Week 1.

WEEK 1. As Cynthia had promised, the sun does indeed rise the next morning. Whether you slept or not (and sleeping inside the Pokémon Center you were in before seems totally fine by the attendant), it seems Cynthia kept her word; she left sometime shortly before sunrise, and you haven't been bothered by Team Galactic and those that work for it in the interim. It isn't advisable to return to the headquarters building, however. At least not for the time being. However, a new day does dawn, and with it comes the knowledge that you're in an unfamiliar city, completely on your own. There are several things to be done before you can leave: gathering supplies and provisions, finding maps, obtaining new clothes... Of course, your new "companions" are still with you, and they don't seem willing to leave your side; they'll follow you dutifully, but they still seem...wrong, horribly so, and it doesn't seem to be wearing off. Maybe if you work with them a little...? Try to talk to them, train them, teach them to do things... Who knows? It might do them some good. Yeah. I only recognize a few constellations, but Estelle could probably pick them all out.

She's just a good friend. She's one of the people I've been travelling with for awhile, she's a real bookworm and she knows a lot about this sort of thing.

I don't know a lot about this sort of thing, but I know a bunch of the constellations and stuff. It's good to see familiar shit when you're a good distance from where you started, you know?

Yeah. It's kinda nice that it's always constant, no matter where you go.

Except here, I guess. I'm not seeing Brave Vesperia.

[Honestly, he doesn't know why either of them expected otherwise, but...]

I'm not seeing anything familiar, either. There are a bunch that really distinctive, like Orion and the Ursas, but I'm not seeing 'em.

Guess we really are in a different world.

[The Pokémon and the weird cult-like group made that pretty clear already, but he's been so focused on just moving forward that he hasn't really sat down and thought about it.

...It's really not something he wants to think about.]

I wonder if all the constellations here are based on Pokémon...

Probably? I dunno what else they'd base them off of.

They don't seem to have regular animals or monsters here, so I guess it'd have to be Pokémon. They've certainly got a lot of 'em.

Yeah... Either Pokémon or people, I guess, if any of them were important enough. We've got some that are named after people.

Oh, yeah. I didn't really read anything about the history of this world, so I've got no idea if any of 'em would be named after people.

I'd bet none of 'em are named after the guy that did this to the world. According to the screaming old man from last night there's no mention of him anywhere you'd think it'd be.

Yeah? I guess I should've checked into that... What was his name again? Cyrus?

[...Look. Kayneth made two impressions, and those were "shrieking maniac" and "congratulations on your face."]

Yeah, Cyrus. Pretty sure we had a bunch of kings named that, where I'm from, but never any that were this insane.

He certainly sounds like a special brand of crazy.

[Mmm, he's still not really sure what to make of Cyrus beyond "why this, why the fuck did you do this you absolute maniac".]

Shame that Cynthia lady's opposed to us doing anything about him. We could save her a hell of a lot of time.

Honestly? I'm not really sure what to make of that.

[It's sort of alarming that there are so many people that are Here For Murder? Holy shit.]

I want to see more of this world, learn more about what all Cyrus has done to it.

I want to see the full extent of what he's done. We've only seen a little part of it so far. There's a whole other world here, and I'm curious to see just how far his reach extends.

This isn't exactly "a little part" - how many people need to be fucked up like this before you think it's acceptable to kill a guy for it? A couple dozen? A couple thouand? The whole fucking world?

It's just something I need to see for myself. I need to give it some more thought.
