Week 13.
WEEK 13 The trip to Celestic Town is an unconventional one, though it's infinitely faster than walking and doesn't leave everyone feeling woozy in the same way that teleportation does. The town itself is a small one, though it's scenic, and there's a sort of beauty to it that's very rustic in nature; it's surrounded on both sides by mountainous routes that you're welcome to go on to both the west and the east, though it wouldn't be recommended that you venture too far out, seeing as they can be on the dangerous side for those who are unfamiliar with them. It seems Cynthia was right about one thing - there was certainly an incident at Lake Verity that went off almost as soon as you left, another of those deep pulses echoing through the surrounding area; it seems that whatever Mesprit did can be felt by the region as a whole, given that Celestic Town and the surrounding areas seem to have been affected as well despite being so far east of the lake. Cynthia herself can be found throughout the town for the duration, should anyone want to speak to her. Sometimes when left to her own devices, she can be seen in the company of a little girl who looks very similar to herself; sometimes she's with a pair of people much older. Either way, the family resemblance is strong. Lucas is here as well; he's still willing to speak to anyone that wants to, though he seems a bit subdued. Either way, it's been a long, harrowing trip so far; hopefully spending some time here will help to rejuvenate you. POKEMON AVAILABLE: WITHIN CITIES SURROUNDING ROUTES: MOUNTAINS/ELEVATED AREAS SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY | FRIDAY [OOC: Welcome to week thirteen of Azume; feel free to make as many top levels as you'd like and tag out to other characters! This post is for all of your interactions this week... at least until the weekend.] |

Nin, meanwhile, buzzes irritably and lashes out against whatever attacked it. Which doesn't go so well, because Lena's part Steel type, and what the heck can a bug/flying type like Nin do against it? Well, okay, it kinda knows Dig from when it was still a Nincada, but how the heck is a bug like Nin supposed to Dig the way it is now? Weird.
Anyway, there's the loud sound of clanging as Nin ineffectually tries to attack Lena. Meanwhile, Sena's just barely coming up the mountain trail, holding the Abra in his arms and Shell on his head, like usual.]
A-ah? Nin?! Wait!
no subject
So: it's attacking, Lena's upset, and Michael is still in a foul mood. Any of these things would have been enough reason for him to issue his next command.]
Bite!
[Lena used Crunch!]
no subject
Aaaah, oh no...I'm really sorry for this! We interrupted something, didn't we?
no subject
[Ugh, and the Duskull fled the scene. He can't really blame them...Michael sighs.]
Let it go, I guess. [Lena obligingly opens her jaws.]
no subject
[Nin vaguely buzzess off in that way that houseflies do when they're swatted and somehow manage to barely survive. It irritably tries to attack again before -]
Nin, wait. Come back here already...
[Oh, fine. But only because you're offering her berries.] Weren't you supposed to be fighting one of those purple bat things, anyway...?
[Yeah, she was. It's fainted now. Right there.]
no subject
Well, don't leave that here. I'm pretty sure it's still alive.
[Lena, meanwhile, seems to have started tearing up. Michael takes a second or two to notice.]
The battle's over, Lena. You don't need to do that.
no subject
[Buzzzz. She sure did! Although she's not happy that Lena accidentally stole the knockout blow, but what can you do?
Sena pads over to get a closer look at the unconscious Gligar, feeling a little bad for it. Also for Lena, especially when she starts tearing up.]
Oh, uh...sorry for startling you like that, Lena. Um... [sorry if you don't like sweet berries, but that's all he has. Here's a Qualot Berry???] D'ya want one?
no subject
[Lena gives a sad little mawwwwwww and goes to hug Michael's side, burying her face in his jacket. Lena was not using Fake Tears!
Michael stops talking to stare at her with wide eyes. He seems to have no idea what to do with this.]
no subject
[Sena fidgets awkwardly, spraying the unconscious Gligar with Potions so he doesn't have to pay attention to it.]
C...considering what's been happening, I don't think it's fake...
no subject
[But, uh. This sure is happening.]
Uh... [Michael winces a little, but hesitantly pats her on the head.] It's...okay. C'mere, bud.
no subject
[And Shell too, technically, but it's refusing to get off of his head. Anyways, Sena's pointing to the hyperactive cicada now.]
She keeps joining in whenever Vee and Monta start fighting, so I took her out here...
[And you see how that went.
Speaking of, that Gligar's stretching its wings right now.]
no subject
[He looks down at his crying Pokemon.]
...good?
no subject
[Forced laughter.]
Later. Just not right now.
[oh.]
no subject
Belatedly, he realizes that his obvious dicomfort with comforting someone doesn't really speak well to that whole understanding of emotion he was insisting that he had the other day. Michael narrows his eyes, looking away.]
Yeah, sure.
no subject
[Sena's not really sure if he should say this, but in the end he pipes up. Damn his irregular bursts of courage!]
I might be overstepping a little by saying this, but...um...I think you two might be able to relate to each other. Help each other a little. With, uh, this.
no subject
Whatever do you mean?
[He asks in a faintly warning tone, the kind that implies he knows very well what you mean and is sort of hoping that he can make you back down from it.]
no subject
I-I, uh, I mean...
[Hieeeeee. He's not unused to this type of glaring, but why do you have to be so scary-!]
I mean, er...Pokemon, that came from eggs, they've spent their whole time just...gradually getting feelings back, right? Maybe Pokemon we caught are old enough that they know what things were like before, but the ones that came from eggs definitely don't, so now that Mespirit's given them all back at once it's probably a huge, um...rush?
[Yes, that's obvious. So?]
no subject
[So what are you suggesting]
no subject
He feels like he's about to say something really scary.]
Um...I think having them and expressing them are...um...two different things...
no subject
[Like, uh. Anger and confusion. And anger's lesser cousin, irritation. Schadenfreude is a big one too, can't forget that!]
no subject
[Hieee...]
R...Right?
no subject
[It's a derail, but also that genuinely does not make a lot of sense to him.]
no subject
[He pokes his fingers together, not really noticing when the Gligar decides to get the hell out of dodge. The tension here is hella awkward, man.]
Plus, that's pretty much what happened when Mespirit got released, wasn't it? Look at how all the Pokemon are acting.
[Vee and Monta are still snapping at each other a small ways away.
And Nin went back to join them. Again.
Sigh.]
no subject
Sena, I am an eternal being far beyond your comprehension. I do not get overwhelmed.
[despite any and all evidence to the contrary!]
no subject
Everyone gets overwhelmed sometimes.
[He should know. He's even seen Hiruma at his worst, when Agon outsmarted them all, when at those very last few seconds before Monta revealed how he had saved them all, that quiet resignation...
He doesn't want to see that again.]
It...um. It's just that everyone gets overwhelmed by different things.
[Whether it's by something far beyond their scope...or just their own weakness.]
What matters is how they face that. [He blinks, then waves his hands sheepishly..] I-I mean, at least that's what I think is important about it...
