Week 3.

WEEK 3

The past weekend has given people a lot to take in, and a lot to think about.

You're permitted to stay at the resort all day on Sunday, should you so choose; relax and replenish yourselves with regards to sleep at least, seeing as it's much more comfortable than the routes or sleeping on the floor of the Pokémon Center. Commander Saturn is gone as of last night, and no one seems to be coming after you - though there is likely something you'll be aware of by the end of the day...

Whatever happens, it's evident that you'll have to leave this place eventually, and Monday should find everyone back on Route 213. It's been repeatedly recommended to move toward Pastoria City; whether you believe the source of said urging to be trustworthy or not, it's still a good idea to move in that direction - a city means supplies, after all, a place to restock and spend a few days.

Everyone should be able to find Pastoria City by Tuesday afternoon; it's another unfamiliar place, with various things to see and look at over the course of the next few days. It's far smaller than Veilstone, but it borders up to the ocean by way of a small jetty on the southeastern side of town with a few boats moored to it. Otherwise, it's surrounded by forest, and the main path winds its way lazily through town, weaving between personal residences and a few places of business.

Of course, it's still not nearly as lively as it should be; the inhabitants here all seem as devoid of spirit as everywhere else; fortunately, a select few of your companions do seem to be perking up a bit - perhaps that's a good sign, in the end.

CURRENT LOCATION: PASTORIA CITY
POKEMON AVAILABLE: IN CITIES / NEAR WATER

SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY | FRIDAY
[OOC: Welcome to week three of Azume; feel free to make as many top levels as you'd like and tag out to other characters! This post is for all of your interactions this week... at least until the weekend. Don't forget that a write-up is due this weekend!]

niceoppai: Bent over to look at something. (thank you it's my favourite)

evening

[personal profile] niceoppai 2018-06-19 06:37 pm (UTC)(link)
It is pretty cool, huh? The Poké Ball, I mean. Wonder how it shrinks them?
hyruglyphics: (wow me)

[personal profile] hyruglyphics 2018-06-20 12:56 am (UTC)(link)
I still have yet to tell if they are shrunken, moved about, or turned into some spiritual form. The mysteries of it do fascinate me.

[ she responds before looking up from her work to - oh! ]

Hello, Chelsea.
niceoppai: Asking Angelica what she's thinking. (neverending friends)

[personal profile] niceoppai 2018-06-20 12:58 am (UTC)(link)
Hi! Just thought I'd check out what you were doing. The technology here is so interesting! Way different from home, I'll say. The TVs are way clearer and they're all flat for some reason, but they also barely have cars.
hyruglyphics: (some other icons might be there)

[personal profile] hyruglyphics 2018-06-20 01:05 am (UTC)(link)
... I do not know what either of those are, truth told. I'm still trying to understand the power source for the lights.

[ and now these pokeballs. ]
niceoppai: Wide self-conscious laugh. (excuse me sir nice striped shirt)

[personal profile] niceoppai 2018-06-20 03:14 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, the electricity! Usually, that comes from power plants that process things like coal or the energy from waterfalls. They turn it into energy like lightning!
hyruglyphics: (I mean some look okay?)

[personal profile] hyruglyphics 2018-06-20 03:53 am (UTC)(link)
Coal? [ . . . ] How does one transform the energy of water into lightning! I would be fascinated to know! I had assumed that they had made a tremendous furnace...
niceoppai: Reading the map. (oh it's like snaké)

[personal profile] niceoppai 2018-06-20 04:01 am (UTC)(link)
It's sort of like that! Y'see, you know how if we're standing, we have potential energy because we could get up and run, but when we are running, what we're expending is kinetic energy? Basically like that, only static electricity, like what sits around in clouds before they make lightning, and current electricity. And the wiring in houses and stuff basically carries electricity from the power plant on its own current.
hyruglyphics: (Frogs!!)

[personal profile] hyruglyphics 2018-06-20 04:28 am (UTC)(link)
[ Zelda processes out the information. Okay, that actually makes sense from a framework - everything has potential energy, and movement expends kinetic, which presumably is some conversion of the potential? She resists the urge to get out her notebook and take notes but okay...

So... ]

Wiring...

Then those wires the magnetmites fed on! The reason there was lightning in there is because they carry the lightning to the houses. But then - can kinetic energy be converting into lightning...? Or static, I suppose?
niceoppai: Knowing grin. (wowity wowity wow)

[personal profile] niceoppai 2018-06-20 04:32 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, something like that! Lightning's just how the electricity flows in the air. For stuff that's plugged in, it goes through copper wires in the ground into the house, and that makes a circuit. Since metal like copper conducts electricity, see? Same as how Steel-types are bad against Electric.
hyruglyphics: (Oh wow these aren't bad!)

[personal profile] hyruglyphics 2018-06-20 04:37 am (UTC)(link)
They aren't, actually! Their weaknesses are only fire, fighting, and ground!

[ . . . Oh wait, no, Zelda's face goes a bit more pensive for a moment as she thinks back on the book. ]

... No, wait, you are right. They do not damage electric as effectively...
niceoppai: Making a teasing comment. (look at that underwear)

[personal profile] niceoppai 2018-06-20 04:39 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, some of the type advantages and disadvantages are more complicated, aren't they? Resistance without attack advantage, for one, and then no-sells like Flying to Ground, too. Pretty interesting when you get into it.
hyruglyphics: (I mean some look okay?)

[personal profile] hyruglyphics 2018-06-20 04:42 am (UTC)(link)
For someone who claims to not study effectively, your memorization isn't poor to recall that offhand.

[ She laughs and... ]

Steel was one I tried to memorize first. I've yet to find any more information on Beldums than the name Ari discovered, as I believe they are foreign to Sinnoh, but... I believe it is logical to assume they are steel types.
niceoppai: Asking Angelica what she's thinking. (neverending friends)

[personal profile] niceoppai 2018-06-20 07:51 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm just not good at the whole reading part. I try, but the letters just swim around on the page. But my memory's pretty good!

Yeah, that makes sense. Wonder why all our first Pokémon were imports? They did say they were trying to spread this no-feelings stuff around the world...
hyruglyphics: (to be using them)

[personal profile] hyruglyphics 2018-06-20 07:55 pm (UTC)(link)
My offer does still stand to read things if you want.

But I do not know. Perhaps it that we are foreign as well?
niceoppai: Eating a wafer. (is that good for you)

[personal profile] niceoppai 2018-06-20 07:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Ehe. Or maybe they were brought back from their missions to spread this to other countries.
hyruglyphics: (but will I fix all the)

[personal profile] hyruglyphics 2018-06-20 08:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes. Though they are not so far afield as to be totally unknown to this land. After all, Ari found a traveler to tell me the name Beldum, and I have been told the others found some of theirs in certain books.
niceoppai: Eye-roll of relief. (i feel like a changed person here)

[personal profile] niceoppai 2018-06-20 09:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, hmm. I figured Lemonade's a Grass-type, but she's probably from someplace way hotter than this.
hyruglyphics: (some other icons might be there)

[personal profile] hyruglyphics 2018-06-20 11:02 pm (UTC)(link)
She does resemble a cactus, after all.
niceoppai: Optimistic wondering. (yay i know my name now)

[personal profile] niceoppai 2018-06-21 01:44 am (UTC)(link)
Uh-huh. Is there a desert in your country, or around there?
hyruglyphics: (weeee)

[personal profile] hyruglyphics 2018-06-21 02:02 am (UTC)(link)
There is! Southwest in Hyrule lies the great Gerudo desert.
niceoppai: Confused by a piece of paper. (don't like the sound of explodium)

[personal profile] niceoppai 2018-06-21 02:16 am (UTC)(link)
Sounds pretty big. I mean, not planetwide like Sandvil, but big for a multi-biome planet.
hyruglyphics: (Thank you other people)

[personal profile] hyruglyphics 2018-06-21 02:27 am (UTC)(link)
-A whole ... a world of nothing but desert? Yes, it is vast, but- even so, that sounds impressive?
niceoppai: Looking confused. (some of them involve a paintball gun)

[personal profile] niceoppai 2018-06-21 02:29 am (UTC)(link)
It's kinda harsh, and no one ever comes there except to look at the sandworms and the repellent transmitters, but it's home. I'm pretty impressed when I go to places like yours, too.
hyruglyphics: (nearly at 50!!)

[personal profile] hyruglyphics 2018-06-21 02:32 am (UTC)(link)
... I am even more impressed, Chelsea! That your people are adapted to a world with nothing but sands... What do you grow, have you cultivated crops for it?

[ And sandworms... Moldugas, perhaps? ]
Edited 2018-06-21 02:32 (UTC)
niceoppai: Wondering. (there's a tire oh there's screaming)

[personal profile] niceoppai 2018-06-21 02:40 am (UTC)(link)
There's some water, but not a lot. There's mostly shrubs if there's anything, and livestock eat those, plus there are some edible flowers and other hard plants. We mostly import, though. People live in all kinds of environments nowadays. ...I kinda wonder what it must've been like on Graceland. They say it used to be a really nice place until everything there died off during the civil war.
