Week 14.

WEEK 14

Sunday is a rough day all around; it's for the best that you remain where you are for the day, for the sake of regrouping and recovering, and perhaps getting some sleep - assuming that any will come. However, as difficult though it may be (and as futile though it may seem) Monday is likely best seen as a day to depart - a day to start to take whatever actions can still be taken, and to assess where to go from here. A good place to start is Canalave City; it's where you were going to meet with Cynthia, and where you were planning on looking into the legends of Sinnoh. The city itself is beautiful, a massive port town split down the center by a large canal system filled with boats and clear water leading out to sea; however, the recent changes to the world have affected this place as well, perhaps making it a bit difficult to enjoy the city in its entirety.

However, the library is here, as are several other points of interest; as difficult though it may be to see the world like this, the trip here will hopefully be worth your while in the end...

CURRENT LOCATION: CANALAVE CITY
POKEMON AVAILABLE: WITHIN CITIES
SURROUNDING ROUTES: PLAINS/FOREST / NEAR WATER

MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY | FRIDAY
[OOC: Welcome to week fourteen of Azume; feel free to make as many top levels as you'd like and tag out to other characters! This post is for all of your interactions this week... at least until the weekend. Don't forget that a write-up is due this weekend!]

We promised Uxie those at Snowpoint would take care of Candice. If it turns out nobody up there can do it and something happens to Candice, that won't get us Uxie's approval at all.

[He's trying to appeal to that because 'I feel bad for Candice because her life these last few months sucks' isn't going to get him any favors, he figures]

[Ignis did actually sympathize with and worry about Candice considerably; the problem was simple pragmatism. It wasn't safe to split up, and doubling back all as a group didn't sound safe either.]

We'll be doing neither her nor Uxie any favors if we encounter Galactic there. In the worst case scenario, we haven't the strength or resources to mount a rescue mission should any of our number be captured and their spirit erased.

Would Team Galactic have any reason to inform about us? We're supposedly inexistent, after all. They may not even remember how we look like.

[That'd be the one advantage of what Cyrus did, if it works like Kiryu thinks it does.

Unfortunately, it's a big risk and he's very aware of that. He's not deterred by risks or reasonable people, though. Boy would his life have taken a different direction if he had listened to people who knew more than him]
discutio: (one maniac at a time we'll take it back)

We don't know that they don't, Kiryu. And given this is a world where Cyrus effectively writes the laws of physics, logic, and all things in between, I hold very little reason to believe the commanders would hesitate in trying to deal with us when next we meet.

Do we even know the commanders are at? Last I heard Cyrus had them with him for some reason.

[Judging by Kiryu's expression, Ignis' argument is persuasive. Too bad you can't see his face, Ignis]

I don't, but Cyrus wasn't exactly forthcoming with where he spends most of his time either. We also can't forget they've teleportation at their disposal, as well.

[He tends to have that effect.]

And though we're more conspicuous together, we're more vulnerable in smaller groups.

[Your logic is overwhelming, Ignis. Kiryu sighs. He's not defeated because, well, he has quite the stubborn streak, but by now it's pretty clear Ignis doesn't approve. Trying to convince him would be like hitting a wall of bricks with your head]

Yeah, I get your point. Damn it...it really bothers me we're leaving Candice up there. She did nothing wrong, she didn't deserve any of what happened.

[He's not trying to convince him, he's just saying what he feels]

[such is the power of Team Mom.]

I'm worried about her as well. If I thought it less of a risk, I'd be preparing to leave right now. But if we split up and should the worst happen, we'll be at a tremendous disadvantage going forward and may fail outright when next we meet Cyrus. And if we all go together, that would just be likely to paint a target on us anyway.

...I'm sorry. I understand your concerns, but I can't advise this being a wise choice.

Maybe it should be more like waiting for the right chance. Postponing it instead of outright rejecting it.

[And hope Candice is okay until then, somehow]
discutio: (gonna change you like a remix)

[personal profile] discutio 2018-09-04 04:54 am (UTC)(link)
That sounds a little better than running off with scarce planning. I certainly don't assume I speak for the group, so should I be outvoted on this I could at least compromise on that.
