Week 13.

WEEK 13 The trip to Celestic Town is an unconventional one, though it's infinitely faster than walking and doesn't leave everyone feeling woozy in the same way that teleportation does. The town itself is a small one, though it's scenic, and there's a sort of beauty to it that's very rustic in nature; it's surrounded on both sides by mountainous routes that you're welcome to go on to both the west and the east, though it wouldn't be recommended that you venture too far out, seeing as they can be on the dangerous side for those who are unfamiliar with them. It seems Cynthia was right about one thing - there was certainly an incident at Lake Verity that went off almost as soon as you left, another of those deep pulses echoing through the surrounding area; it seems that whatever Mesprit did can be felt by the region as a whole, given that Celestic Town and the surrounding areas seem to have been affected as well despite being so far east of the lake. Cynthia herself can be found throughout the town for the duration, should anyone want to speak to her. Sometimes when left to her own devices, she can be seen in the company of a little girl who looks very similar to herself; sometimes she's with a pair of people much older. Either way, the family resemblance is strong. Lucas is here as well; he's still willing to speak to anyone that wants to, though he seems a bit subdued. Either way, it's been a long, harrowing trip so far; hopefully spending some time here will help to rejuvenate you. [Tuesday...is a bit of a stressful day for Atsushi. For more reasons than one...

In the Morning, if you're out and about in pretty much any part of the town (even the routes because this Pokemon is on a mission), you might hear a soft jingling bell that increases in ferocity and pitch as it comes at you...and gets closer...and closer...

Turns out that the bell belongs to the collar Natto the Stunky, who is decidedly not with her trainer today. The normally brash Pokemon is very chipper and eager to be all up in everyone's business today, including yours! Much like a large smelly cat, you might find her rubbing on your legs for attention, or possibly playfully bounding up to your Pokemon and batting at them lightly with her paws to see if it will encourage them to battle her. She doesn't seem to intend actual harm, she's just a bit too excited and overflowing with FEELINGS and doesn't know what to do with herself...and Atsushi is nowhere to be found. He might like her back, or your Pokemon might like to play instead?

In the Afternoon, Atsushi will catch the sleeve of anyone he can, out of breath with Chazuke clinging to the back of his shirt like a depressed backpack.]

Have...have you seen Natto anywhere? She's uh- a purple...skunk-cat thing...she ran off this morning and I haven't been able to catch up...

[Emmeryn's got a pretty solid idea of whose Pokémon is whose, generally, but Natto is a new enough addition that she doesn't recognize her on sight. Given the bell, she has to belong to someone, but...

Okay, well, the weird skunk rubbing her gross scent all over Emmeryn's skirt isn't making it especially easy to focus. Audhulma watches on with Latona, whose head she's perched upon.]

Well, hello, sweet darling. Wherever have you come from?

[Duma toddles out from behind Emmeryn's legs to investigate. His shell hides whatever nose he may or may not have too deeply for the smell to distract him. Is this a friend? Maybe this small bushy furry thing won't knock him over?]

[gekkaju]

[This is a friend! A friend that's definitely too small and isn't strong enough to push Duma very far at all, so he's fortunate there. Natto continues to jingle excitedly as all of Emmeryn's Pokemon wander over with her to investigate.

She decides to wind around her legs a time or two more before bounding over to Duma, who is the closest, reaching up with both of her paws to pap them onto his shell.]

[Vee wasn't very big either but she knocked him over just fine!!! actually that one was as much duma's fault as anyone's but shhh

regardless, the problem with Being Duma is that he's all orb and can't react to being papped by doing much else besides...stepping forward and touching his entire face-front area to Natto's face? Some kind of muffled squawk, a friendly noise, sounds from inside the shell.

So long as they're getting along, Emmeryn takes a step back and lets them play. She'll, uh, formulate a plan to get this li'l stinky darling back where she belongs in some moments.]

[It's a good thing that Natto is distracted by playing, because it gives Atsushi a chance- wherever he is- to catch up to her. While Emmeryn watches the Pokemon play, she might hear the boy calling out for her a ways away, to which the Stunky seems perfectly content to ignore.]

[hhhhuh. that doesn't sound great.

before she goes and makes an ass of herself yelling across the city, though, Emmeryn crouches a little to get Natto's attention while she's likely preoccupied with Duma just sort of allowing her to do what he wants with his entire orb self.]

Natto? Is that your name, love, Natto?

[skunks basically work like dogs probably? she'll respond if that sounds familiar???]

[Almost immediately upon the name being said, the Stunky looks up at Emmeryn, as if shocked to hear her name coming from someone she doesn't know. Seems like her guess was correct. She was in the middle of trying to climb up onto Duma's back, looks like.]

[divinedescendant]

[Duma has gone impressively still, because the last time a tiny furry thing crawled up onto his back it ended with him stuck with his limbs in the air like a goddamn turtle and he is not doing that shit again—but Emmeryn just scratches Natto under the chin fondly before she stands back up.]

Atsushi! [She cups one hand around her mouth and holds up the other to wave him over. Come collect your dumb skunk!!]

[gekkaju]

[Atsushi looks over when he hears Emmeryn call out for him, and what does he see?]

Natto!

[He comes rushing over, looking more frustrated now than frantic, but also clearly relieved that she didn't get lost in the woods or something.]

What are you doing over here? I've been looking for you everywhere, I know you heard me calling...I hope she wasn't causing you guys trouble, Emmeryn.

Oh, no, not at all. She was having a wonderful time playing with Duma, and she is such a sweet little thing.

[How wonderful Duma's time was is debatable, but he does squawk a little, the noise muffled from inside his shell, when he hears his name, and it isn't even a wailing cry for help.]

I am glad we could keep her busy for you before she could get too far.

[Sweet, huh...that has Atsushi raising an eyebrow, but he decides not to question it as he plucks Natto off of Duma's back, holding her like a sack of potatoes in his arms. She squirms a little, not ready to be taken away from her playmate just yet.]

She's been...really wily today, more than normal. I don't know what's gotten into her.
