Week 13.

WEEK 13

The trip to Celestic Town is an unconventional one, though it's infinitely faster than walking and doesn't leave everyone feeling woozy in the same way that teleportation does. The town itself is a small one, though it's scenic, and there's a sort of beauty to it that's very rustic in nature; it's surrounded on both sides by mountainous routes that you're welcome to go on to both the west and the east, though it wouldn't be recommended that you venture too far out, seeing as they can be on the dangerous side for those who are unfamiliar with them.

It seems Cynthia was right about one thing - there was certainly an incident at Lake Verity that went off almost as soon as you left, another of those deep pulses echoing through the surrounding area; it seems that whatever Mesprit did can be felt by the region as a whole, given that Celestic Town and the surrounding areas seem to have been affected as well despite being so far east of the lake.

Cynthia herself can be found throughout the town for the duration, should anyone want to speak to her. Sometimes when left to her own devices, she can be seen in the company of a little girl who looks very similar to herself; sometimes she's with a pair of people much older. Either way, the family resemblance is strong.

Lucas is here as well; he's still willing to speak to anyone that wants to, though he seems a bit subdued.

Either way, it's been a long, harrowing trip so far; hopefully spending some time here will help to rejuvenate you.

eudaimonikos: (I'm gonna need a boost)

[personal profile] eudaimonikos 2018-08-29 07:12 pm (UTC)(link)
[Michael clocks that cringe, but doesn't comment for right now.]

What are you supposed to do for that? Need me to go find someone else to suck the poison out? [He's already taking a step back at the idea.]

[personal profile] takestheblame 2018-08-31 01:41 am (UTC)(link)
I was told strong antidotes would be enough. I'm rather sure sucking out the poison would make you really sick -- Nidoking toxins must be rather strong.

[Most likely fatal if untreated for many, many hiours, but manageable in general, just like almost all Pokemon poisons]

Since when does sucking poison help anyone, anyway? That sounds really gross and I doubt it works.
eudaimonikos: (nichomachean ethics)

[personal profile] eudaimonikos 2018-08-31 03:12 am (UTC)(link)
I think it can. Don't usually run into those cases, though.

[Also the fact that you think he would do that himself is disgusting and hilarious all at the same time]

You know, we could probably weaponize that.
takestheblame: 2 (2)

[personal profile] takestheblame 2018-09-01 03:24 am (UTC)(link)
We can't weaponize sucking poison, Michael.

[Kiryu adjusts his position as if he had said something reasonable. Yeah, he's playing dumb. He wants Michael to elaborate what he means]
eudaimonikos: (start over again and again)

[personal profile] eudaimonikos 2018-09-01 08:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Don't be dense, Kiryu, I'm talking about poisoning other people.
takestheblame: 5 (5)

[personal profile] takestheblame 2018-09-01 09:01 pm (UTC)(link)
[He thought so]

That's rather dangerous, but...

[It's not like Kiryu balks at the thought of brutality towards opponents. He's willing to listen, but he reserves the right to reject it if he thinks it can lead to someone's death]

You're the professional here, how would you do that?
eudaimonikos: (again and again)

[personal profile] eudaimonikos 2018-09-01 10:51 pm (UTC)(link)
I would put the poison on a knife, and then put the knife in them.

[man he's a demon from hell were you expecting something subtle?]
takestheblame: 15 (15)

[personal profile] takestheblame 2018-09-01 11:06 pm (UTC)(link)
That's more direct and less tricksy than I expected.

[He's almost disappointed, haha!]
eudaimonikos: (give me a boost over heaven's gate)

[personal profile] eudaimonikos 2018-09-01 11:52 pm (UTC)(link)
If we're at the point of murder, I'd only use tricks where they were necessary. You know, if the knife wouldn't work. Usually?

[He makes a sort of so-so motion with his hands.]

All the elaborate deceptions are just for fun.

Using the environment around you usually works better than any knife and can disable almost any enemy.

[Says Kiryu, who has never killed anyone in his life -- thanks to gaming conventions because otherwise people would get seriously injured in his fights]

Doing anything would be more difficult if Pokemon get involved, though. They won't let anyone get stabbed.
eudaimonikos: (a treatise of human nature)

[personal profile] eudaimonikos 2018-09-02 06:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Probably easiest to just have the Pokemon attack them directly. Their Pokemon, that is, and then them.

[Murder!]

I've never actually killed a human before. Not for any moral reason, they're just usually dead already...I'd only run into live ones a few times before all of this.
takestheblame: 4 (4)

[personal profile] takestheblame 2018-09-02 07:58 pm (UTC)(link)
It's surprising there aren't more casualties caused by Pokemon. They're incredibly strong.

[He knows what he's talking about, Bito has surpassed him in strength already to the point where it'd be dangerous to keep fighting him]

I haven't killed anyone ever before either. Beaten them up within an inch of their life, yes, but never killed anyone.
eudaimonikos: (fear and trembling)

[personal profile] eudaimonikos 2018-09-02 08:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Really? That seems unusual, from what I know of organized crime.

[but like, neat?]

I've done things that would have killed a living human. But back home, you just - [He snaps his fingers.] - and they're right back to the way they were.
takestheblame: 4 (4)

[personal profile] takestheblame 2018-09-02 09:02 pm (UTC)(link)
It's because of principles. My best friend and I thought that killing was a line nobody could come back from.

[And it was proven true]

So that's everyday life in hell. Them dying, and being revived to continue their torture. That's supposed to go forever, isn't it?
eudaimonikos: (utilitarianism)

[personal profile] eudaimonikos 2018-09-02 09:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, I didn't say they died. Just that they would have died, if it happened when they were alive. Technically, they are still conscious the entire time.

[Which, does not make it sound better now that he's saying it.]

But yes.
