Week 14.
WEEK 14 Sunday is a rough day all around; it's for the best that you remain where you are for the day, for the sake of regrouping and recovering, and perhaps getting some sleep - assuming that any will come. However, as difficult though it may be (and as futile though it may seem) Monday is likely best seen as a day to depart - a day to start to take whatever actions can still be taken, and to assess where to go from here. A good place to start is Canalave City; it's where you were going to meet with Cynthia, and where you were planning on looking into the legends of Sinnoh. The city itself is beautiful, a massive port town split down the center by a large canal system filled with boats and clear water leading out to sea; however, the recent changes to the world have affected this place as well, perhaps making it a bit difficult to enjoy the city in its entirety. However, the library is here, as are several other points of interest; as difficult though it may be to see the world like this, the trip here will hopefully be worth your while in the end... POKEMON AVAILABLE: WITHIN CITIES SURROUNDING ROUTES: PLAINS/FOREST / NEAR WATER MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY | FRIDAY [OOC: Welcome to week fourteen of Azume; feel free to make as many top levels as you'd like and tag out to other characters! This post is for all of your interactions this week... at least until the weekend. Don't forget that a write-up is due this weekend!] |

The Lake Guardians - or, well, we're assuming it was the Lake Guardians - managed to shield us from...whatever it was that Cyrus did.
[...okay SPEAKING OF WHICH-]
...this feels like a stupid question, but...is he....alright? I mean he obviously isn't, since he's doing what he's doing, but....there was something incredibly...how do I say this...
[...]
...he didn't like it when we asked what had happened to him, to make him the way he is.
no subject
That gets her to pause a bit, really. Just...]
It was good of you to ask, and to try to understand... He's a bit on the intense side when it comes to that sort of questioning, to put it gently. I'm not surprised that he didn't like people trying to find out anything about him.
no subject
[To...to put it mildly...]
...so you've asked too, then? It seemed like that was the only time his expression changed - he almost stuttered. I've been trying to think of ways we could defeat him, but I keep coming back to that interaction.

[There does seem to be regret behind it; she had kept him at arm's distance, perhaps she had even preferred it that way- ]
Outwardly, he wanted to do good things for the region. Team Galactic was originally a company that was focused on alternative sources of energy, things that would be less harmful for the world, and he was always an outspoken pacifist that wanted to ease the burdens of others. He was a little strange, a little intense, but I never saw fit to look into it too deeply.
[...]
The interaction you're mentioning may be a good thing to keep in mind, I think.

[...emotions are hard, let her just. start picking up those books she dropped earlier.]
I may be...projecting, based on personal experiences, but there was something about Cyrus that just made me feel...sad for him. But he's done so much damage to Sinnoh, and he was talking about doing the same to our worlds, so...he must be stopped, and if he won't stop voluntarily...
[...she'll just. trail off there.
...]
...do you still think we shouldn't kill him?

[...]
There's nothing wrong with feeling sympathy for your enemies, Rey. Being able to have empathy for your adversaries isn't a weakness, even if you still have to face them down in the end.
no subject
I'll try and remember that. Thank you, Cynthia.
[...]
...what will you do now....?
no subject
[She's quiet for a moment once that's out there.]
All of this was something of a shock, to be honest. My own plans have been thrown off a bit as a result.
[She glances over at her companion over there, who is still...very much checked out of this conversation and literally everything around him.]
I'll likely continue to look after him for a little while longer while I regroup, and make plans from there.

[Seriously, Cynthia's presence is comforting. Already, Rey feels a little less lonely.
...]
...I want you to know that I respect the fact you don't want to kill Cyrus, and if it can be avoided, I'll try not to. But please understand that if our group decides it's what we have to do to protect our worlds - and those that mean the most to us - we won't hesitate.
[...]
So...sorry, in advance. If that does happen.

I don't want the world he's created here. I don't believe it's something anyone in their right mind would want, for themselves or anyone that they care about.
[And this is...a little difficult, with Lucian right there, but.]
At the same time, I don't believe that killing Cyrus will truly accomplish anything.
no subject
[That's said with a slight wince; the last thing they need to do is drive away the one person in this region who can help them, but...from what she's observed, most of their group would be more than happy to take Cyrus out the second they next set eyes on him. It feels...wrong to try and pretend that that isn't reality.
What a miserable situation.]
Either way, if you run into him before us...please be careful. I tried to press him on whether or not he saw you as a threat, but he wasn't very forthcoming. He seems to want to eliminate anyone who threatens his 'perfect' world, so....
[...just...don't die, okay.]
no subject
[She seems confident in that much, at least.]
no subject
...I hope not.
[Because she'll definitely want to kill him if he does, so um.
...
...at least she has the sense not to vocalize that last part.]
