Week 11.
WEEK 11 The meeting with Mars could have gone infinitely worse. It's difficult to say that it went well, admittedly, but at least it didn't go as poorly as it could have; either way, her departure leaves you free to look around the Valley Windworks, and it shouldn't take you long at all to find something interesting on the floor. It's bright yellow and glowing, set into the ground like any other normal part of the floor otherwise; stepping on it will cause the world to spin briefly in your field of vision, and when it straightens itself out again, you find yourself standing in the corner of the lobby of a large building you've never seen before. Welcome to the Jubilife TV station. The place seems staffed with Galactic grunts, but they leave you alone outside of just watching you in that dead-eyed, vaguely unnerving way they have of watching everything; they'll let you leave without a fuss at any rate, and it's probably for the best that you get yourself situated for the time being. After all, you've got an entire new city to get accustomed to. The people here seem to be trying to get themselves situated as well, though obviously that's for entirely different reasons. The world continues to change, around them and you both, and overall things do seem to be going in a direction that might be considered favorable. Noticeably, the grunts in the TV station don't seem to be changing at all, regardless of what happens to the other locals; that might be cause for some concern... POKEMON AVAILABLE: WITHIN CITIES SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY | FRIDAY [OOC: Welcome to week eleven of Azume; feel free to make as many top levels as you'd like and tag out to other characters! This post is for all of your interactions this week... at least until the weekend. Don't forget that a write-up is due this weekend!] |

In any case, after that, he begins, well, looking at various Pokemon around the city? He's not sure if there's anything that fits his criteria, since... well, he's trying to figure out something that would be useful for him while he's here, but...]
...hmm. Would she prefer cute or elegant? I'm... not entirely sure... would she even like one of these in the first place...?
[...yeah. It's also for someone else.
But anyway, later on, he finds himself... thinking a bit. Pondering a thing or two. He had an actual conversation with a person native to this place this week, and it's making him wonder about a few things. He's... thinking about something from a rather long time ago.
How is that footprint guy doing? Has he returned to his weird feelings divination yet?
...actually he forgot about that, he needs to try something out... so you can find him near the fountain comparing Huginn's first set of footprints with a set of footprints he took from her today. Huginn's washing her feet off with some water from the fountain, while Kayneth is looking at the two pieces of paper with footprints on them...]
...
I still have absolutely no idea how he managed this.
Around
[As expected when you're talking loudly to yourself, someone overheard you. Hi, Kayneth, what's up?]

[GOD... DOES HE WANNA TALK ABOUT IT... HE'S NOT SURE IF HE WANTS TO TALK ABOUT IT...
...
okay he wants to talk about it maybe if he gets some advice things won't be as bad]
Well... I was thinking that since I can only catch one more Pokemon, it might be nice to get a Pokemon that my fiancee will like when I get home...

Wouldn't a Pokemon be considered odd back at your home? There are very few that look like normal animals.

In that case most species should be a good option -- as long as it's not too destructive. Them getting used to a Pokemon won't matter much if it burns down everything by accident.

What does she like?
no subject
...
Erm. Shopping?
[.....OH GOD THAT SOUNDS SO BAD UH]
It's just... I'm never really sure. Even when I ask, it's a little difficult to get a bead on what she likes...
no subject
Okay, then let's see...what makes her happy?

hello darkness my old friend]
Well, erm.
[i've come to talk to you again and so he kind of mumbles]
...Irish heroes, I guess.
[is this even fucking worth it.]

[There's no Irish Hero Pokemon either, welp]

The more I think about it, the more I wonder if I should even bother.

Fountain
[Michael, for his part, appears to have been out taking donations for the JDF. Sounds like there's money in the box.]

I met a man several weeks ago back near Pastoria who said he used to be able to divine Pokemon's feelings from their footprints. I thought I'd see if I could accomplish it myself once my Pokemon that actually had feet started showing more emotion, but I have no idea what I'm supposed to be looking for.

...they're not capable of bullshitting now, but are you sure he wasn't just describing a past con?
no subject
I'm not entirely sure, honestly, but I feel like if he brought it up under these circumstances he'd have to have believed it to some degree. I've heard some people here have some degree of psychic powers, so it's possible he had some of those...
no subject
[From his smile, that seems to be a joke? Michael picks up one of the footprint papers, looking at it and then the other.]
Which one's the old one?
no subject
...anyway, it's this one.
[He points to the left one, which indeed is a lot drier and looks as though it's been folded up.]
no subject
[He nods contemplatively.]
You can tell. The stride length on this one exudes a vigor that's completely absent in the other one. And you see these flecks of ink, here and here? [He points on the new one.] That shows a real zest for life - a spring in the step.

So, do you believe what you're saying, then?

[He lays the newest paper down, spreading it out with both hands.]
Now, see the angle of the claws, here? That indicates open-mindedness, a willingness to accept change. The point of the claws themselves speak to vitality - this Pokemon is going to live a long and healthy life. Looking ahead - there may be some adversity in the near future, but if she remains steadfast and sticks with her friends, she'll be fine.
[.....]
Also, there's a tall, dark bird in her future.

Why are you trying to make money off donations when you could just do this.
