Week 11.

WEEK 11 The meeting with Mars could have gone infinitely worse. It's difficult to say that it went well, admittedly, but at least it didn't go as poorly as it could have; either way, her departure leaves you free to look around the Valley Windworks, and it shouldn't take you long at all to find something interesting on the floor. It's bright yellow and glowing, set into the ground like any other normal part of the floor otherwise; stepping on it will cause the world to spin briefly in your field of vision, and when it straightens itself out again, you find yourself standing in the corner of the lobby of a large building you've never seen before. Welcome to the Jubilife TV station. The place seems staffed with Galactic grunts, but they leave you alone outside of just watching you in that dead-eyed, vaguely unnerving way they have of watching everything; they'll let you leave without a fuss at any rate, and it's probably for the best that you get yourself situated for the time being. After all, you've got an entire new city to get accustomed to. The people here seem to be trying to get themselves situated as well, though obviously that's for entirely different reasons. The world continues to change, around them and you both, and overall things do seem to be going in a direction that might be considered favorable. Noticeably, the grunts in the TV station don't seem to be changing at all, regardless of what happens to the other locals; that might be cause for some concern... I guess so...unless the planet is made of something else. Like just gas, or something.

[But obviously you wouldn't call that earth.]

Yeah, there's a ton of those. Usually not inhabited, though, or if they are, it's by colonies built around 'em.

[Hm. It's interesting she'd say that specifically.]

So there are like...multiple colonizes planets in your world?

[niceoppai]

Yeah, a whole galaxy's worth. Kinda weird to me that it's not the same for everybody else.

[gekkaju]

I think people have been entertaining colonizing the moon someday, or mars...but the only planet with people on it that we know of is earth. Space travel hasn't gotten that advanced yet.

Sounds like what a bunch of the others said, too. It feels totally off being the odd one out on this. Guess at least travel's gotta be fast for you, less ground to cover.

Well yeah, there is that at least...I mean, I'd never been outside of Japan back home. There's a whole lot of world I haven't seen before.

[And he's not entirely sure he'll ever see it? Which is a bit sad, but...he's fortunate to be alive still if nothing else.]

...We'll get back to our homes. I mean, Team Galactic has the stuff they brought us here with, right?

I guess they still do. It just seems weird to me because Mars gave off the impression that we aren't supposed to be here at all...or I guess maybe she just expected us not to be able to talk back once we got here.

She gave off a lot of impressions. I still gotta wonder where the executives are disappearing to... There's supposed to be just those three, plus a fourth who quit when it got too real.

[gekkaju]

A fourth quit? What, he just...ended up leaving?

[Or, disappearing he supposes, if they want to use the same term.]

No clue. We haven't seen 'im, only heard he existed. He could be anywhere by now.

[gekkaju]

Wow. That's...kindof a mystery then, I guess.

[He must still be out there, somewhere...]

I wonder if he knows about us.
