Week 9.

WEEK 9

The one thing Team Galactic seems to have done right in this world is perfecting teleportation technology.

The device Maylene gave Rey will get all of you back to Eterna City easily; from there, it's a matter of very briefly stocking up on supplies on Sunday before you move westward, away from the massive, imposing form of Mount Coronet and into the deep shadows of Eterna Forest.

During your brief stay in Eterna City, it's likely that you'll notice a few things have changed, as far as both the people and the Pokémon go; this holds true as you make your preparations and disappear into the forest on Monday. It's heartening, maybe, to know that once again your actions seem to have made a difference; meanwhile, the trip to Lake Verity looks to be a long one, but it isn't entirely insurmountable.

The forest itself is large and dark, covered high overhead with a thick canopy of trees; the Pokémon here are plentiful, which likely cuts down on any inherent creepiness to the place - whether that's a good or a bad thing depends entirely on your point of view. Either way, it's going to be quite the adventure trying to make your way through; here's hoping that your luck continues to hold over the coming week...

CURRENT LOCATION: ETERNA FOREST
POKEMON AVAILABLE: PLAINS/FOREST

SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY | FRIDAY
[OOC: Welcome to week nine of Azume; feel free to make as many top levels as you'd like and tag out to other characters! This post is for all of your interactions this week... at least until the weekend. Don't forget that a write-up is due this weekend!]

[Ah...right. One day he'll stop dropping terms nobody here knows.]

No. They're powerful beings in my world. But some could be considered godlike, just like the god Pokemon. That is why I tend to think of them similarly.

[ That'll be the day...nah, Ventus is totally cool about it. He's learning new things! ]

Oh. So, there's one of them that's on the same level as a god of creation...?

[ He's sure there's nothing like that on his world. Though different worlds nearby it and its entire universe is another thing entirely in which he's more unsure about. ]
thunderwolf: (♦ thinking)

[personal profile] thunderwolf 2018-08-03 10:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes.

[Doesn't get much simpler than that.]

...I won't deny that the thought of someone controlling that primal beast for the reason Cyrus controls this world's god of creation is unsettling.
ventulus: (o3)

[personal profile] ventulus 2018-08-04 12:05 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, just hearing of Cyrus controlling one god of creation to do what he did here is enough...I don't want to think about anyone else trying to do the same thing.

[ No thanks!!! ]

... Have you ever had to do go against one back at home? Like argue?

[ Or fight, but Ventus doesn't think you can really fight something like that... ]
thunderwolf: (♦ silent judging)

[personal profile] thunderwolf 2018-08-04 06:28 am (UTC)(link)
[Thankfully the person with the power to control the god of creation and destruction in Granblue land is a protagonist...

As for Ventus' question, Eustace makes a bit of a face at the "argue" part of it. It's a displeased sort of expression.]

Arguing is not my thing. I speak with my gun. [So...that's an indirect yes to fighting.] It is specifically designed to deal with volatile primal beasts.

[All of this is why he has generally stayed out of the diplomacy sessions with the guardians.]
ventulus: (14)

[personal profile] ventulus 2018-08-04 01:26 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Ventus notices that for sure. He sure did assume that the only way to deal with those kinds of creatures would be to talk it down or if anyone was "controlling" it, like Eustace referenced a bit ago. ]

...You're powerful enough to go up against those guys?

[ He actually looks pretty amazed. ]
thunderwolf: (♦ not having it)

[personal profile] thunderwolf 2018-08-04 03:22 pm (UTC)(link)
[He nods to confirm.]

It's part of my job.

[Which...is something classified back home. But again, no one here is from his world, so he's a little more willing to state that fact.]
ventulus: (94)

[personal profile] ventulus 2018-08-04 07:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Wow, really?

[ ...Ventus is still in a state of being amazed. Even with his powers as a Keyblade Wielder, he can't imagine himself going up against enemies like that.

Well, maybe if he had help. ]

...You're pretty amazing, Eustace.
thunderwolf: (♦ mild interest)

[personal profile] thunderwolf 2018-08-06 08:07 pm (UTC)(link)
[Oh... What...does he do with this.

Shrug. That's what he'll do: shrug.]

Not as effective here. [He doesn't even have his gun, and he's certain by this point that fighting Legendaries like that isn't the right choice.] Talking to primal beasts...that is Lyria's thing.

[...ah. This time he catches himself.]

She's someone from a crew I traveled with for a while.
ventulus: (56)

[personal profile] ventulus 2018-08-11 01:57 am (UTC)(link)
[ ...it's definitely been an interesting experience not having to but Ventus has found it kind of refreshing in a way.

Obviously not without it's own trials and tribulations, but still. ]

She sounds like a nice person. How did you guys meet?
thunderwolf: (♦ neutral (the default))

[personal profile] thunderwolf 2018-08-11 04:07 pm (UTC)(link)
[With a firm nod,]

She is.

[A wholehearted agreement there. Lyria is Very Good.]

We met through my co-workers. The crew that Lyria is a part of helped them out on a mission dealing with a pair of primal beasts. I was on a mission at the time of our meeting, and we were headed to the same place. So I asked for their assistance as well.

[After drawing his gun on them and testing their strength. But strangely, that part is left out... Wonder why.]
ventulus: (16)

[personal profile] ventulus 2018-08-11 05:53 pm (UTC)(link)
[ EUSTACE. ]

Oh, well it's a good thing that things worked out.

[ He thinks it is! People helping each other is always nice. ]

So wait, why do you usually get assigned jobs -- or missions -- to go after the primal beasts? Is it because there's always someone trying to control them like you said earlier... to do terrible things? Or is it sometimes because of other reasons too?
thunderwolf: (♦ stress)

[personal profile] thunderwolf 2018-08-11 07:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Going after primal beasts is one of many things we're assigned to do. My mission at that time wasn't directly related to them, but ended up involving them.

[This is all such confidential info, but...eh. The Society's a wreck back home anyway.]

They all were under control at some point, yeah. But that was long before us, and most have since become dormant. That said, some primal beasts become volatile when they reawaken. They need to be dealt with before they bring harm to nearby populations.
