Week 13.

WEEK 13

The trip to Celestic Town is an unconventional one, though it's infinitely faster than walking and doesn't leave everyone feeling woozy in the same way that teleportation does. The town itself is a small one, though it's scenic, and there's a sort of beauty to it that's very rustic in nature; it's surrounded on both sides by mountainous routes that you're welcome to go on to both the west and the east, though it wouldn't be recommended that you venture too far out, seeing as they can be on the dangerous side for those who are unfamiliar with them.

It seems Cynthia was right about one thing - there was certainly an incident at Lake Verity that went off almost as soon as you left, another of those deep pulses echoing through the surrounding area; it seems that whatever Mesprit did can be felt by the region as a whole, given that Celestic Town and the surrounding areas seem to have been affected as well despite being so far east of the lake.

Cynthia herself can be found throughout the town for the duration, should anyone want to speak to her. Sometimes when left to her own devices, she can be seen in the company of a little girl who looks very similar to herself; sometimes she's with a pair of people much older. Either way, the family resemblance is strong.

Lucas is here as well; he's still willing to speak to anyone that wants to, though he seems a bit subdued.

Either way, it's been a long, harrowing trip so far; hopefully spending some time here will help to rejuvenate you.

semistableman: (✪ maybe you're a joker)

afternoon

[It's kind of fascinating to watch Pokemon evolve, considering they just sort of... glow and then become bigger.

He laughs quietly, approaching Eustace and Pup curiously, though he does reach out to offer his hand.]

Need some help?
thunderwolf: (Default)

[personal profile] thunderwolf 2018-08-30 03:58 pm (UTC)(link)
[Eustace wouldn't blame Bucky if he laughed openly, honestly. It's probably quite the sight to have a big dog all over him and chewing on his ear.]

Ah, thanks. C'mon Pup- off.

[With Bucky's help, Pup's off and Eustace is stable on his feet.]

Guess he's not aware of his own strength yet.

[In regard to Pup, of course. He's huge compared to when he was a Poochyena.]
semistableman: (❆ lied too much)

[personal profile] semistableman 2018-09-01 03:32 am (UTC)(link)
[I mean.

It is pretty funny, but this is a man who has been kicked in the stomach by a goat before. Being knocked over kinda hurts.]

He'll figure it out, I'm sure. Probably a good talking to is enough to set him straight.

[Hopefully?]
thunderwolf: (♦ neutral (the default))

[personal profile] thunderwolf 2018-09-03 01:58 am (UTC)(link)
[Ouch. Thankfully in this case, it's not quite so bad. Eustace is just fine.]

Probably. I'm not too concerned at the moment since he only just evolved, but I'll have to do something if he keeps knocking into things...and people.
semistableman: (★ i'd go back and change everything)

[personal profile] semistableman 2018-09-03 08:33 pm (UTC)(link)
At least he'll be easier to convince to be gentle than a non-Pokemon animal would. Being able to understand speech has its advantages.
thunderwolf: (♦ mild interest)

[personal profile] thunderwolf 2018-09-04 03:52 pm (UTC)(link)
That right? I've never trained animals outside of my Pokemon.

[It's a totally new experience for him.]
semistableman: of my own (★ never had a cherry valance)

[personal profile] semistableman 2018-09-05 01:12 am (UTC)(link)
I haven't exactly trained them, but goats are stubborn creatures. And honestly, most animals don't really understand human speech, at least in my world.

But Pokemon do. It's kind of like having a real conversation, even if you can't completely understand what they're saying.
thunderwolf: (♦ coffee)

[personal profile] thunderwolf 2018-09-06 06:22 pm (UTC)(link)
I think it's the same in mine for the most part. Though I deal with monsters more than regular animals. Some of them are capable of understanding humans and can even use human speech, but most aren't. They're like Pokemon but without the ability to reason.

[In short, he now feels like he was pretty wrong to compare Pokemon to the monsters in his world, even if they remind him more of monsters than regular animals.]
semistableman: (★ but you won't ever let me go)

[personal profile] semistableman 2018-09-08 02:23 am (UTC)(link)
It's kind of like Pokemon and people are pretty much the same thing here-- sure, people train 'em, but except for Team Galactic, overall it seems like Pokemon are highly respected, even revered due to some of them being gods.
thunderwolf: (♦ shoulder glance)

[personal profile] thunderwolf 2018-09-10 04:08 pm (UTC)(link)
[Eustace nods.]

They've definitely got something like a symbiotic relationship occurring. Wonder if it's always been like this.
semistableman: (☔ someone to crawl into)

[personal profile] semistableman 2018-09-11 04:52 am (UTC)(link)
Everything Cynthia has said on the subject makes me think it's been like this for a very long time, at the very least.

It's so different from my world.
thunderwolf: (♦ huff)

[personal profile] thunderwolf 2018-09-12 04:37 am (UTC)(link)
No kidding. [That's a "same here", in other words.] There'd be a lot more peace in my world if monsters were more like Pokemon. But they've always been like that, since the first documentation of their appearance.
semistableman: how about that (❅ you feel this way)

[personal profile] semistableman 2018-09-12 11:10 pm (UTC)(link)
[That earns a nod.]

Yeah. There aren't exactly monsters running around in my world, but it would still change things completely.
