Week 14.
WEEK 14 Sunday is a rough day all around; it's for the best that you remain where you are for the day, for the sake of regrouping and recovering, and perhaps getting some sleep - assuming that any will come. However, as difficult though it may be (and as futile though it may seem) Monday is likely best seen as a day to depart - a day to start to take whatever actions can still be taken, and to assess where to go from here. A good place to start is Canalave City; it's where you were going to meet with Cynthia, and where you were planning on looking into the legends of Sinnoh. The city itself is beautiful, a massive port town split down the center by a large canal system filled with boats and clear water leading out to sea; however, the recent changes to the world have affected this place as well, perhaps making it a bit difficult to enjoy the city in its entirety. However, the library is here, as are several other points of interest; as difficult though it may be to see the world like this, the trip here will hopefully be worth your while in the end... POKEMON AVAILABLE: WITHIN CITIES SURROUNDING ROUTES: PLAINS/FOREST / NEAR WATER MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY | FRIDAY [OOC: Welcome to week fourteen of Azume; feel free to make as many top levels as you'd like and tag out to other characters! This post is for all of your interactions this week... at least until the weekend. Don't forget that a write-up is due this weekend!] |

Well...I don't want him left out even if he's not as spirited as the others. And if it helps with bonding...
[He reaches into his bag, pulling out a premier ball.]
Would you mind if I tried a little battling with him?
no subject
[He says, releasing the Milotic and WOW HOLY SHIT THAT'S BIG. Michael raises a hand.]
I know he looks very intimidating, but he was a shitty fish until a few days ago, so he's really not used to it.
no subject
[BIG IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT oh god
Atsushi looks at the Pokeball in his hand before releasing his Buizel, and...yeah he's not even a fraction of the size Michael's Milotic is. He's also just standing there like he's not sure how he got there in the first place.]
Looks like they're both water types, then...

[Michael got to flip through Lucas's Pokedex, and while it wasn't a complete record of everything in the region by any means, he's gonna be fucking insufferable about all the ones he does know now. It's like if Rotomdex were low-key evil.]
It probably knows Water Gun, if nothing else. Try that. You can have the first shot. [He says, very sure that Milotic can withstand that.]
no subject
You heard him little guy. Let's try water gun!
[It takes a moment for the Buizel to respond, but when he does it's very static, robotic almost. He takes a breath and spits a sudden jet of water at Milotic.]
no subject
Oh, there you go! He probably also knows Quick Attack. [But, it's their turn:] Milotic, use Water Pulse.
[He finally learned the names of moves! Milotic winds up to deliver a much more enthusiastic Water Pulse - but he's like level 12, so.]
no subject
Okay, um...let's try Quick Attack, then?
[He's heard of that move too, reading about Pikachu's line. Again, there's the same sort of slowness to react before the Pokemon moves, and when he does it's surprisingly fast for something so apathetic. The move works like its namesake after all as he darts towards Milotic with blinking speed.]
no subject
Alright, show us a Tackle.
[On one hand, it's just Tackle. On the other, MAN, that looks scary from a giant water snake!]
no subject
Get out of the way!
[Atsushi calls, but the Buizel's reaction time is too slow. He gets bowled over by the tackle, rolling over into the grass a few times before he stops. For his credit though he does get up without being prompted despite being a bit scuffed up now.]
Quick Attack, again!
[The Buizel darts forward similarly to before, though he doesn't vary his movements much from the last attack, something Atsushi notices right away.]
no subject
[The attack is familiar now, and Milotic weaves to the side. He's just too big to get entirely out of the way, but he doesn't take it straight-on this time.
That seems to be all the useful moves Milotic knows at this point.]
Use Water Pulse, again.
no subject
Use Quick Attack to get out of the way!
[The Buizel pauses, seeming...a little confused. Use...Quick Attack? Again, right?
So he uses the move, but instead of dodging, he Quick Attacks himself towards Milotic, and in turn right into the path of the Water Pulse that knocks him back before he can get close.]
no subject
[Milotic sort of peers to see how the Buizel's doing. That looked pretty rough there, man.]
You could try working on it with him later. Get the concept down outside of battle. Use Water Pulse again. [If Milotic has a concept of being concerned about the opponent taking a bad hit, Michael sort of doesn't. Not until the game is won!]
no subject
Water gun!
[Mizushi lifts his head and sprays water in Milotic's direction, the attack colliding with the Water Pulse and halfway canceling it out. The pulse is the stronger of the two, though, and it eventually breaks through and knocks Mizushi back again at Atsushi's feet. After a moment, the Buizel gets back up, soaking wet and panting but still otherwise looking blank...but also a bit tired from all the jumping around its doing.]
That's pretty good, Mizu...we're almost done, don't worry.
[It's pretty clear he's not winning this one, but that's no problem. He mostly wanted to see how the Buizel would respond.]
Michael-san, do you know of any other moves he might know?
no subject
Water Sport. But it wouldn't be worthwhile here - it wets the terrain to protect against fire attacks, and Milotic doesn't know any. Growl is exactly what it sounds like. I believe it's meant as an intimidation tactic.
[Levels are a pretty fudged thing here, so Michael just has a sort of loose timeline of how skilled a Pokemon has to be before mastering certain skills or something? He frowns thoughtfully at the Buizel for a moment.]
Maybe Pursuit?
[He'll actually allow you to try that; Milotic's lead seems fairly decisive anyway.]
no subject
Try Pursuit, Mizu!
[There's a considerable pause as the Buizel stands there and drips on the grass before very suddenly- and somewhat alarmingly in Atsushi's case- he dashes forward at Milotic, black waves of energy pulsing off of him as he bashes his head against the front of Milotic's body, the damage lessened since Milotic wasn't being returned.]
no subject
He's more advanced than I thought! I don't know exactly how they all learn moves in the same order... [lol whatever] Water Pulse!
no subject
[Atsushi grimaces. Mizushi is...way too close to Milotic right now, not even able to bolt out of the way even if he wanted to. The water hits him dead on and sends him flying back like it had before, only this time when he lands he doesn't struggle back to his feet. He looks pretty dazed.
He doesn't stay down for long though, because Atsushi is pulling out and returning him to his Pokeball.]
That's probably about as much as this little guy can handle...but I'm really surprised. He did a lot more than I was ever expecting.
[He should really know not to judge books by their covers now though, honestly.]
no subject
[BOOM! He goes to offer Milotic a high-five. It slaps his hand with his tail-fan, so, mission accomplished!]
Good job, buddy!
