tag out to other characters! This post is for all of your interactions this week... at least until the weekend. Don't forget that a write-up is due this weekend!] |

investigation!
Perhaps because he hasn't experienced anything nauseating there, he spends a while hanging out in the TV station where they were dropped. Obviously, he pretty quickly finds his way to the one place he's not allowed to be, on the fourth floor. He's standing in the hallway outside the forbidden room, arms folded, just balefully watching the grunts watch him. While he's not currently attempting to get into the room, it seems like this is probably just because he already tried once or twice.
If he sees anybody else coming, he'll loudly say:]
Hey, there's not much up here. Let's go look around downstairs. [And, as he starts dragging you away, whisper:] Okay, I think we should break into that room. Thoughts?
[Whatever the case, that's probably not something that must be done today. So eventually he'll leave to explore the rest of the city. This is one of the more developed places they've been, and the sight of an actual large city seems really intriguing to him; he flits around between the school and the various tech-looking buildings, before eventually settling on investigating the Global Terminal.
He's released his Pokemon again, and Cat Janet is watching the street while Michael tries the door. Can he get in here to look at those weird big machines?]
tv station
The forbidden room definitely gets his attention, because if the grunts are guarding it, it is absolutely something they want to see.
When Michael catches his attention, he nods agreeable.]
Yeah. Looks that way.
[He did spend decades as a spy, even if he doesn't remember most of it. The training is second nature to him.
It's only when Michael actually whispers to him as they walk away that he nods, replying just as quietly.]
Whatever they're guarding, it's clearly important. If we could get hold of it, we'd probably be able to broadcast to most of the country.
no subject
[fuck health and wellness!]
I'm sure we can figure out how to broadcast something subversive, if we get in there.
no subject
Problem is, I don't know who among us should be the one doing the broadcasting. This is one of those things where we'll probably only get one chance.
I'd say alerting anyone like us to our presence might be worth the risk at this point-- Cyrus is bound to be pissed at this point, and I don't want to go looking for that ex-follower of his.
no subject
[He understands that people may not totally trust him in front of a camera, but honestly if they did work out an agreed-upon script, he's willing to stick to that.]
Between Flurrie and Atsushi, it seems very possible that there's more of us just scattered across the country, in hiding. I'm sure they'd appreciate any message we could get to them. And Cyrus clearly knows we're here anyhow - all of the Commanders have known, I'm sure they didn't keep it to themselves.
Do you think we'd be able to recognize that ex-follower, if we found him? Might just be dressed up like one of the regular peons again.
no subject
[Bucky's a mess, he sure as hell doesn't think he should be the one reading the script.
But he's smiling when he says it, even if it's a little awkward. At least he's capable of making fun of himself.]
But we do need to make sure any others out there know we exist. I guess assuming they have access to a television is taking a chance, but we shouldn't back down from the opportunity.
[At the question, he frowns.]
Honestly? I don't know.
[He shrugs, frowning.]
I guess if we meet some guy calling himself Mercury or Neptune, we'll know it's probably the fourth member of the team.
What kind of guy do you think he is, to be rejected by a bunch of cultists? Figure he either had the most sense out of all of 'em, or was somehow worse.
no subject
[Would he have anything useful? Who knows, still interesting]
We'll have to take out all the guards, to get in there. I'm assuming we don't really want to physically fight them.
no subject
[At the comment about fighting them physically, though, he raises his brows.]
I don't have a problem with that.
[But for some reason, people in the group are pretty opposed to using non-lethal violence, so...]
If people are going to be doing battling, they should probably start training now. If this is as important a location as it looks, they're not going to be up against push-overs.
no subject
[That had seemed like the moral sticking point to him - the Commanders are one thing, but attacking a bunch of poor schmucks like Maylene seems like it ought to be wrong somewhere. He doesn't have a citation for it, though, and his own instincts aren't always to be trusted in these things.]
I'm not really suggesting we take them on in a fair Pokemon battle. There's a wide range of options.
no subject
[That's said resolutely.]
I don't like doing it, but if I have to, then I have to. The grunts have one thing going for them, and that's that they likely don't have guns.
[He shrugs, a little, like he's trying to remind himself that violence as a defense mechanism isn't a thing most people have.]
Even if they're just doing their jobs-- or are just as brainwashed as I used to be, I'm not used to going up against people interested in capturing me alive. It won't be easy be easy with one arm, but I've always avoided fighting with my left hand as it is.

tv station;
Ventus will just...kind of whisper back: ]
We'll probably need to find the right key, I think. I could probably get Aurora to quickly steal one or something if someone has it out in the open.
[ Would they be that lucky, he wonders...? ]
no subject
[He's not actually sure if the room is locked or not? Didn't get that far.]
Not physically, I imagine. That would be wrong?
no subject
[ He totally assumed the door is locked, but nope definitely didn't get that far either. ]
We could try the trick of 'there's a noise over here' but maybe they won't fall for it...?
no subject
[Hmmmm...]
A couple of my Pokemon can put other Pokemon to sleep. I've never tested to see if it works on humans.
no subject
[ He considers the thought himself. ]
I think that's something Munna can do too. Maybe it'll be effective on other people if it's more than one Pokemon trying it...?
no subject
But we should test it first - starting with one-on-one and working from there. I don't want to go in without knowing it works.
no subject
[ ... they're probably still nearby those two grunts, even though there's some distance between them. ]
...If we're starting with just one though, we're going to probably need to not try one of them at the door, right? As just in case it doesn't work, there won't be too much trouble.
Like, grabbing someone who's sort of doing rounds by themselves, I mean.
no subject
[.............]
Yeah...yeah, we can do that. [This is the reaction of somebody who was actually talking about trying it on you and apparently didn't make that clear. But heck, that works.]
no subject
[ THAT... definitely went over his head, for sure.
Well, Ventus probably wouldn't have much issue with it even if he did catch it, because it's just a harmless sleep move. Surely nothing can go wrong. ]
...By the way, did I surprise you with the idea?
[ He smiles for a moment, taking it to mean maybe it meant he came up with such a good idea! But he'll be also kind of beginning to move in preparation of scoping out a solitary grunt. ]

That said, there's something set up in the middle of the room - it looks like a globe of some sort for display purposes, though it isn't spinning and the countries and continents displayed look...weird, when compared to Earth's.
There are also a few other things more off to the side; they look like cabinets housing some sort of machinery or computer, it's kind of an aggressively late-90s computer setup from the look of it. There are a few of them over there, looks like.]
no subject
Is there a monitor or anything that could provide a user interface for this thing and/or set of things?]

Don't think he won't.]
