Week 14.

WEEK 14 Sunday is a rough day all around; it's for the best that you remain where you are for the day, for the sake of regrouping and recovering, and perhaps getting some sleep - assuming that any will come. However, as difficult though it may be (and as futile though it may seem) Monday is likely best seen as a day to depart - a day to start to take whatever actions can still be taken, and to assess where to go from here. A good place to start is Canalave City; it's where you were going to meet with Cynthia, and where you were planning on looking into the legends of Sinnoh. The city itself is beautiful, a massive port town split down the center by a large canal system filled with boats and clear water leading out to sea; however, the recent changes to the world have affected this place as well, perhaps making it a bit difficult to enjoy the city in its entirety. However, the library is here, as are several other points of interest; as difficult though it may be to see the world like this, the trip here will hopefully be worth your while in the end... [Yuri's been restless since arriving, but he's had a hard time finding something to take his mind off of... well, everything that's happened. He's out wandering the city when he notices Jake up on the bridge. It doesn't take him long to figure out how to get up there to join Jake, and he flops down nearby easily.]

[He'll just watch as Yuri comes up without comment; he doesn't try to help him, but he doesn't tell him to knock it off, either.]

Yeah, it's not too bad. Seen better, but I've definitely seen worse.

Yeah. Not quite as nice from the view up on the ship when Ba'ul's carrying us, but it's better than I've seen in awhile.

[Which is... really weird to think about. How are Ba'ul and the others doing? Are they doing okay after the Adephagos was unleashed?

We had this huge bridge back in Edonia, the view was fucking great from up there. It's all mountains and stuff, the place I'm thinking about had ways to get right up on the face of this giant cliff over a ravine. Nothing but you and the edge out there; call of the void at its finest.

The Americans took out the bridge, last I knew, but all the walkways and stuff along the cliff are still there.

[That doesn't answer the question, but it's something to talk about.]

[It's not really something he talks about, actually missing the place; it's true, though, even though he tries to shrug it off and seem casual about it.]

Edonia's kind of a mess right now; even outside of all the bioterrorism bullshit, there's been a civil war going on for a while. I'm part of the Edonian Liberation Army back there; we're trying to take the government back from the people that are currently in charge. Too much pandering to the westerners, not enough focus on changing the shit that actually matters. We want to be out own goddamn country, not relying on the favor of the Americans, you know?

[Also fuck democracy, our communist asses are fine as they are, but that's a little harder to explain.]

So it's kind of a shitshow right now, but it's...I dunno. It's a beautiful country when it's not being torn up. The people are good there. I've lived there my entire life, and I wouldn't trade it for anything. So...yeah.

I think I can understand that. You do what you've gotta do to make sure things are being handled well. It sounds like a pretty great place.

[bloodspent]

It's really not, but it's home anyway, you know?

[He likes it, okay, even if it's a trainwreck.]

Hah, yeah, I feel you. The lower quarter's like that too. I don't think I'll be headed back there for good, but I'd like to see everyone there again.

[bloodspent]

Yeah, I get it.

Yeah, I am. It's not exactly easy, but I think most of us are having a bit of a hard time with it.

...How are you doing?

[He shrugs at that.]

Doing all right. This whole thing is still kind of bullshit, but that's how it's going to be, I guess.

[fatalstrikes]

We'll make it through. Not like we've really got much of a choice now, yeah?

[bloodspent]

Yeah, something like that.

Still not feeling too much about it. It's probably better that way.

I guess you could argue that not feeling much about it probably isn't a good thing, but honestly? As long as it keeps you on your feet and able to focus on stuff, I think it's fine.

If you do start feeling anything, you can always come talk to me. Hell, if you don't feel like talking, we can spar instead.

I'll keep that in mind, yeah. I don't know, I'm mostly just trying to keep an eye on everyone right now.

It's good of you to look out for everyone. Some people really need it right now, yeah?

I dont know if I'd say it's all that good. They just need it more than I do; I've dealt with world-ending bullshit before.

You don't have to thank me for it. It's like I've been telling the others, it's not like I'm a good person or anything. There's just shit that we need to get done, and we can't do it if we're all falling apart.

Yeah, definitely. It's good to have people who will do their best to look after everyone. We're a pretty tight-knit group, so I think we'll be able to look out for each other fairly well.

[bloodspent]

Yeah. We'll figure ourselves out eventually.

We will. It'll be difficult for awhile, but I really don't think any of us are going to give up now.

[bloodspent]

Yeah, I know.

[He goes quiet at that, though; it's going to be fine and he knows it, it's just...not okay for right now, for whatever goddamn reason. Something he'll sort through eventually, probably.]
