Week 6.
WEEK 6 One thing is going to be made abundantly clear this week: the routes you're traveling are cold. Through Monday night, you'll likely find it best to skirt around the foot of that massive mountain that lies immediately to the east of Eterna City; it looks treacherous, and while some of you may be up to the trip, it's probably best to not waste your energy before you get anywhere near Lake Acuity. The journey is going to be a long one before you get there, but the first few days will see you making good time, actually. Between that and the noticeable changes to the world, maybe it won't be so bad...? ...Or not. Tuesday morning and beyond is where the hell sets in for those of you that aren't used to or don't like the cold. The routes are full of perpetual snowfall; it isn't heavy, given the time of year, but the fact of the matter is that it's still coming down, and the snow is piled up directly on the route clear up to the average person's waist. It makes traveling slow going, though if you have a fire-type it might be feasible to clear a bit more of a path - be careful with that, though, because all the runoff has to go somewhere, and it's possible that you'll just make the path icy in the end. Either way, it's cold, due to the snowfall you're going to be wet, and traveling is going to be very, very slow; here's hoping whatever's at that lake is worth it, in the end. ...Wherever the lake may actually happen to lie; no matter where you look on the way to Snowpoint City, you won't find an entrance to it... POKEMON AVAILABLE: MOUNTAINS/ELEVATED AREAS / SNOWY TERRAIN SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY | FRIDAY [OOC: Welcome to week six of Azume; feel free to make as many top levels as you'd like and tag out to other characters! This post is for all of your interactions this week... at least until the weekend.] |
Investigation-ish
But then, in the afternoon, that's when the real shenanigans happen. Investigating pretty afield with Miphanus at her side, about three things happen at once. The first is that that scared and somewhat overly large Onix she saw several days ago now lies before here, titanic now that she's seeing the thing up close, towering over her and the Beldum. She gasps a little at it, particularly when it makes a half-hearted roar of challenge. Thinking it's for them, Zelda does get on the defensive... Right up until it's clear the battle is between it and a tiny black thing with a pink feather in front of it, also looking a little dazed, but responding to the roar with a little chirp.
Yes, Zelda ha walked into a battle of wild giant ass Onix vs wild small-ish Sneasel, and she's unsure where her and Miphanus are supposed to stand on it? Maybe you're around too, to see this insanity?
However, whatever the outcome might come from that, it's in the evening back at camp with Miphanus floating behind her as usual that anyone who didn't witness whatever happened with that battle will be in for a surprise? Namely, that Miphanus is bigger now, more complex. Namely, out in the wilds before she returned here, Miphanus has evolved. What was once an arm with one eye is now a creature with two eyes and two arms.
afternoon
[Who wouldn't be surprised at the sudden HUGE ROCK SNAKE roaring at them? Sena sure is. Enough that he tells Monta to stop what he's doing - for one thing, that Flame Wheel he was cutting through the snow was barreling towards that slowly growing fight, and damn if he doesn't want to see that.]
Wild Pokemon...fighting...each other...? [For reasons that aren't involving food or hunting, as far as he can see? He squints.]
Isn't that...one of those things that Jake caught...? [That...cat thing.]
no subject
[ Huh. That said, yes, it's a battle between two Pokemon in the wild! A battle that begins with the Sneasel taking initiative to all but vanish into the shadows and appear behind on the Onix, slashing into the stone hide of thing with it's claws. A Faint Attack, if you will. ]
But yes, it appears to be a battle!
no subject
[Sena, despite everything, is curious. It's a scary prospect, seeing a huge thing like that battle, but at the same time, he's excited!]
I don't think I've seen wild Pokemon fight each other yet...I mean, they react to Monta flushing them out and stuff, but this is different. You think they're getting some personality back?
no subject
... Shall we see how this plays out, if that is really their intent?
[ This doesn't seem like a hunt...? That said, the Onix tries to fight back! Wrapping the Sneasel... Or so is the intent before it slips out from between the coils of the rock snake. ]
no subject
[Sena motions his own Pokemon forward to watch as well.] Maybe we'll learn more about how Pokemon can fight...
no subject
[ With itself free, the Sneasel tries to slash a few more times at the Onix, which doesn't seem to do as much. There's a distinct pause before Onix kicks up some rocks below it, throwing them at the Sneasel! Once more, it dodges. ]
no subject
That small black thing...it battles pretty similar to how I've been teaching Monta and everyone else...
[Lots of dodges.] But I don't know if it has the power to fight that giant thing...
no subject
[ Or is it? The Onix attempts another rock throw, which is dodged again...
And then...
The Sneasel inhales deeply... ]
no subject
Is it going to use a different kind of attack? [It looks like when Monta breathes out an Ember attack.] You think that'll work better than the scratches...?

Afternoon
[Hi, Zelda]
no subject
I should think, but...
[ Well, the Onix goes in for a rushing tackle! Well, slide along the earth, which does spray rocks and mud and slush over towards the humans, bu the Sneasel nimbly dodges out of the way! ]
no subject
[Sneasel does seem nimble! Kiryu is paying special attention to that one, hoping not to miss anything it does]
no subject
[ the Sneasel tries to Scratch the Onix! ... It doesn't seem to pierce the rock hide of it though, and it's buffed off of the snake as it orders itself to turn around and face the cat thing again. Though the Sneasel just as quick dances around the snake. ]
evening
Noctis's eyes widen as he takes in Zelda's new friend. ]
Hey, is that Miphanus?
no subject
[ Clapping her hands together, she smiles all the broader. Metangs can emote a little better than Beldums, but it's not like Miphanus can do much more than wave its arms a little bit. Wiggle way, and look a bit more amused. ... Still no mouth, but it can make a groaning beep. ]
afternoon
no subject
[ That said, the Sneasel appears confused!cofident ]

[ Well, there's the first attack? The Onix roars again, but this time it's sharp and ear-pieces. A Screech, if you will. ]
no subject
no subject
[ Is that cruel?
Ow her ears. ]

no subject
[ Also the Data.
... that said, Miphanus does float in front of them to be defensive if necessary because wow??? I guess it's like that today.
Meanwhile, The Sneasel strikes back with it's own fading into the shadow and appearing behind the Onix! A Faint Attack! ]
