Week 3.

WEEK 3 The past weekend has given people a lot to take in, and a lot to think about. You're permitted to stay at the resort all day on Sunday, should you so choose; relax and replenish yourselves with regards to sleep at least, seeing as it's much more comfortable than the routes or sleeping on the floor of the Pokémon Center. Commander Saturn is gone as of last night, and no one seems to be coming after you - though there is likely something you'll be aware of by the end of the day... Whatever happens, it's evident that you'll have to leave this place eventually, and Monday should find everyone back on Route 213. It's been repeatedly recommended to move toward Pastoria City; whether you believe the source of said urging to be trustworthy or not, it's still a good idea to move in that direction - a city means supplies, after all, a place to restock and spend a few days. Everyone should be able to find Pastoria City by Tuesday afternoon; it's another unfamiliar place, with various things to see and look at over the course of the next few days. It's far smaller than Veilstone, but it borders up to the ocean by way of a small jetty on the southeastern side of town with a few boats moored to it. Otherwise, it's surrounded by forest, and the main path winds its way lazily through town, weaving between personal residences and a few places of business. Of course, it's still not nearly as lively as it should be; the inhabitants here all seem as devoid of spirit as everywhere else; fortunately, a select few of your companions do seem to be perking up a bit - perhaps that's a good sign, in the end. [Like he was doing last week, Sena's spending most of the travels running about. He's learned from the mishap with Vee, though, so he's going at a much more sedate (for him) pace. Which means he's going slowly enough to overhear Rey muttering over her book and slows down in curiosity. Monta and Vee circle around his feet when he does so, almost like they're playing. Almost.]

[Rey turns as she hears someone approaching, a small smile coming across her face when she sees who it is.]

There's always something.

[Jake had been quiet during their dinner with Saturn, and Rey had been looking forward to speaking with him about everything that had eventuated. To her - even though the whole affair had started badly, in her eyes - the final result was worth the anger. It felt good to have direction - to have a plan.

Not that she was quite sure how to follow through with said plan, but that was what the thinking was for.]

It's been a busy few days.

Yeah, that's one way of putting it.

[Two of their number just kind of...vanishing bothers him, but it's possible they'd just struck out on their own; other than that..well, it's not too hard to work out what she's talking about.]

[ ... Zelda just happened to overhear that self-testing, and she wanted to work off her own studies she'd been doing in her room or at the pool in the hotel. Well, no, she's been doing it a lot since Veilstone, to try and familiarize herself as best she can. She might not find Beldum in any of the books so she's not quite sure about the specifics of Miphanus's talents or typing or the like, but she did want to understand others. ]

Yeah, I guess so, unless they just live off fruit and stuff they hunt now or something. Depends on whether they think it's worth the effort.

Well, it doesn't look like the economy has completely collapsed, at least.

[It isn't doing great, but it's still, you know, staggering along.]

Yeah, that's true. Guess people didn't think it was worth the effort to change their patterns, either.

Me as well, even if the sky here is different than the stars of Hyrule.

Probably a bit of both. Legends are just the truth embellished over time.

I guess that makes sense. It's not like I really know too many, outside of standard mythology shit.

You bet I won't!

[ All around, Ventus' strengths are mostly in 'speedy' and 'definitely trying not to get hit', but he's admittedly lacking in the whole strength department, so when he's struck he'll rely on sheer determination to recover.

... That being said, he's kind of rusty due to certain events (even proceeding everyone's fun time as spirit less people), so eventually Yuri will likely just earn a victory this match. Ventus is going to be picking himself right up, though, brushing off his pants. ]

Wow, you're pretty good...who taught you how to fight like that?

That was so cool! Did you see how bright it got?

[Michael's enthusiastic enough about this not to mind gushing a little in Kayneth's direction. He can get down to business pretty quick, though.]

It's hard to say. Some of them change drastically in form, but she's really just become a larger type of cat. Different pattern, but about the same coat color...I'd be surprised if she gained a type.

[He sits back on his heels and looks around, but there's no more wild Pokemon in the vicinity, given that Janet had just beaten the last one they found.]

Scratch that tree.

[Cat Janet used Fury Swipes! Man, that's a much deeper set of gouges now, she is definitely stronger now.]

Really?

[ He takes some, and passes some to his partners. ]

Do you think it's because he's becoming more lively?

[ Ventus looks at Klefki who is floating around, but when he turns to face the other man his Pokemon occasionally pokes the blond lightly with a key in a way that might be conceived as playful. The boy looks back, which makes the Pokemon stop, and Ventus tilts his head at him. ]

Barboach...it's a water and ground type. I believe it can evolve into a catfish.

Admittedly, it's not like you can really tell much about the really old ones, other than crap like, "this legendary hero probably existed at some point in time." Seeing people romanticize my unit was surreal enough, and it's not like centuries passed between then and now.

[He laughs.]

Kinda wish my buddy was here, you could probably tell you all about mythology. It never really interested me.

Yeah. I've seen a lot of it, enough to tell you we're definitely not on my planet. I don't recognize any of the star patterns.
