Week 14.

WEEK 14 Sunday is a rough day all around; it's for the best that you remain where you are for the day, for the sake of regrouping and recovering, and perhaps getting some sleep - assuming that any will come. However, as difficult though it may be (and as futile though it may seem) Monday is likely best seen as a day to depart - a day to start to take whatever actions can still be taken, and to assess where to go from here. A good place to start is Canalave City; it's where you were going to meet with Cynthia, and where you were planning on looking into the legends of Sinnoh. The city itself is beautiful, a massive port town split down the center by a large canal system filled with boats and clear water leading out to sea; however, the recent changes to the world have affected this place as well, perhaps making it a bit difficult to enjoy the city in its entirety. However, the library is here, as are several other points of interest; as difficult though it may be to see the world like this, the trip here will hopefully be worth your while in the end... I could use the distraction, though I doubt we'll come up with much in the way of instruments if we looked.

[What with people being dead inside and not much for hobbies and all.]

Well, someone might've liked music at some point.

[He doubts anyone's picked up any new hobbies, but there's probably some terribly dusty instruments somewhere in Sinnoh.]

Here, hold out your hands - [He's gonna just plop the borb there] - this isn't an official custody change, so nobody needs to freak out. Be careful if you ever do give away a Pokemon, Ignis, they don't take it well.

That's...perhaps understandable, if oddly specific.

[And now he has a handful of birb. This was not how he expected today to go by any means, but clearly things could be worse.]

It makes some of them evolve. That's the only reason I was doing it. Jane Doe evolves that way too, I'm really not looking forward to that...

[Although maybe Jane will be more rational about it? Maybe.]

Anyway, all you really have to do is tell him to listen, and the name of the song so he knows, and then...sing it, whistle it, whatever you're going to do. He knows how this works, I've done it a ton.

No, it's--it's fine, I just wouldn't exactly want a substantial audience. I'm happy to help for Aya's sake, but frankly, if Noctis catches me doing this he's never going to let me live it down.

[Ignis sighed, shaking his head and apparently gathering what resolve he could. Aya definitely needed the morale boost as did most of them, he just had to remember that and not concern himself with anything else. Even if it did irreparable damage to a carefully cultivated image.]

[...Apparently, this was serious business, because he almost sounded conspiratorial as he spoke to the Chatot.]

Quaver, are you listening? This is called...

[Ignis might have turned slightly red, though with how much of his face was covered by his glasses it was hard to tell for sure. With a deep sigh and all the gravity of a man about to do the stupidest thing imaginable while being well aware of the fact:]

...Rodeo de Chocobo.

[Oh, if Prompto could hear the whistled melody that he taught the little mimicking bird, Ignis would just have to kill him on the spot. Gladio, too. Just to be safe.]

[Hell, part of him was considering having Highwind put Michael to sleep and pretend he knew absolutely nothing of the incident--had the recent incident not been what it was, he might have actually entertained the nefarious plan.]

[If this didn't work to cheer anyone up, he'd be quite embarrassed about the whole thing.]

[eudaimonikos]

[Luckily, Ignis cannot see the way Michael's eyebrows go up, or the smile that spreads across his face. When it's over, his voice doesn't betray any of this:]

You got all that, bud?

[Quaver chirps happily, working his wings free of Ignis's grasp to flap them. He likes that song!]
