Week 13.

WEEK 13 The trip to Celestic Town is an unconventional one, though it's infinitely faster than walking and doesn't leave everyone feeling woozy in the same way that teleportation does. The town itself is a small one, though it's scenic, and there's a sort of beauty to it that's very rustic in nature; it's surrounded on both sides by mountainous routes that you're welcome to go on to both the west and the east, though it wouldn't be recommended that you venture too far out, seeing as they can be on the dangerous side for those who are unfamiliar with them. It seems Cynthia was right about one thing - there was certainly an incident at Lake Verity that went off almost as soon as you left, another of those deep pulses echoing through the surrounding area; it seems that whatever Mesprit did can be felt by the region as a whole, given that Celestic Town and the surrounding areas seem to have been affected as well despite being so far east of the lake. Cynthia herself can be found throughout the town for the duration, should anyone want to speak to her. Sometimes when left to her own devices, she can be seen in the company of a little girl who looks very similar to herself; sometimes she's with a pair of people much older. Either way, the family resemblance is strong. Lucas is here as well; he's still willing to speak to anyone that wants to, though he seems a bit subdued. Either way, it's been a long, harrowing trip so far; hopefully spending some time here will help to rejuvenate you. [ She's. Actually here to take pictures of the inscriptions, actually. using the Sheikah Slate so that she can compare them to the ones she took of the Eternea statue. That said, as she's doing this, Saber is also standing behind her. Now a huge fucking Lickilicky, the thing is just sort of staring blankly at this.

And it wants to lick the wall.

It goes to start to do that.

... Wait that might get them in trouble.

... Retracts tongue. No one saw that. ]

[Bucky can't help the chuckle when he sees the the Lickilicky attempt to lick the wall before deciding better of it.

Well, if Saber is going to behave, he's not going to say anything, instead approaching Zelda.]

Yes! they did resemble the statue in Eternea, and I wanted to compare them directly, side-by-side.

[ It's say energetically, turning to Bucky to flip to the page with the picture of Eternea's statue for him? ]

Do they?

[He peers at the images again, but can't really see the resemblance.

Maybe if Steve were here, he'd be able to point it out.]

They seem like important deities.

A little... the general body shape of both feels similar, but it's not one to one...

[ she gestures mostly at the two-legged one. And then pulls up the picture of the statue she has on her Slate? See, it sort of looks similar? Right? ]

[Huh. It does look familiar. He nods a little.]

There are a couple of things here and there, aren't there? Like maybe someone tried to depict the two of them as one creature without ever having seen them.

Oh... Oh, right, I believe I can see what you mean!

[ Interesting, actually! ]

I guess it means that even to the people of this world, running into gods isn't exactly commonplace.

[hyruglyphics]

I cannot imagine, truth told, that would be common in any world. It certainly cannot said to be in Hyrule, for all of the ancient spirits that still linger in the land.

It does seem like, in normal circumstances, a person would have been able to go on a pilgrimage to the Guardians at the very least.

Though I imagine seeing them is a different story entirely.

[ A nod. ]

The same is perhaps true of Regigigas. That temple was for it, after all, and so it is at least somewhat sedentary.

Yeah. There's probably a reason they seem to stay put most of the time; for whatever reason, they stay put. I can't imagine it's that they want to be found, exactly, but maybe people don't often go looking for them.

It is possible that audiences weren't unheard of with certain ones. After all, anyone capable of traversing the Lost Woods might see the Great Deku Tree and the Great Fairy outside Kakariko village was once well known.

Maybe there was some sort of test involved.

[He frowns.]

Actually, it wouldn't surprise me if it was something similar to what we went through with the Guardians. Probably a little less.... It's probably a different experience in better circumstances.

Certainly, I imagine situations usually are not so dire with Uxie.

[ She still... is kind of mad about all that. A useless sort of mad without a real outlet. ]

Likely not.

[He's still mad about it, too. It was horrible all around, for everyone. Especially the poor girl whose memories were ripped from her.]

[hyruglyphics]

[ Zelda seems to start to say something more and then falters. bringing the Sheikah Slate back down to her belt she shakes her head and reaches a hand out to brush the finger tips up against the carving before them. She closes the hand and she... ]

In any case... [ She has to let that drop. There's no point in lingering on Uxie. ] It feels like we've come closer to the end now.

[ In this world before Cyrus shows up and throws it all in the trash. ]

[He can't help buy nodding.]

Yeah. Maybe it's enough, just like this.
