Week 2.

WEEK 2.

The new week begins with new surroundings.

The city you've been growing accustomed to over the past week is now well behind you as you set out on your journey proper; the terrain still seems rocky and steep here as you move downhill and to the south, dotted here and there with small ponds to the east and rocky outcroppings that you can climb on to the west. There are also large expanses of tall grass here, and the entire route is flanked with tall trees leading off into the forest a short ways. You're more than welcome to explore; just don't stray too far from the group - you wouldn't want to be left behind out here, for any reason.

Wild Pokémon are abundant here, as anyone venturing into the tall grass will discover; they aren't inclined to attack you, however, simply watching with dull, dead eyes as you stumble through the area they've come to call home. The trip is difficult, and it's a lot of walking, but it's not unmanageable; fortunately enough, the route you're on should lead you directly to Valor Lakefront, assuming there are no complications along the way.

From Thursday and beyond, the route takes a sharp turn west; in front of you lies what's clearly the ocean, large rocks jutting out just offshore tempering the waves. It's safe to go in the water if you so choose - assuming you can swim, that is - and the forested terrain has given way to a large beach with patches of tall grass here and there.

Interestingly, there's a house located on the beach; whether it's inhabited or not is difficult to tell. Of course, exploring slightly north of the beach will reveal a path. Maybe it leads somewhere important...

CURRENT LOCATION: ROUTE 213
POKEMON AVAILABLE: NEAR WATER

SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY | FRIDAY
[OOC: Welcome to week two of Azume; feel free to make as many top levels as you'd like and tag out to other characters! This post is for all of your interactions this week... at least until the weekend. Don't forget that a write-up is due next weekend!]

[ That actually gets a laugh out of her, settling in with her own mushrooms. ]

I wouldn't say it is complex as chemistry anyway.
enjoymyatelier: have fun storming the castle, kayneth (a totally honorable mage duel)

[personal profile] enjoymyatelier 2018-06-19 12:50 am (UTC)(link)
Well, probably not, and you're much less likely to blow something up.

It's not unheard of, mind, but it's not as common.
hyruglyphics: (These are probably)

[personal profile] hyruglyphics 2018-06-19 05:18 pm (UTC)(link)
[ ... Unheard- ppppfft ]

I should hope that can be avoided!
enjoymyatelier: kayneth looking smug as hell in a mocking way (well who's this douchebag?)

[personal profile] enjoymyatelier 2018-06-20 01:35 am (UTC)(link)
Well, with modern technology comes new dangers. There's a type of cooking appliance called a pressure cooker that does exactly as the name says: cooks things under pressure. The result is often a delicious meal... but I've heard more than one news story where the pressure resulted in the thing being launched into the ceiling, effectively destroying the kitchen.
hyruglyphics: (PM me if you don't want me)

[personal profile] hyruglyphics 2018-06-20 02:57 am (UTC)(link)
A pressure cooking? What end would that serve... to entrap heat or air?
enjoymyatelier: i think he's fucking her navel (that position is bizarre and improbable)

[personal profile] enjoymyatelier 2018-06-21 04:06 am (UTC)(link)
I'm... not entirely sure, to be honest, but I believe it's basically to make food that you'd steam or boil more quickly.
hyruglyphics: (HMMM)

[personal profile] hyruglyphics 2018-06-21 04:08 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, that does sound convenient...

[ . . . Actually- ]

What of those - odd more mechanical looking ovens I've seen in houses?
enjoymyatelier: maybe he should check the foundations, come to think of it. (red car. good point.)

[personal profile] enjoymyatelier 2018-06-22 04:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, those? They don't generally explode, no. Although, it depends on the kind of oven, since some run on flammable natural gases. Under normal circumstances they just serve as a steady source of flame, but if there's a buildup of gases and that ignites, it can be disastrous.
hyruglyphics: (I mean some look okay?)

[personal profile] hyruglyphics 2018-06-23 01:52 am (UTC)(link)
So it is a more refined furnace?

[ she is intrigued. ]
enjoymyatelier: have fun storming the castle, kayneth (a totally honorable mage duel)

[personal profile] enjoymyatelier 2018-06-24 09:30 pm (UTC)(link)
You could say that, yes. I'll admit that I'm not entirely familiar with the inner workings of them, but that's probably close.
hyruglyphics: (Oh wow these aren't bad!)

[personal profile] hyruglyphics 2018-06-24 09:34 pm (UTC)(link)
I would love to explore their inner workings...

[ Sigh...

Ah well they're on the road now. ]
enjoymyatelier: maybe he should check the foundations, come to think of it. (red car. good point.)

[personal profile] enjoymyatelier 2018-06-25 05:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, I'm sure whenever we get back to civilization you can ask someone if they've got an oven you can take apart. Certainly, there might be some old ones nobody's actually using anymore.
hyruglyphics: (YEET)

[personal profile] hyruglyphics 2018-06-26 05:51 pm (UTC)(link)
[ She nods more than once at that! Oh man, that sounds super fun? ]

Yes, I shall do so!
enjoymyatelier: but what would that even do. (gradients of babylon...?)

[personal profile] enjoymyatelier 2018-06-27 03:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, I hope you have fun with that.

[...oh that sounded a little sarcastic, um]

Honestly, I'm a mage, so we tend to be less than fond of technology... but in this circumstance, it's kind of necessary.
hyruglyphics: (idk man)

[personal profile] hyruglyphics 2018-06-27 03:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, is that a custom in your world? I hadn't known.

[ That ... well, it doesn't make sense to her, but hey, she'll respect it ]
enjoymyatelier: zach. they're here. (migrane's a comin.)

[personal profile] enjoymyatelier 2018-06-28 04:11 pm (UTC)(link)
You could say that, yes. It's more of a point of pride, since we often managed the same things without technology under our own magical prowess.
hyruglyphics: (keywords here?)

[personal profile] hyruglyphics 2018-06-28 11:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Your abilities must be very impressive then, Kayneth.
enjoymyatelier: look at him, gesturing flamboyantly. what a twit. (I'M A GENIUS!)

[personal profile] enjoymyatelier 2018-06-29 06:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, they are indeed. I wish I could show them off to see how they compare with other systems, since it does seem to be the case that magic works differently in other worlds... but unfortunately, that doesn't seem to be the case.
hyruglyphics: (to be using them)

[personal profile] hyruglyphics 2018-06-29 06:03 pm (UTC)(link)
You cannot harness it here?

[ But then, someone had mentioned that the other day, right? ]
enjoymyatelier: maybe he should check the foundations, come to think of it. (red car. good point.)

[personal profile] enjoymyatelier 2018-07-01 04:48 pm (UTC)(link)
No, I can't. It's honestly completely infuriating, but... I do think the implications are fairly interesting, so I can't say it's all bad. I'm interested in seeing what the actual cause of it is.
hyruglyphics: (idk man)

[personal profile] hyruglyphics 2018-07-02 12:41 am (UTC)(link)
[ She's not sure what to think of that, actually. She has not had the ability to access her powers since Calamity Ganon was defeated, so she didn't think anything of it, but a mage who can - ... mmm ]

It does sound as though it might be. ... Both of those, that is.
enjoymyatelier: actually, it totally will. (aha! a plan that will not end in failure)

[personal profile] enjoymyatelier 2018-07-02 07:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, definitely. I'm actually fairly excited to get home and present my findings to my peers, as there's countless implications about what I've learned here. I'm not sure, but it may revolutionize the way we understand parallel worlds...
hyruglyphics: (weeee)

[personal profile] hyruglyphics 2018-07-02 07:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Your peers had actually been able to study those before now...? Hyrule has knowledge of them, but they are often steeped in so much myth and legend, I could not fairly call them studied.
enjoymyatelier: i am just done with this shit (ugh whatever)

[personal profile] enjoymyatelier 2018-07-03 03:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, it's definitely not an easy thing to study. Historically, there's only really one person who's been able to travel between worlds on a regular basis, and he's... well, capricious is perhaps an understatement.
hyruglyphics: (Do appreciate these)

[personal profile] hyruglyphics 2018-07-03 03:45 pm (UTC)(link)
[ That they're discussing this by a campfire... It's not lost on Zelda, and she smiles a little for it, a burning curosity within her despite it all. ]

If there is only one, as their power been gifted by the gods?
