Week 13.
WEEK 13 The trip to Celestic Town is an unconventional one, though it's infinitely faster than walking and doesn't leave everyone feeling woozy in the same way that teleportation does. The town itself is a small one, though it's scenic, and there's a sort of beauty to it that's very rustic in nature; it's surrounded on both sides by mountainous routes that you're welcome to go on to both the west and the east, though it wouldn't be recommended that you venture too far out, seeing as they can be on the dangerous side for those who are unfamiliar with them. It seems Cynthia was right about one thing - there was certainly an incident at Lake Verity that went off almost as soon as you left, another of those deep pulses echoing through the surrounding area; it seems that whatever Mesprit did can be felt by the region as a whole, given that Celestic Town and the surrounding areas seem to have been affected as well despite being so far east of the lake. Cynthia herself can be found throughout the town for the duration, should anyone want to speak to her. Sometimes when left to her own devices, she can be seen in the company of a little girl who looks very similar to herself; sometimes she's with a pair of people much older. Either way, the family resemblance is strong. Lucas is here as well; he's still willing to speak to anyone that wants to, though he seems a bit subdued. Either way, it's been a long, harrowing trip so far; hopefully spending some time here will help to rejuvenate you. POKEMON AVAILABLE: WITHIN CITIES SURROUNDING ROUTES: MOUNTAINS/ELEVATED AREAS SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY | FRIDAY [OOC: Welcome to week thirteen of Azume; feel free to make as many top levels as you'd like and tag out to other characters! You're gonna embarrass the fuck out of me, aren't you.
no subject
I suppose that depends on what you define as embarrassing, now doesn't it?
[he can't see it, but oh boy does she have a smirk on her face right now]

Go ahead. Let's get this shit over with.
1/2
...Finds that she can't really start like that? For all of her smugness and joking, it actually takes her a bit to actually say anything, and by the time she starts, it's...surprisingly, pretty genuine in tone.]
...Truth be told, it's rather simple; you remind me of myself, in some ways. Perhaps it's presumptuous to say, but...we're both the sort of people who seem to come alive when the situation is dire, and we're left with nothing but what we've learned to stay alive. Being in this situation where there's no use for combat, when you're explicitly ordered to not kill anything that deserves to be killed but being too weak to do so...it's demoralizing, more than anyone here could realize.
It's not just that, of course. It's the things you've told me, as well, about how you've dealt with such terrible conditions... [This is probably the point where her eyes avert to the point of no return.] It makes me want the future to be brighter for you, so that you have something more than the hideous lot you've been given in life. So that you have something that's simply...yours, really, and has nothing to do with that father of yours? Something you can be proud of, and happy with. I certainly have no godly idea of what I can do, really, but I can't simply stand idly by while you try to avoid your problems as if you're some unaffected pillar. It'd be like letting one of my siblings down, and it's--
2/2
You know, that goddamn S word just feels like it makes everything click in her head in a way that almost makes her embarrassed, which wasn't the endgoal of this at all, she's just gonna try to double back from that--]
It's simply as I said earlier; I can't stand the idea of anyone being alone. Perhaps it's simply that I have a habit of wanting to help people with their problems.
[...Convincing.]

You trying to be my sister now too, Camilla?
[That's. You know, it's actually not as pointed as it could have been, nor does it sound like he's mocking her? Just sort of throwing it out there because what the fuck does he say to that, really.]
no subject
She hates her life, in some ways. This is fucking stupid. What does she even say to that. She's just kind of placing a hand in front of her face.]
What kind of question is that? Really?
[She just sounds exasperated, hang on.]

[...she huffs just a bit, seeming to just kind of. Mull that over?
...]
...I suppose I wouldn't say no?
no subject
Well...yeah? I mean, I guess that makes both of us?
no subject
Well, I suppose it does?
[Camilla was not expecting to be thrown off like this, holy shit. That exasperated look just kind of fades off and she seems kind of openly stunned?]
...If you're quite certain, of course, I wouldn't mind.
[...It's probably obvious but she's. Still processing this.]

It's a lot, and he's not altogether sure how he feels about it because his track record with family is total shit, but- ]
You want me to have something that's mine, yeah? Something I can be proud of and...happy with, I guess.
Sounds like a good thing to me.

You know, she did not expect that, she actually seems taken aback by that for just a moment. Mostly at that first bit because she did not expect that to get turned back on her? She was just talking like...a good life for himself, but like...it's good?
...It's good.
It's good and by the time Camilla finds it in her to respond, she's smiling warmly and just really, really complimented by that? She's not crying, or anything (thank the gods) but man if she isn't just jazzed as hell--]
...If that's the case, I would be delighted. Though you'll have to realize that you'll be stuck with a big sister who worries.
