Week 3.

WEEK 3 The past weekend has given people a lot to take in, and a lot to think about. You're permitted to stay at the resort all day on Sunday, should you so choose; relax and replenish yourselves with regards to sleep at least, seeing as it's much more comfortable than the routes or sleeping on the floor of the Pokémon Center. Commander Saturn is gone as of last night, and no one seems to be coming after you - though there is likely something you'll be aware of by the end of the day... Whatever happens, it's evident that you'll have to leave this place eventually, and Monday should find everyone back on Route 213. It's been repeatedly recommended to move toward Pastoria City; whether you believe the source of said urging to be trustworthy or not, it's still a good idea to move in that direction - a city means supplies, after all, a place to restock and spend a few days. Everyone should be able to find Pastoria City by Tuesday afternoon; it's another unfamiliar place, with various things to see and look at over the course of the next few days. It's far smaller than Veilstone, but it borders up to the ocean by way of a small jetty on the southeastern side of town with a few boats moored to it. Otherwise, it's surrounded by forest, and the main path winds its way lazily through town, weaving between personal residences and a few places of business. Of course, it's still not nearly as lively as it should be; the inhabitants here all seem as devoid of spirit as everywhere else; fortunately, a select few of your companions do seem to be perking up a bit - perhaps that's a good sign, in the end. [Aya is taking a break from the lemonade stand to stretch her legs. When she passes by, she hears the splash and rushes in.]

Are you okay, Sena?

[She's offers a hand up.]

Oh, yes. Some are focused on the elements - things like a Fire Stone, Water Stone, or Leaf Stone. And then there's a bunch of ones for Dawn and Dusk or...Shiny. What is a Shiny Stone? Just any pretty rock you happen to find on the ground?

Michael puts the cup back and leans back against the stand.]

We have got to get these people out more.

You can say that again. It's so weird how few people are out and about in the cities.

[Thankfully by this time, Vee has pulled Sena out enough that he can brace his hands against the steps leading into the pool. He shakily takes her hand once he can push himself up.]

Ugh... [Give him a second, spitting out like. half a gallon of water.] I'mb bfine... [Pbbfft.] Thanks...

[ A new city! It's great to have a new place to explore? She does have her running bill tally that she kept about the resort and about what they spent in Veilstone. But she still doesn't have a rupee to her name here or ... whatever the thing is. So the first thing she's going to do, both to search for new information and to see if there's anything which she can do...

Her first day is going to be spent knocking on the doors of various domestic houses in the city. Asking if they have a spare bed for her to stay at, asking if they have work she can do in order to gain some rupees, and just generally getting a feel for the population of Pastoria as compared to Veilstone, if there is a difference.

Either way, it's later in the evening when she's down around the shore towards the boats, finding a table near there where she can sit, pulling a coat tighter about herself to have that as a view before she goes into wherever she settled for the day. Her actual intention is to work with her efforts to deconstruct and understand a Pokeball? She's taking her screwdriver to it again, trying to poke about on it to find the power source, now she's at least partially gotten the outer casing off it. ... Or well, that's the plan, and you might come across her doing that right up until she sees... sea slugs.

... Sea slugs coming up out of the ocean and into the city. Some sort of persistent migration up into town. ... No wait, some are going into town, and some are going out of town. ... Some sort of exchange...? ...Well, she'll be observing that, possibly even quietly following the path of the blank-faced slugs which seem to be doing little more than moving between two locations. ... But what do the slugs want in the city? Maybe there's food? ]

Hmmm... [Well that won't do, that won't do at all! Since Kiryu doesn't want Aya's lemonade stand to fail despite the circumstances, he' wants to help] Seems to me you'll need some sort of way to advertise around town. That'll get people coming.

I was told you can find shiny stones at the bottom of lakes, or so I heard. [Thanks, Ventus, your story is useful] But I'm not sure it'll be the right ones. If it's for Pokemon then they must be selling those.

How exactly do you make them evolve with those? Do you...put the stone on their heads or something?

It is pretty cool, huh? The Poké Ball, I mean. Wonder how it shrinks them?

[Yuri leads with the training he was taught while he was in the knights; it's been awhile since he last did any sort of standard exercises instead of his own modified ones, but he figures it's best to start off easy. The sword swings don't involve any flashy moves or punches and kicks, so it should be relatively simple to keep up with them. How are you doing, Shirou?]

[He'll take the hand and pull himself up, thanks.]

Yeah? Where I'm from, fighting without a weapon's just asking for trouble. Well, unless you're using magic, I guess. Even then it's best to have something on you just in case.

But yeah, I'd definitely like a rematch. Go find a good stick, I'll be ready once you get back.

[He'll go retrieve his own stick and take a moment to catch his breath.]

Really? I guess it could make a meal out of your feathery friend... Huh. Do you know what it's called?

That's pretty handy. You think you'll be able to keep up with the number of Pokémon we're going to run into?

What happened? The sign outside says 'gym', but this looks like a pool...

Do you think having one of the Pokemon help advertise would do the trick?

You're pretty good yourself. It was definitely close!

[He'll rest the stick across his shoulders, grinning.]

I learned a bit from Flynn's dad. Flynn's... He's a guy I grew up with. His dad was a knight, so he taught us the basics.

Sure thing! You mean like what types they all are and what they can learn, right? That's been easy enough so far. Even if some of the moves get a little weird.

I'm used to using a sword, so that's my preferred method of fighting. If you'd rather go with fists, I can do that too.

[He's just not quite as good. Not that he's managing the power he was used to back home here; his blastia doesn't work and that kind of hinders some of his flashier moves.]
