Week 3.

WEEK 3 The past weekend has given people a lot to take in, and a lot to think about. You're permitted to stay at the resort all day on Sunday, should you so choose; relax and replenish yourselves with regards to sleep at least, seeing as it's much more comfortable than the routes or sleeping on the floor of the Pokémon Center. Commander Saturn is gone as of last night, and no one seems to be coming after you - though there is likely something you'll be aware of by the end of the day... Whatever happens, it's evident that you'll have to leave this place eventually, and Monday should find everyone back on Route 213. It's been repeatedly recommended to move toward Pastoria City; whether you believe the source of said urging to be trustworthy or not, it's still a good idea to move in that direction - a city means supplies, after all, a place to restock and spend a few days. Everyone should be able to find Pastoria City by Tuesday afternoon; it's another unfamiliar place, with various things to see and look at over the course of the next few days. It's far smaller than Veilstone, but it borders up to the ocean by way of a small jetty on the southeastern side of town with a few boats moored to it. Otherwise, it's surrounded by forest, and the main path winds its way lazily through town, weaving between personal residences and a few places of business. Of course, it's still not nearly as lively as it should be; the inhabitants here all seem as devoid of spirit as everywhere else; fortunately, a select few of your companions do seem to be perking up a bit - perhaps that's a good sign, in the end. There are some entering the city and some leaving, but if you look in their eyes they show no more interest in anything than any other wild one. It could be ... perhaps they habitually move between the two environments for food?

Yeah, I've noticed that. Even monsters aren't this smart. Well, most of 'em. These guys really are fascinating.

And yes, I do remember reading about certain methods when it comes to Pokemon specific to this region. I'm not particularly interested in the Pokemon that evolve through that method, though I do know Huginn will need a stone to evolve... and not one of the common ones, either.

Hey, don't downplay your skills any - you've got a lot of potential! I'm not really much of a teacher, but I guess I could try to show you a few things sometimes. That was fun; thanks for indulging me.

That's true. [ She ... smiles a little sadly. ] There was - is - still so much more to do. I know Hyrule and rebuild without me, but I do still fret about it.

No idea. I mean, I hope there's Pokémon? It's a little more worrying if there isn't.

Huh, that's an interesting thought. What kind of food do you think they get from the city?

What do you think this place used to be? I'm guessing they abandoned it when everyone ended up brainwashed.

Waste products...? Parts of fruits of vegetables that people don't eat... maybe?

[Yuri enters to heal Roc and the still-unnamed Scyther after some training, and that's when he spots Camilla giving Arion a bath. He opens his mouth to say something, then pauses. It looks like she's seen enough trouble for one day, she probably doesn't want to relive whatever happened to her.]

...You need any help?

[That's the sort of question that seems like it should at least beg some sort of pause or hesitation before the answer comes; as it stands, the person who answers - the woman in charge of the household, moving to show her where supplies for cooking are - does so with about all the natural nuance and grace of a sock full of batteries to the face.]

Commander Saturn used to live here, in this city.

Good question. I mean, there was obviously something going on here.

Tourist thing, maybe?

Huh... I doubt they'd find as much to eat in the city now since most people don't seem to be out all that often... But if it's just something they're used to doing, I guess that might not stop them.

Well, that's true. I guess I meant to say is, uh, what kind? Like, similar to the ones we saw outside of town, or is it different? There's gotta be a reason why they're kept separated from everyone else, right?

That'd explain why it's not being used. I kinda doubt anyone's actually travelling now that they're all brainwashed.

...So how far in do you want to go? It looks like this place could be pretty big.
