Week 13.

WEEK 13 The trip to Celestic Town is an unconventional one, though it's infinitely faster than walking and doesn't leave everyone feeling woozy in the same way that teleportation does. The town itself is a small one, though it's scenic, and there's a sort of beauty to it that's very rustic in nature; it's surrounded on both sides by mountainous routes that you're welcome to go on to both the west and the east, though it wouldn't be recommended that you venture too far out, seeing as they can be on the dangerous side for those who are unfamiliar with them. It seems Cynthia was right about one thing - there was certainly an incident at Lake Verity that went off almost as soon as you left, another of those deep pulses echoing through the surrounding area; it seems that whatever Mesprit did can be felt by the region as a whole, given that Celestic Town and the surrounding areas seem to have been affected as well despite being so far east of the lake. Cynthia herself can be found throughout the town for the duration, should anyone want to speak to her. Sometimes when left to her own devices, she can be seen in the company of a little girl who looks very similar to herself; sometimes she's with a pair of people much older. Either way, the family resemblance is strong. Lucas is here as well; he's still willing to speak to anyone that wants to, though he seems a bit subdued. Either way, it's been a long, harrowing trip so far; hopefully spending some time here will help to rejuvenate you. [Thankfully the Gible lets go pretty quickly, after deciding she doesn't like the taste of Yuri's hand. Unfortunately, she decides to go rooting through his bag to see if she can find more food. Yuri's Pokémon are all in varying states of ?????? so they just sort of let her do her thing for now.

Yuri shakes out his hand a bit, wincing.]

Your guess is as good as mine. Not exactly my idea of a good time either way.

[Thankfully she didn't bite down hard enough to draw blood, but he's going to have some teeth indents along his fingers near the knuckles for awhile.]

Well, if Yuri isn't going to be yanking her away, it's going to be kind of entertaining to watch.]

Maybe she just needs a good chew toy. Preferably something that isn't your hand.

Apparently. Who knew little monsters would have trouble teething?

[She kind of looks like a little monster. He can't really argue the nickname.]

Better be careful. She kinda looks like a shark, and those guys have been known to shed teeth when they bite someone or something.

...Maybe I should call her Leviathan...

[He is absolutely not naming her Yeager, but I mean. His motif is definitely a shark, so the thought totally crosses his mind...??? i have waited all game to make a reference to yeager]

Leviathan?

[Is this where I mention that as far as Christianity goes, Leviathan is synonymous with the devil? Because it totally is. Don't mind his blank stare. yeager would be happy to have a shark named after him, wouldn't he]

Might go to her head, that's a pretty fierce name.

Yeah, it's... kind of a long story. Sharks tend to remind me of some guy I fought.

[He shrugs a bit at that.]

I'll think about it before settling on anything. It took me awhile to give Dein Nomos a name, even though that one's pretty obvious.

I wouldn't know either way.

[But at least he can understand naming Pokemon after people.]

Guess it might be fun to hold off, see how they act-- I've never actually done that, though.

[But that's because all of his names are puns.]

I'm not exactly the most creative with names. I mean, look at Roc.

[He shrugs a bit.]

"Dein Nomos" is named after a literal sword from back home. Rukeno's name was picked out by Jake, and it's definitely the best of the bunch.

[IT MEANS KNIFEHANDS, IT IS NOT THE BEST.]

[By the loud snort Bucky makes the moment Yuri says "Rukeno", Bucky very clearly understands what it means.]

Excellent name.

[But the name of a sword, huh?]

I didn't realize people named weapons. It always seemed like one of those folklore things, to me.

[HE LOOKS SO PROUD...

Moving on, though.]

Really? Yeah, we've got names for all of our weapons. It's easier than just calling 'em all "swords" and having no idea which ones have weapon skills and which don't.

Weapon skills?

Yeah, you aren't familiar with them? They're more or less abilities that have been sealed into the weapon so other people can learn 'em with enough practice.

[By the blank look he's giving, he absolutely isn't familiar with them.]

I know how to use dozens of different weapons and I don't think they've ever given me "skills" just from using them. It'd be pretty convenient.

[He's kind of jealous, honestly.]
