Week 3.

WEEK 3 The past weekend has given people a lot to take in, and a lot to think about. You're permitted to stay at the resort all day on Sunday, should you so choose; relax and replenish yourselves with regards to sleep at least, seeing as it's much more comfortable than the routes or sleeping on the floor of the Pokémon Center. Commander Saturn is gone as of last night, and no one seems to be coming after you - though there is likely something you'll be aware of by the end of the day... Whatever happens, it's evident that you'll have to leave this place eventually, and Monday should find everyone back on Route 213. It's been repeatedly recommended to move toward Pastoria City; whether you believe the source of said urging to be trustworthy or not, it's still a good idea to move in that direction - a city means supplies, after all, a place to restock and spend a few days. Everyone should be able to find Pastoria City by Tuesday afternoon; it's another unfamiliar place, with various things to see and look at over the course of the next few days. It's far smaller than Veilstone, but it borders up to the ocean by way of a small jetty on the southeastern side of town with a few boats moored to it. Otherwise, it's surrounded by forest, and the main path winds its way lazily through town, weaving between personal residences and a few places of business. Of course, it's still not nearly as lively as it should be; the inhabitants here all seem as devoid of spirit as everywhere else; fortunately, a select few of your companions do seem to be perking up a bit - perhaps that's a good sign, in the end. [In the morning, he can be found in the kitchen making coffee. He looks like hell and clearly didn't sleep at all last night, but at least he's not slinking away from people like he did after the meeting with Saturn. At his feet, Flora seems to watch what Bucky is doing every once in a while. She still doesn't seem to be really reacting to him much, but it's something.

Later in the afternoon, he can be found at the beach, clearly working out, the lack of an arm not slowing him down much at all. Even if he's been depowered, he's still clearly strong; his upper body strength is such that push-ups don't appear to be a struggle for him at all.

In the late evening Bucky can be found sitting at the edge of the pool. He doesn't look like he's in any hurry to jump in, but he does look like he's thinking hard about something.]

[...you know what, Jake's practically been living here for the past like day and a half; sometimes he swims, sometimes he just comes out here to think about stuff when the room is too weird for him, and it's one of those latter times and it looks like Bucky is here.

Jake still doesn't have a problem with Bucky at all, but he hasn't known how to approach him since the incident with Saturn; he'll try today, though. Might as well.]

Hey. You holding up all right?

[Bucky looks up at Jake's voice. He's not quite smiling, but his expression is relaxed, which is something.]

Hey. I'm doing all right. I think I'll honestly be happier when we're back on the road; I do better outside.

[He'll sit, then, so he's not just. There.]

God, tell me about it. The rooms are weirding me the fuck out and the sooner we get away from reminders of last night's shitshow the better.

Agreed.

[He looks at Jake, to the water, and then back at Jake. Clearly calculating if he should say anything at all, before he shrugs.]

Indoors, it's harder to find a means of egress. I'm not a fan of it.

[There's a reason he keeps his door locked whenever he's in theroom.]

[...yeah, he can get that.]

...For me it's more that I don't remember the last time I actually had a room. I sleep outside, or on the ground, or I just...don't sleep, I guess. It's weirding me out, actually having somewhere like that to myself and not involving five other people and everyone's on the floor.

Beach

It's not often I meet someone as strong as you despite lacking a limb.

[Losing a limb could mean your doom in the yakuza business, which is why nobody stays in the clan if that happens]

[Bucky stops, rolling so he's on his knees before he sits in the sand. He manages to make the motion look graceful.]

My left arm is a weapon. I don't need it if I'm not in an active combat situation.

Not surprising they took it away from you, then. [A lot of people's belonging are gone, of course a weapon would be one of them]

[He actually looks a little offended.]

They didn't take it from me. I wasn't in a combat situation before coming here, so I didn't use it. I don't need or want it.

...hm. I'm sorry. Is that a touchy topic?

[Kiryu isn't sure if Bucky is offended, or if he's upset about not having the arm, but he does notice Bucky's mood soured a bit]

Pool

[ . . . Oh, that's Bucky, isn't it?

Honestly, she's felt a little bit weird ever since that had that one argument on Tuesday and then it turned around to something else entirely on Saturday and the whole thing was just complicated.

But she had liked his council and insight before then and there's no reason to feel weird now. She's been looking for Eru for a bit but having not seen her since she retreated to the room earlier, she sort of hums and decides to go over towards her. ]

Bucky, would you mind if I sit?

[semistableman]

[Bucky flashes a smile at Zelda, waving at her.]

Not at all. It's pretty relaxing out here.

[But that's probably because he finds the hotel stifling.]

I agree. Last night, the moon seemed so bright, reflected in the water.

[ and she loved to see it.

She takes the seat then, Miphanus the Beldum floating behind her as always. It can't sit so it sort of... floats there near her still. ]

[He smiles at the beldum for a moment before nodding at Zelda.]

Yeah. It's pretty out.

[He sighs, but it's a contented sort of noise.]

Honestly, it makes me a little homesick.

[ . . . Mmm. ]

Me as well, even if the sky here is different than the stars of Hyrule.

[With a similar goal, Eustace (with Rose in tow) enters while Bucky is making his coffee. He regards Bucky with a nod.]

Morning.

[Just morning, because it sure is a morning. Not really a good one, after all of that. He sure didn't blame Bucky for slinking away- he wasn't very talkative himself.

He notes that the coffee pot's in use.]

Mind if I take a cup of that?

[Bucky waves in greeting.]

Morning.

Not at all, help yourself.

[It's more than enough coffee, after all.]

Thanks.

[Sometimes it's a multiple cups of coffee kind of day, so it doesn't hurt to check. Either way, he fishes out a mug and pours himself some coffee. As he does this, Rose peers out from behind him to study Flora from afar.]

...Long night, I take it.

[It wasn't difficult to spot how exhausted Bucky looks. Considering what went down, Eustace figures it might be good to check in.]

[Bucky nods, not really giving much in the way of information, but not denying it either.]

Yeah. Nothing new, though.

Pool

[Camilla's found herself coming by the pool in the evening since she came here; it's a good place to look at the sky, if nothing else. Of course, finding someone else where is a little surprising, but...]

Bucky? Are you quite alright?

[Bucky looks up at being addressed. He doesn't have much of an expression on his face, but he does wave in acknowledgement.]

Doing all right. Today was a little.... stressful, wasn't it?

[anythingforyou]

...Stressful is a light word for it, certainly.

[Camilla does at least smile softly at that, taking a seat--not too close, but not too far away either.]

I take it it's troubling you quite a bit, then?

To be honest, a lot of things as troubling me. It's nothing new.

But I'll be fine; at least we're getting a move-on soon.

Ah, I take it that you far prefer being in a city compared to the likes of this? Or is it simply this location itself?

[She. She kind of gets it either way, man, and there's definitely no judgement from her; she's pretty sure they're all looking forward to leaving this damn place behind very soon.]
