Week 3.

WEEK 3 The past weekend has given people a lot to take in, and a lot to think about. You're permitted to stay at the resort all day on Sunday, should you so choose; relax and replenish yourselves with regards to sleep at least, seeing as it's much more comfortable than the routes or sleeping on the floor of the Pokémon Center. Commander Saturn is gone as of last night, and no one seems to be coming after you - though there is likely something you'll be aware of by the end of the day... Whatever happens, it's evident that you'll have to leave this place eventually, and Monday should find everyone back on Route 213. It's been repeatedly recommended to move toward Pastoria City; whether you believe the source of said urging to be trustworthy or not, it's still a good idea to move in that direction - a city means supplies, after all, a place to restock and spend a few days. Everyone should be able to find Pastoria City by Tuesday afternoon; it's another unfamiliar place, with various things to see and look at over the course of the next few days. It's far smaller than Veilstone, but it borders up to the ocean by way of a small jetty on the southeastern side of town with a few boats moored to it. Otherwise, it's surrounded by forest, and the main path winds its way lazily through town, weaving between personal residences and a few places of business. Of course, it's still not nearly as lively as it should be; the inhabitants here all seem as devoid of spirit as everywhere else; fortunately, a select few of your companions do seem to be perking up a bit - perhaps that's a good sign, in the end. I know Camilla's got siblings who could probably step in while she's gone, but Zelda...

At the very least, her world doesn't sound like it's in danger. Still, it'd be good to get her back as soon as possible.

[Yuri's doing a bit better by the time evening rolls around, and he wanders into the kitchen with Roc and the Scyther following him, as usual. The Pokémon's new, though.]

Hey, where'd you pick up this one? I don't remember seeing anything like this.

You've my wholehearted agreement on that, certainly.

Starting from advanced positions doesn't sound like a good idea.

[He's sure he could do it, but if it's advanced...then there must be positions that are more basic. He's used to learn in order -- easy stuff first and continue on from there]

She reminds me of another princess I met back home.

It'll be good to return. I really do want to help this world if we can, but I'm starting to miss Terca Lumireis.

[It's light, but it's definitely not a joke.]

...I do miss home myself, as well. Even apart from my obligations to it, I should like to return as soon as we're able.

[And then Kiryu proceeded to hold back. Handwaving away! He went for the speedy style, focusing on hitting as often as possible, with less focus on strength, with the goal of throwing Yuri to the ground]

Yeah. I've got nothing against this world, but it's very different. I kinda doubt I could ever get used to it.

[KIRYU.... Well you know what, it's appreciated. The last time he fought without a weapon was awhile ago and he's always been better with a sword or an axe. He's absolutely getting tossed to the ground though, and once he's down he'll just end up laughing.]

Man, you really weren't kidding about being strong! It's been awhile since I had a fight like that!

[Just give him a moment to sit up and shake the sand out of his hair.]

[ Without a second's hesitation, Shirou sets off to find a suitable piece of wood. It takes him a few minutes but he comes back with a stick that's roughly the length of a katakana. Seemlessly he lines up at Yuri's side, though he's careful to give him adequate space. ]

At your lead.

[There's something satisfying about fighting. Even if he ends sore and injured, it's satisfying. Kiryu extends a hand to haul Yuri up]

If you're not too roughed up, I'd be willing to give it a try with swords. I learned how to use katanas and knives, but only the basics.

Rin! Look at this!

[Michael...well, he puts his arms under Cat Janet's forelegs and lifts the front half of her body up. But she's now long enough and heavy enough that her back legs stay exactly where they are.]

Ah - I was out near the lake entrance, and it came jumping down from a tree! Trying to pounce on Quaver here - [He gestures to the Chatot on his shoulder.] - I had to fight it off myself.

[Well, he says it smoothly and with a totally straight face.]

I don't mind—I'm familiar with rambunctiuos partners, you could say. 

[ With that settled, he closes the door once Rin enters. There's nothing really interesting to note in his room, with the exception of an empty glass vial placed on the desk next to a pokeball. On the bed is his Litleo, who blinks at Rin, seemingly alert. ]

It's strange...for all the "peace" this world has, I was more at ease having tea with the other Red Masters than I am currently. [ He pauses in his unwrapping of the lunchbox to smile apologetically. ]   That has nothing to do with present company, but I hope that goes without saying.

That sounds slightly concerning, no offence.

Yup! I happen to have a pretty good memory. Names, dates, descriptions, you got it!

[Off to Pastoria it is, then. At the hotel early in the morning, Chelsea gathers up her stuff, says goodbye to the hotel staff, and counts everyone to make sure they haven't lost any more than the two from yesterday.]

'Kay, we're good. C'mon, let's get going!

[Down Route 213, Chelsea will send her Pokémon out to train off and on. Sunflower is getting stronger, for sure, but she's also hesitating when something looks bigger or stronger than she is. Chelsea looks to the sky and thinks, petting the Maractus.]

Is it weird to be worried about you and glad at the same time?

[Later, when they stop to rest, she climbs up on a rock and looks out to the ocean.]

All these boulders are blocking off the world, huh... They must get stuff air-lifted in. Or did, when the world wasn't so messed up.

I was, too. None of the books I saw really had specific timetables for it, unless it was one of the rock ones...oh, look, her claws are deadly!

[He's crouching down and squeezing her toes to make the claws come out. Sure are big and curved!]

I get the feeling it's important to these folks.

Though I guess it's not like we could expect an honest answer from anyone else.

[Rey is both glad and utterly devastated to have to leave the resort and return to the wild; while it's nice to be back outside, she's never encountered the level of luxury she found in this place. The bed was so comfortable, and the bath...that was an experience she's sure she's not going to forget in a hurry. She's almost positive she's never smelled this good.

Spending time floating in the bath gave her plenty of time to think, though, after their dinner with Saturn. It's for that reason that she doesn't offer a word of complaint when the group moves out onto the Route, heading towards Pastoria City.

If you want to talk to Rey throughout the day, you'll find her walking along with her head buried in her book of Pokemon, flicking through the pages. She's covering the names of each species as she moves through it, muttering to herself before revealing the name with what is obviously varying levels of success. She'll act similarly whenever she walks past a wild Pokemon, saying the name out loud before looking it up in her book.]

Barbeach...? Oh, Barboach....close...

[Later in the evening, Rey has put her book away and seems more interested in staring into the fire, absently playing with the beacon on her wrist as she does so. As always, her Golett and Riolu are sitting beside her, similarly focused on the flames.]

[He smiles at the beldum for a moment before nodding at Zelda.]

Yeah. It's pretty out.

[He sighs, but it's a contented sort of noise.]

Honestly, it makes me a little homesick.

[Jake has been...weird about approaching people after the entire incident with Saturn; he's been keeping largely to himself for long stretches at a time and training his Pokemon whenever he has the chance. It's been calming, though not exactly calming enough; he still isn't sure how he feels about anything that happened, and he isn't sure how he feels about Rey and her involvement in it, but he also doesn't like the idea of avoiding her and she looks like she's thinking about something, so...]

[Jake's been largely keeping to himself lately, since the whole thing with Saturn; he's staying reasonably close to the group, though, and stopping when they do, so...]

I mean, maybe they still do. Something's gotta be keeping everything supplied, anyway.

[...Hmm.]

I mean, Cynthia was also talking about how we should do certain stuff if we have to eat the Pokemon, and even Saturn was talking about not trying to use weapons on them and he didn't seem to want to eat them at all, judging by last night.

They're pretty into rituals and principles that come out of those legends, if nothing else. So yeah, I see what you mean.

[Bucky makes a face at the mention of Cynthia's comment about eating Pokemon.]

Yeah. It makes em want to learn about the history of this place.
