Week 14.
WEEK 14 Sunday is a rough day all around; it's for the best that you remain where you are for the day, for the sake of regrouping and recovering, and perhaps getting some sleep - assuming that any will come. However, as difficult though it may be (and as futile though it may seem) Monday is likely best seen as a day to depart - a day to start to take whatever actions can still be taken, and to assess where to go from here. A good place to start is Canalave City; it's where you were going to meet with Cynthia, and where you were planning on looking into the legends of Sinnoh. The city itself is beautiful, a massive port town split down the center by a large canal system filled with boats and clear water leading out to sea; however, the recent changes to the world have affected this place as well, perhaps making it a bit difficult to enjoy the city in its entirety. However, the library is here, as are several other points of interest; as difficult though it may be to see the world like this, the trip here will hopefully be worth your while in the end... POKEMON AVAILABLE: WITHIN CITIES SURROUNDING ROUTES: PLAINS/FOREST / NEAR WATER MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY | FRIDAY [OOC: Welcome to week fourteen of Azume; feel free to make as many top levels as you'd like and tag out to other characters! This post is for all of your interactions this week... at least until the weekend. Don't forget that a write-up is due this weekend!] |

He'll spend some time looking up at it, hand shielding his eyes from the sun for a moment before he simply seems to decide, and before he can think about it too long he's halfway up the supports and then it's just a matter of jumping up and climbing the rest of the way, and long story short he can be found sitting up there for a good long while, just hanging out on top of the structure like he's not liable to fall and break his fucking idiot neck from up there. He's there because it's reckless and it's stupid and who knows, maybe he'll fall and get to experience what a broken back is like, and that would suck but at least it would be different, and he hasn't thought like that since Ada offered him money to shoot himself up with medical experiments, has he.
Granted, he can't stay up there forever; if he's not up on top of the bridge (or jumping down a short ways from it to end up on top of Byron's gym, that's also a thing he'll be wandering around on top of for a little while), he can be found in the Center, where he'll likely be staying for the rest of the day. He's still alone, his Pokémon kept up and away in their Pokéballs; it's likely a bit weird, given his usual insistence on physically carrying at least one of them and letting the others do whatever they want, but he hasn't let them out since the whole...Cyrus thing. Maybe he's got his reasons, maybe he doesn't; either way, as night falls (even if time itself still doesn't seem to have budged since that entire fiasco) he doesn't show any indication of settling down to sleep. He'll be up all night again if no one stops him; someone's got to keep an eye on everyone, after all.]
bridge
Hey. Nice view from up here.
no subject
Yeah, it's not too bad. Seen better, but I've definitely seen worse.
no subject
[Which is... really weird to think about. How are Ba'ul and the others doing? Are they doing okay after the Adephagos was unleashed?
...He doesn't really want to think about that right now.]
What brings you up here?
...sigh
The Americans took out the bridge, last I knew, but all the walkways and stuff along the cliff are still there.
[That doesn't answer the question, but it's something to talk about.]
it's okay i'm sure you'll get yeager at some point
[...]
Do you miss it? Edonia.
no subject
[It's not really something he talks about, actually missing the place; it's true, though, even though he tries to shrug it off and seem casual about it.]
Edonia's kind of a mess right now; even outside of all the bioterrorism bullshit, there's been a civil war going on for a while. I'm part of the Edonian Liberation Army back there; we're trying to take the government back from the people that are currently in charge. Too much pandering to the westerners, not enough focus on changing the shit that actually matters. We want to be out own goddamn country, not relying on the favor of the Americans, you know?
[Also fuck democracy, our communist asses are fine as they are, but that's a little harder to explain.]
So it's kind of a shitshow right now, but it's...I dunno. It's a beautiful country when it's not being torn up. The people are good there. I've lived there my entire life, and I wouldn't trade it for anything. So...yeah.

Normally, Bucky would be outside camping, but, well... after everything they've been through, sticking with the group even if it involves being in cramped spaces he would usually avoid only makes sense.]
Doesn't feel real, does it?
no subject
Doesn't really feel like much of anything, if you ask me.
[He shrugs a bit.]
Everyone else seems more fucked up by it than I am.
no subject
[He shrugs, but it's deadpan enough it's probably an attempt at being funny.]
When I broke free of HYDRA's programming, I fled to Romania. Picked the country at random; I could speak the language well enough to sound like a native. Living like that was... pretty surreal, honestly. But it didn't feel anything like this.
no subject
[Jake.]
So we haven't had anyone succeed yet, but we've had three people so far put forth a really good effort.
no subject
Bucky can appreciate that sort of reaction. It's dark, and hell, it sounds like Jake's world is one windstorm away from total collapse, but so it's Bucky's honestly.]
Apparently aliens attacked New York City, and nearly leveled it to the ground in 2012.

...Jesus, you people get to have all the fun.

All in all, it's a normal noisy evening for this crew, maybe noisier than usual thanks to how...still...everything is. If Monta's protesting is a little louder than usual, if Nin is a little more restless...Sena can't really begrudge them that right now.
The thing is, Portus teleported near where Jake is hanging out, so when Sena inevitably comes to corral his wayward psychic he can't help but talk to the man.]
Jake...? [Sena hesitates. Something seems kinda...not off, exactly, but not Completely Fine either.] Er...sorry, did I interrupt something...?
no subject
You're not bothering me or anything, it's fine. It's good to see 'em being so active.
no subject
[Quiet.
He can't bring himself to finish that sentence.]
no subject
[Awkward.]
no subject
I...er, um...
[He's starting to realize why things around Jake feel so...off. He looks...lonely.]
I haven't seen Hl...Hela...
[He can't remember how to say the name.]
...Pants. I haven't seen Pants recently...
[he's...so sorry...]
no subject
Hlača. He's... I've been keeping him in the ball lately.

Oh, Jake. That's... ]
Oh! Jake. We never did get that photo.
[ It's a weird time to recall it, but. She looks out of it too, like perhaps she was up literally all night studying the books. ]
no subject
[He shrugs a little; he hadn't forgotten about it, it just seems like they discussed it such a long time ago. It's weird.
The end of the world probably does that.]
You doing okay?
no subject
[ She's still... determined to do something but it's really hard and... well, whatever. She makes to march over to sit next to him. ]
-- Did you have a means of taking a photograph? ... Oh, and yourself? About- how you're doing?
