Week 13.
WEEK 13 The trip to Celestic Town is an unconventional one, though it's infinitely faster than walking and doesn't leave everyone feeling woozy in the same way that teleportation does. The town itself is a small one, though it's scenic, and there's a sort of beauty to it that's very rustic in nature; it's surrounded on both sides by mountainous routes that you're welcome to go on to both the west and the east, though it wouldn't be recommended that you venture too far out, seeing as they can be on the dangerous side for those who are unfamiliar with them. It seems Cynthia was right about one thing - there was certainly an incident at Lake Verity that went off almost as soon as you left, another of those deep pulses echoing through the surrounding area; it seems that whatever Mesprit did can be felt by the region as a whole, given that Celestic Town and the surrounding areas seem to have been affected as well despite being so far east of the lake. Cynthia herself can be found throughout the town for the duration, should anyone want to speak to her. Sometimes when left to her own devices, she can be seen in the company of a little girl who looks very similar to herself; sometimes she's with a pair of people much older. Either way, the family resemblance is strong. Lucas is here as well; he's still willing to speak to anyone that wants to, though he seems a bit subdued. Either way, it's been a long, harrowing trip so far; hopefully spending some time here will help to rejuvenate you. POKEMON AVAILABLE: WITHIN CITIES SURROUNDING ROUTES: MOUNTAINS/ELEVATED AREAS SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY | FRIDAY [OOC: Welcome to week thirteen of Azume; feel free to make as many top levels as you'd like and tag out to other characters! [just like he was fine back in the cave
Lena, meanwhile, is a little sniffly still, but seems to be making a recovery. And starting to notice how tense her trainer is. She's...not sure what she should do with that, though?]
no subject
[He didn't think Mespirit was a huge jerk?
Anyways, Shell just kind of...decides to drop off of Sena's head for a bit. For once. So Lena gets to deal with it hovering ominously between the two trainers, although maybe it's looking at her, too? It's kinda hard to tell with those...eyes? Those are eyes, right?]
no subject
[like. that kinda happened.]
You could at least try to have some dignity.
[Lena, meanwhile is.......even more unsure now.] Hi?
no subject
It worked, didn't it? I'm not sure what's undignified about that.
[No, really. He doesn't get it.]
no subject
Of course you don't. Maybe next time you can all have a sleepover and talk about your crushes.
no subject
That's...something that happens normally, isn't it? I wouldn't be surprised if it already hasn't happened by now...
[They've all been camping together for how long now, Michael?]
no subject
[That's the last thing he needs, humans kissing all around him. He was happy enough when it was Eleanor and Chidi, but those are his friends, and...well, these are his friends too, mostly, but that was just different.]
You seriously don't see how happily providing a list of all your weaknesses to anybody who asks for it is a bad plan?
no subject
We're not exactly giving them out to everyone that asks. [Just Mesprit. And the other, uh, gods.]
Besides, it's not a weakness to feel things, or to share that you do.
[also sorry, Lena, the eldritch ghost in the shell is kinda slow to answer to things.]
You are...unwell?
no subject
[That's fine, Lena isn't sure how this should go anyway.] ...maybe?
no subject
It's the spirit of emotion. It made sense at the time...
[Sena shrugs nonchalantly.]
Besides, that's how people are. We can't really move forward unless we're together. Um...that's how it normally works, anyway...
[The Shedinja would tilt its head, but it's a completely solid shell. So its whole body leans slightly to one side instead.]
In your body? Or mind?
no subject
[Lena looks uncertainly up at the edge in Michael's voice, but responds after a few seconds.]
I'm not hurt. But everything is...different. It's different now.
no subject
[Have pity on him, Michael. He's a slightly below average high schooler.]
A-anyways, it's not something you demand out of people. It just...happens. If people are comfortable with you, they tell you these things.
[Shell...well, it doesn't nod, but one gets the feeling it must have.]
It is...more, right? There is more.
no subject
[What's even the point of this argument? There doesn't seem to be one, but Michael's upset, so by golly we're having it.
Lena nods.]
A lot more. It feels like too much.
no subject
I can't really speak for anyone else, but in my case...um, yeah.
[Meanwhile, Shell and Lena are being...a little more civil.]
Yes...it is same...for myself. And the team, also.
no subject
[Even Michael's not really sure what he wants from this, but that doesn't feel...great?]
Oh. I haven't seen any of my team. I haven't been out for...I don't know. Before we were in this place. [Lena frowns a little.] Normally my trainer lets us out a lot.
no subject
I mean...it's not like Mespirit was completely unfamiliar to us, either...they were part of the reason we escaped in the first place, right? So it's kinda like paying them back, too...
[Don't mind him, he's just rambling.]
Our trainers flew here with Driftblim. It was more convenient for them to keep you in your Pokeballs during that time.
[Shell knows, because Shell can float and therefore wasn't actually pulled back into their Pokeball during that time. Huh.]
no subject
[He's just grumbling at this point.]
Quaver can fly. Was Quaver there? He's a Chatot.
no subject
[Nervous laughter. He's humoring you.]
I think so? I'm not sure - I stayed close to my trainer since he's like...
[A glance over at Sena, who's still got a half-nervous expression on his face even though Michael's not doing anything other than being a sourpuss.]
Like that.
[Yeah.]
no subject
Are you scared, Sena?
[Lena, sensing a shift in Michael, turns to look up at him.]
Mine isn't.
no subject
[And now he's confused. He didn't expect that question.
Which, of course, only makes him more apprehensive.]
I-I-Is that a trick question?
[oh god why did he say that.]
Yes. I can tell that much.
[why are their trainers like this]
no subject
[Beyond a narrowing of the eyes, there's not much expression on Michael's face. He just seems intently focused.]
What are they doing?
no subject
[This is definitely a trick question, isn't it. Or at least some kind of weird convoluted test that Sena doesn't know the answer for.
Great. Those are the worst kinds of tests. He barely makes it as an average high school student, man!]
I'm not sure if afraid is the right word...more like, um...worried...
[While Sena fidgets with his fingers, Shell just kind of...observes.]
Not sure. Quizzing each other, perhaps?
no subject
[Whatever sort of weird awful thing this is, it is not over.]
Oh. [.....] Are you scared?
no subject
[TRYING VERY UNSUCESSFULLY AND TRANSPARENTLY TO DEFLECT.
IT'S REALLY OBVIOUS WHAT HE'S DOING.]
I don't believe so. Merely curious.
no subject
[He threads his fingers together, resting his chin on them to watch Sena rather like a cat watching a mouse.
.....he shouldn't be doing this. He wants to, it makes him feel like he's in control for the first time in a few days, but he probably shouldn't.]
I don't think I am either. [Lena is officially out of quiz questions.] I was before though.
