Week 3.

WEEK 3 The past weekend has given people a lot to take in, and a lot to think about. You're permitted to stay at the resort all day on Sunday, should you so choose; relax and replenish yourselves with regards to sleep at least, seeing as it's much more comfortable than the routes or sleeping on the floor of the Pokémon Center. Commander Saturn is gone as of last night, and no one seems to be coming after you - though there is likely something you'll be aware of by the end of the day... Whatever happens, it's evident that you'll have to leave this place eventually, and Monday should find everyone back on Route 213. It's been repeatedly recommended to move toward Pastoria City; whether you believe the source of said urging to be trustworthy or not, it's still a good idea to move in that direction - a city means supplies, after all, a place to restock and spend a few days. Everyone should be able to find Pastoria City by Tuesday afternoon; it's another unfamiliar place, with various things to see and look at over the course of the next few days. It's far smaller than Veilstone, but it borders up to the ocean by way of a small jetty on the southeastern side of town with a few boats moored to it. Otherwise, it's surrounded by forest, and the main path winds its way lazily through town, weaving between personal residences and a few places of business. Of course, it's still not nearly as lively as it should be; the inhabitants here all seem as devoid of spirit as everywhere else; fortunately, a select few of your companions do seem to be perking up a bit - perhaps that's a good sign, in the end. [ The blond watches Klefki move from her spot and come closer to Michael, before looking him over. For what one can never tell (it's keys.)

The Pokemon says her name just once, seeming content anyway. ]

I think she likes you already.

[Michael flashes back to every single time Cat Janet has run off, when he just continued walking at his normal pace and just sort of figured he'd catch up eventually.]

...right. Good to stay fit.

[ANYWAY FORGET THAT THERE'S KEYS]

Did she grow like that? Or are these actual keys? [He lifts a hand to inspect a key.]

W-well, it was kinda an accident...

[It's a swimming pool. Surely there's some kinda towel or something?]

I sure hope he can. In hindsight that should have been tested before buying them.

[Kind of an oversight, yep. Daigo's rather interested in them, even though so far all he has managed to do is put one as a bracelet]

[Well that's both nice to see and very worrying, because so much can go wrong. Hm. Better talk with Sena]

Hey. Are you aware your companion is on its way to cause a fire in here?

I think it's somehow both? She was like that when I first saw her.

[ Things Ventus never thought were weird but now that he thinks about it they might be just a little.

When Michael goes to inspect a key, the Pokemon suddenly draws a little away and then begins to try to poke at his hand with said key. ]

I thought -- and still think -- that she's the perfect one for me to start off with, though.

Zelda! Guess what I got?

[ So, Ventus might have been running all over the city because he found the PokeMart, and guess what he found within the mart? Ice cream ( specifically, popsicles ).

...Granted he didn't have money, so he asked to do some things around for it, and given how people seemed rather...the way they were, the people at the store didn't have an issue. That was a fair trade, right? He thinks (and hopes) so.

He stops in his approach, though. It looks like she's busy -- ]

Or maybe I should wait until you're done with the battle?

[Sena blinks groggily, then stares down at the pile of sticks. It takes a few seconds too long for him to process what he what he was told.]

...Wait, really? [Cough.] Monta and Vee are...? [He thought they were just collecting sticks for the heck of it.]

There aren't many purposes for a bunch of sticks gathered together.

[Especially if they keep piling more and more]

Have you tried seeing if they'll eat electricity or something else? Maybe they can just eat both.

Yeah, exactly. You can learn a lot about a person from sparring with 'em.

[It's usually just about as fun as fighting the much larger and more dangerous monsters.]

[Hey, the fact that you can handle both close and ranged combat is pretty damn impressive! Yuri will eventually call for a halt before a true winner is decided, but he looks really pleased anyway.]

I haven't seen a fighting style quite like yours before - it's pretty great! You're fun to fight, Eustace.

Ouch, sounds like a pain.

[He'll approach and join her, though. Let's see here, no sore spots here, but he'll be careful anyway! It's not like being bitten would be the worst thing he's ever experienced, though he doesn't have Estelle around to heal him up immediately, so.]

...So what kind of wild adventure did you guys go on?

Well, the people in the guilds have to give up their rights as citizens of the Empire when they leave. That makes them traitors. The Empire's not too fond of traitors, and the guild members aren't too fond of being treated like they're inferior to citizens of the Empire, so they don't tend to get along.

Yeah, actually. Roc's been interested in fighting. She'll still wait for my command, but it's definitely not something my other partner does.

What about yours?

[ventulus]

[ He makes a face at that. ]

That...doesn't make sense. Just because you leave shouldn't mean you have to give up your rights and become a traitor.

[ ... ]

Do you know what being in a guild is like? Is it any fun at all?

[...If she has an adverse reaction at all, it definitely doesn't show. Hell, honestly, it seems like she agrees with him.

Though, the living situation gets a bit of an eyebrow raised.]

You raise goats? I've heard that they can be rather stubborn animals, when push comes to shove. I trust that you've had to fix your fences quite a bit?

...You don't suppose this might be some sort of maze, do you? An unconventional one, but...

[Her eyes are adjusting a bit, and honestly, maybe that is it.]

Perhaps we'll find more of those if we look around. But would you like to dry off, first?

I'm afraid I've lost my partner, dear. He decided to go after a creature we were fighting against, and now they've both gone off and wandered into this dreadful place...

I'm not even sure where to begin looking.

Yeah. They're stubborn animals that don't like change much, but they're friendly and playful if they like you.

I was told they'd be good animals for me; there's always things to do for them and their enclosure, so it keeps me busy.

[He sounds pretty happy about this, to be honest.]

[...That bird is absolutely creepy and she is just. Giving it the most side-eyed glance ever when it speaks in her voice. What the fuck.]

My little Arion. He blindly went and chased after something he was fighting against, that had decided to run away. Now he's chased it into this marsh, and I haven't the slightest idea of where they've gone...

[It's frustrating, to say the least.]

...Perhaps I am lost, but it's not without reason. Trudging around in this muck is doing me no favors.

Oh, like you wouldn't believe.

[Arion, to his credit, sniffs Yuri a bit. He's still kind of a little dead in the emotions outside of anger, but he's not biting.]

Well, Arion and I were out training on the beach this morning. We were making quite a bit of progress until one of his targets decided to try and toddle away from him. Try as I might to call him back toward me, he decided that he'd rather chase after the creature.

Naturally, I followed along, and he wound up chasing the creature into that repulsive marsh.

[She hates the marsh, Yuri. She hates it so much--]
