Week 14.

WEEK 14

Sunday is a rough day all around; it's for the best that you remain where you are for the day, for the sake of regrouping and recovering, and perhaps getting some sleep - assuming that any will come. However, as difficult though it may be (and as futile though it may seem) Monday is likely best seen as a day to depart - a day to start to take whatever actions can still be taken, and to assess where to go from here. A good place to start is Canalave City; it's where you were going to meet with Cynthia, and where you were planning on looking into the legends of Sinnoh. The city itself is beautiful, a massive port town split down the center by a large canal system filled with boats and clear water leading out to sea; however, the recent changes to the world have affected this place as well, perhaps making it a bit difficult to enjoy the city in its entirety.

However, the library is here, as are several other points of interest; as difficult though it may be to see the world like this, the trip here will hopefully be worth your while in the end...

CURRENT LOCATION: CANALAVE CITY
POKEMON AVAILABLE: WITHIN CITIES
SURROUNDING ROUTES: PLAINS/FOREST / NEAR WATER

MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY | FRIDAY
[OOC: Welcome to week fourteen of Azume; feel free to make as many top levels as you'd like and tag out to other characters! This post is for all of your interactions this week... at least until the weekend. Don't forget that a write-up is due this weekend!]

Well, um...I've had a few of my Pokemon evolve recently, so I've been trying to figure out their abilities and how far they can push them...

[Kind of like how Coach Doburoku would test them, actually.]

Sometimes I have them battle against each other, but I've mostly been working on increasing their own personal capabilities...at least until the wild Pokemon can be a little more responsive again.

[Sena tightens his grip on the rope ladder, as if holding it is some kind of talisman. It clearly has something to do with his training plans, but what is it?]

[...Hmm, you know--]

...I have not actually tried to have my dears battle against one another. I've had them battle alongside one another, of course, but I suppose I've worried about how much they could hold back against one another...

[Melady seems to perk a bit at that, honestly. But she'll actually be going and floating over to that rope ladder in Sena's hand, peering curiously at it.]

Oh, what is that? Is that something you've been using?

Honestly, most of my Pokemon are super competitive - [mostly Monta and Nin, but the others have no problem starting shit] - so I never really thought about it. Plus, in team practice, we tackle each other all the time, so...

[Sena shrugs. Holding back has never been a thing he's had to worry about.]

Oh, uh... [He holds it up.] It's something I use for footwork training back home...I wanted to see if any of my Pokemon could take advantage of it.

[Footwork? It seems like such an odd detail to focus on.]

[Huh. That's something Camilla seems to nod at, at least--honestly, looking at the pile of idiots over yonder, they're pretty competitive individuals in and of themselves.

...Still, that's...]

Have they been able to? I imagine one would need to be of particular swiftness to take advantage of it...I take it that's something you have in spades, then.

Well at home I might be the fastest one on the team, but all our backs and receivers have to do this kind of drill, so I don't think you need to be fast to really take advantage of it...

[He scrunches up his face in thought, like he's trying to parse through one of the many, many explanations he's been given on the subject.]

It's like...you want to have a good sense of balance when you're making a play, so you don't trip up on your feet, right? And usually, when I have to get around an opponent, they're either as fast as I am or stronger, and it usually comes down to how I can dodge around them using my footwork...I think it's the same thing for attacking and battling.

[He sweats a little.]

Plus, Michael taught almost my entire team how to use Double Team, so...footwork is kinda important with it, almost as much as speed.

[The only one who doesn't know it is Portus, and, well...that guy teleports. So Sena's pretty sure Portus doesn't need it. Yet. But...isn't Double Team all about being fast enough to make copies? How does footwork factor into that?]
