Week 14.

WEEK 14

Sunday is a rough day all around; it's for the best that you remain where you are for the day, for the sake of regrouping and recovering, and perhaps getting some sleep - assuming that any will come. However, as difficult though it may be (and as futile though it may seem) Monday is likely best seen as a day to depart - a day to start to take whatever actions can still be taken, and to assess where to go from here. A good place to start is Canalave City; it's where you were going to meet with Cynthia, and where you were planning on looking into the legends of Sinnoh. The city itself is beautiful, a massive port town split down the center by a large canal system filled with boats and clear water leading out to sea; however, the recent changes to the world have affected this place as well, perhaps making it a bit difficult to enjoy the city in its entirety.

However, the library is here, as are several other points of interest; as difficult though it may be to see the world like this, the trip here will hopefully be worth your while in the end...

CURRENT LOCATION: CANALAVE CITY
POKEMON AVAILABLE: WITHIN CITIES
SURROUNDING ROUTES: PLAINS/FOREST / NEAR WATER

MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY | FRIDAY
[OOC: Welcome to week fourteen of Azume; feel free to make as many top levels as you'd like and tag out to other characters! This post is for all of your interactions this week... at least until the weekend. Don't forget that a write-up is due this weekend!]

semistableman: (♟ to forever torment me)

[He snorts.

Bucky can appreciate that sort of reaction. It's dark, and hell, it sounds like Jake's world is one windstorm away from total collapse, but so it's Bucky's honestly.]

Apparently aliens attacked New York City, and nearly leveled it to the ground in 2012.
bloodspent: (04. never get mad)

[personal profile] bloodspent 2018-09-05 04:16 am (UTC)(link)
[He just kind of stares at that one.]

...Jesus, you people get to have all the fun.

[JAKE.]
semistableman: (★ i'd go back and change everything)

[personal profile] semistableman 2018-09-05 04:40 am (UTC)(link)
I missed it, but I'm pretty sure Steve had the time of his life.

Not that he's admit it.
bloodspent: (07. they're all the same)

[personal profile] bloodspent 2018-09-05 04:44 am (UTC)(link)
I don't blame him for having a good time.

[...

You know what, while we're all being blunt about the end of the world and all and no one truly gives a fuck anymore- ]

There's no not-stupid way to explain what's going on in my world. Like, I explain it as bioterrorism and virus-based warfare, which is all true, but what we've actually got going on is the zombie apocalypse.

[.............yeah.]
semistableman: (✪ maybe you're a sinner)

[personal profile] semistableman 2018-09-05 05:23 am (UTC)(link)
[You know, there are a lot of things he was expecting Jake to talk about. After all, bioterrorism, Illuminati-esque dark forces, attacking densely populated areas... he's seen all of that.]

Zombies.

[It says a lot that he doesn't even think for a moment that Jake could be pulling a fast one on him.]

Yeah, I can see how that would be a major problem.
bloodspent: (28. when you were there first)

[personal profile] bloodspent 2018-09-05 05:41 am (UTC)(link)
[If he was going to fuck with you, he'd probably pick something less dumb-sounding?]

Yeah. I mean, it's still all a virus thing? Pretty sure the virus just kills you immediately and then your body gets right back up. Something that Uncle Sam thought was a good idea for the US military, from what I gathered from Simmons screaming his head off.

[...]

Simmons was one of the guys trying to end the world. Not the one with the plane, the one that was working with his girlfriend. I think I've mentioned him to you before, he was the National Security Advisor from America.
semistableman: (✪ he's come so far to find the truth)

[personal profile] semistableman 2018-09-06 03:00 am (UTC)(link)
That sounds incredibly American, yeah.

[There's some amount of contempt in his voice; it's not like he really considers himself American at this point.]

It's always the higher-ups in government. The leader of HYDRA was the Secretary of the World Security Council.

[And since that by itself isn't going to make much sense...]

Think the UN, but it focuses on monitoring people with extraordinary powers.

bloodspent: (08. who can compare)

[personal profile] bloodspent 2018-09-06 06:51 am (UTC)(link)
[I mean, hey, Jake's from Eastern Europe and working for a bunch of communists to overthrow his country's government because fuck democracy, that's why. So you can bitch about America all you want, as far as he's concerned.]

So people just have superpowers where you came from, or what?
semistableman: (★ i am so homesick now for)

[personal profile] semistableman 2018-09-06 07:52 pm (UTC)(link)
I guess?

[He's never thought of it that way before.]

Steve was a sickly guy for most of his like, and then this doctor working for the military comes out of nowhere with a serum that turns him into some kind of super soldier.

[That explains how he was able to yank Bucky out of a helicopter, at least.]

I know he's friends with some sort of alien god of thunder and a guy who turns into a green rage monster.

[...and then there was Red Skull...]

...So, yeah. I can't really blame world governments for wanting to keep track of things. Too bad it was all corrupt.
bloodspent: (07. they're all the same)

[personal profile] bloodspent 2018-09-08 12:21 am (UTC)(link)
Huh.

[That's so weird. Cool, though. But weird.]

We've got a few people with superpowers running around, but those are usually the ones who were exposed to the virus somehow and managed to not just fall over and die. My friend had it but was cured, and now she can heal from anything. Apparently there was some other guy who could just take all the benefits - like strength and healing and durability and stuff - and never actually get sick because of the antibodies he had in his blood. No gods or anything, though.
semistableman: (★ i am so homesick now for)

[personal profile] semistableman 2018-09-08 02:49 am (UTC)(link)
I've never met the god guy. I've heard he's actually pretty awkward, though? I guess that's not a shock.

Alien.

[...God the virus sounds pretty horrible.]

Sounds like a hell of a bioweapon.
