Week 13.
WEEK 13 The trip to Celestic Town is an unconventional one, though it's infinitely faster than walking and doesn't leave everyone feeling woozy in the same way that teleportation does. The town itself is a small one, though it's scenic, and there's a sort of beauty to it that's very rustic in nature; it's surrounded on both sides by mountainous routes that you're welcome to go on to both the west and the east, though it wouldn't be recommended that you venture too far out, seeing as they can be on the dangerous side for those who are unfamiliar with them. It seems Cynthia was right about one thing - there was certainly an incident at Lake Verity that went off almost as soon as you left, another of those deep pulses echoing through the surrounding area; it seems that whatever Mesprit did can be felt by the region as a whole, given that Celestic Town and the surrounding areas seem to have been affected as well despite being so far east of the lake. Cynthia herself can be found throughout the town for the duration, should anyone want to speak to her. Sometimes when left to her own devices, she can be seen in the company of a little girl who looks very similar to herself; sometimes she's with a pair of people much older. Either way, the family resemblance is strong. Lucas is here as well; he's still willing to speak to anyone that wants to, though he seems a bit subdued. Either way, it's been a long, harrowing trip so far; hopefully spending some time here will help to rejuvenate you. and the thing is. Audhulma is all about using Duma as a chair. this isn't entirely new. but Vee isn't Audhulma and the thing Duma does to deal with this is roll right over onto his side in what is just as much an attempt to get Vee off of him as it is panic.

[She tilts her head a little at the motion, but then she finally gets it - are you gonna do brushings??? or pettings??? because that's what she sits in Sena's lap for and you know Sena so obviously you are going to do the same thing so yes okay she'll jump into your lap.
unfortunately for Duma the kickoff of her jumping off his shell means he's going to roll back in the other direction again, so...yeah. One more for the road, buddy.]

[Lightly chiding, but in an it's okay, you didn't know kind of tone more than anything as Emmeryn crouches down, Vee cradled in her arm, and tries to help Duma roll back onto his feet.
...Only he weighs almost three hundred fucking pounds so she's, um, struggling. At least Vee's got a cozy spot in the meantime.

[This is fun, this is so much fun, and unfortunately rewarding what she did to Duma with More Fun means she doesn't exactly get that what she did was Bad And Caused Much Suffering. So instead, she wags her tail as Emmeryn starts trying to help Duma.

except aw christ she absolutely is NOT strong enough to push Duma over like this, so she sighs, ever put-upon, and sets Vee down beside her so she can try to push poor Duma over with both hands?

[Duma whines a little. He's started trying to withdraw his legs like a turtle, past the initial impulsiveness into embarrassment, except he isn't a turtle at all so guess what else isn't working?]
