Week 13.

WEEK 13 The trip to Celestic Town is an unconventional one, though it's infinitely faster than walking and doesn't leave everyone feeling woozy in the same way that teleportation does. The town itself is a small one, though it's scenic, and there's a sort of beauty to it that's very rustic in nature; it's surrounded on both sides by mountainous routes that you're welcome to go on to both the west and the east, though it wouldn't be recommended that you venture too far out, seeing as they can be on the dangerous side for those who are unfamiliar with them. It seems Cynthia was right about one thing - there was certainly an incident at Lake Verity that went off almost as soon as you left, another of those deep pulses echoing through the surrounding area; it seems that whatever Mesprit did can be felt by the region as a whole, given that Celestic Town and the surrounding areas seem to have been affected as well despite being so far east of the lake. Cynthia herself can be found throughout the town for the duration, should anyone want to speak to her. Sometimes when left to her own devices, she can be seen in the company of a little girl who looks very similar to herself; sometimes she's with a pair of people much older. Either way, the family resemblance is strong. Lucas is here as well; he's still willing to speak to anyone that wants to, though he seems a bit subdued. Either way, it's been a long, harrowing trip so far; hopefully spending some time here will help to rejuvenate you. Some of it must be... cans, perhaps? Or other such refuse? After all, some of the drinks from that vending machines are in metallic canisters. There also are metal parts to those potions...

[ Zelda tilts her head. That surely is not the majority of garbage, but... ]

That's quite unusual. She never showed an interest in such things, but I suppose she does have a habit of finding various things...she could have added them to her cloak while I wasn't looking.

...You know, for that matter, what is all of this stuff? And...why is it pink?

I don't know...

[ She tilts her head, reaching out to brush over it again... ] Gardenia's notes had extensive notation about how certain types of Burmy evolve into a Grass type if their cloak is mostly made of leaves and such, taking on an adaptation from their environment...? Perhaps because her own gatherings of choice were man-made it fused into this shape when she evolved?

[ But it does seem weird to be pink. ]

...That does make sense. I would have never expected it, really, but it's certainly an unexpected boon to have in these times.

[Eda seems to puff up a bit with pride. Damn right she's a boon!]

More than that, it's fascinating- [ Zelda smiles and, ] Eda, you have quite the impressive cloak on you now.

[ Even if it's still weird. It's Pink. ]

[Ahhh, that gets Eda to practically beam and squeal a little bit--she's so pleased with the praise, if nothing else.]

Keep that up, and she may come to adore you, sweetheart! But I do agree, Eda dear--you've grown into such a beautiful, impressive creature!

Still, to grow a steel coat... I suppose if it adapts to the environment it must be that the needs of perhaps a human-populated environment demanded a strong carapace...? Still, you said it was more personality based, so maybe it is simply that...?
