Week 2.
WEEK 2. The new week begins with new surroundings. The city you've been growing accustomed to over the past week is now well behind you as you set out on your journey proper; the terrain still seems rocky and steep here as you move downhill and to the south, dotted here and there with small ponds to the east and rocky outcroppings that you can climb on to the west. There are also large expanses of tall grass here, and the entire route is flanked with tall trees leading off into the forest a short ways. You're more than welcome to explore; just don't stray too far from the group - you wouldn't want to be left behind out here, for any reason. Wild Pokémon are abundant here, as anyone venturing into the tall grass will discover; they aren't inclined to attack you, however, simply watching with dull, dead eyes as you stumble through the area they've come to call home. The trip is difficult, and it's a lot of walking, but it's not unmanageable; fortunately enough, the route you're on should lead you directly to Valor Lakefront, assuming there are no complications along the way. From Thursday and beyond, the route takes a sharp turn west; in front of you lies what's clearly the ocean, large rocks jutting out just offshore tempering the waves. It's safe to go in the water if you so choose - assuming you can swim, that is - and the forested terrain has given way to a large beach with patches of tall grass here and there. Interestingly, there's a house located on the beach; whether it's inhabited or not is difficult to tell. Of course, exploring slightly north of the beach will reveal a path. Maybe it leads somewhere important... POKEMON AVAILABLE: NEAR WATER SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY | FRIDAY [OOC: Welcome to week two of Azume; feel free to make as many top levels as you'd like and tag out to other characters! This post is for all of your interactions this week... at least until the weekend. Don't forget that a write-up is due next weekend!] |

... She can't help but giggle at the sight. ]
Oh, but you really are a silly one these days!
[ But you know... what if... Searching for the ancient heroes of the past was the wrong way to look at it, wasn't it? And as such, she grins and, ]
Little one... how do you feel about the name Vah Miphanus?
[ Because the Beldum is small, quiet, because it says little, but is always attentive. Because it seems to always want to be by her side. ... It might not be perfect, but from the way the eyeball moves, Zelda gets the impression it is okay with that name. And so, with that in mind, she smiles back. Vah Miphanus. That shall be this little one's name.
With that in mind, Zelda and Miphanus remain near the shore for much of the rest of the early morning, collecting what shells and other items of forage she can find in the sand line. There's a lot less here than if she was in the forests, but there's no helping that. She collects more and more in the pack, taking pictures of some others. She does notice the curious orange and blue fish along the shoreline, wondering if perhaps they ought to try to catch some in order to make a roast for the others...? But it's with that in mind that, around noon, on the edge of a large rock formation overlooking the ocean, she comes across a curious sight.
... Namely, a strange creature who seems to be doing some fishing of its own. A long, pink tongue dangles out from the thing's mouth into the water below, as if expecting the fish to bite on it. She stares with some naked awe for a long moment and... uh. You know what, you know what. She takes out one of those Pokeballs and - well, before she manages to throw the ball at the thing, Miphanus has floated over towards the tongue, with the thing - well. It proceeds to try to eat the more Beldum, wrapping it up in its tongue. That... uh. That sure is a thing to see on a blank faced pink thing? ]
Unhand - untognue them!
[ And thus, the battle begins. ]
[ A battle that she'll finish by way of catching the new team member which means in the evening she's going to be back at camp with both Miphanus and Lickitung hanging out here as she tries to ... roast mushrooms. A lot of the mushrooms that she collected earlier she is roasting over the fire here. As she's doing this, the Lickitung is trying to lash it's tongue out towards said food, and Zelda needs to discourage her, and ]
Please, slow down! I haven't even confirmed all of these are non-toxic...
evening
That's one hungry looking animal.
no subject
[ The tongue once more goes towards he fire and therefore the mushrooms, and as it does, Zelda sighs a little bit and lifts up the mushroom skewer. Which results in her tongue toughing the flame briefly. Not a fan of that, it recoils immediately. Ow. ]
no subject
That's more reaction than he's gotten from either of the animals he has.]
I guess she's hungry.
no subject
[ . . . But Zelda, being a nice person, sticks the skewer into the sand and makes sure to not have the mushrooms get messed up and rummages in her bag in order to find a potion and holding out her hand for the other. ... Which gets a blank stare but she implores and the thing dumbly opens her mouth...? ]

around noon
He's finally given up on getting the Scyther to do anything but just sort of awkwardly follow him, and he's approaching Zelda when the pink Pokémon wraps its tongue around Miphanus.]
...Uh.
[Wow. Usually he's pretty quick to come up with something to say, but this is. Certainly something else.]
Is it... trying to eat your partner...?
no subject
[ Not that this bothers the Lickitung, who is as blank as any other pokemon other than an insatiable hunger. It desires to devour.
... and so it tries to "chew" the Beldum by slurping it down more with it's tongue. Given the size difference, the Beldum fits awkwardly into it's mouth, but it does fit... sort of...
Zelda meanwhile is trying to start climbing the rocks to get up to the thing ]
no subject
[He'll reach out to try to grab her arm, to at least get her to hesitate a bit.]
What if it tries to eat you? Your partner's made of metal, so it'll be fine, but who knows what'll happen if it sets its sights on you?
[Do Pokémon eat people?? Hopefully not, but.]
no subject
[ ... Not that the Beldum seems to be struggling at all.
It's kinda deadeyed mechanically so like. Maybe an issued order would help? It's just kinda like "Ah, I see, this is what vore is." ]

Noon
[not like you can eat a giant floating hunk of metal, right?]
no subject
[ Because wow no??? She looks a little hurriedly up at the scene of the Beldum being coiled down the mouth of the Lickitung. It's a surprisingly bulky pink thing, it does at least get the hunk of metal into it's mouth. Wow. ]
no subject
He's made of metal, but okay. Cat Janet, let's do that thing we've been practicing.
[The Purrloin trots up obediently. He leans down, picks her up, and
just sort of throws her at the Lickitung's head like a fastball, holy shit]
Scratch it!
no subject
[ But hey, I mean.
It's a distracted giant blob of pink. Unless Michael's aim sucks, it's pretty hard to miss it. ]

Yeah, hopefully Zelda isn't too shocked when Camilla comes running and her own partner follows suit--]
Arion, bite that wretched thing! Rush forward!
[Arion takes a quick sniff of the air, and is off quickly enough to try and bite that Lickitung in the arm! Hopefully that thing is somewhat distracted by it's current meal...]
Zelda! Zelda, are you alright?
no subject
in a very bland way. ]
... Thank you, Camilla. Miphanus remains trapped though.
[ So she's sort of... like... resisting the urge to go get involved personally. ]
no subject
I was hoping that thing would drop your partner while it was distracted... [Shit, how do we get a plan B going here--to Arion's credit, he's not letting go, if mostly because this stupid Pokemon's starting to tick him right off, but. Buh.] Arion, let go--try to tackle that beast instead!
[It's a good thing he actually listens, because he is going to release the Lickitung--only to try and rush forward to tackle it down in anger. Maybe brute force try two will work??? Stay tuned]
no subject
[ Except not really, the eyes are as blank as anywhere else? Right now, it just desires food, all the food. It hungers. And with that said, the tackle does connect! But it's fat belly stands firm, with it standing there in its own head!!
... But that does loosen the grip of it's tongue enough for Miphanus to fly out, or start to ]

Evening
Oh, those ones are fine. [Still feeling a little chilly from her dip in the ocean before, Rin joins Zelda by the fire, sitting across from her with a small sigh of satisfaction. Ahhhh, warmth.] Monkey and I ran into ones like those a few days ago, and I tested them. They're pretty nice when cooked.
no subject
[ She nods with some satisfaction then and looks at the skewers and at the Lickitung's face... the giant pink thing looks at Rin briefly and back at Zelda as Zelda just continues the potion. ]
Then one of those shall be mine and Miphanus, and one skewer shall be yours, alright?
[ she says to the pink thing, spraying the tongue.
Which is shivers at, that tastes weird. ]
no subject
[Wait, she's getting that whole skewer to herself? Zelda and her Beldum seem to be splitting the other, but—woo, there goes the tongue. It's so unexpected, Rin's eyes go wide just before she fails to restrain a few snickers.]
Wow, it just inhaled that! [She tries to cover up her giggles with a hand.] It's like watching Saber eat in slow-motion.
no subject
Wait. ]

in the evening
[...look, he's in very good spirits because he feels cleaner than he has in a week, so he's just gonna sit down there...]
But really, I would think that something that leaves its tongue hanging out all the time would have to have some poison resistance, wouldn't it?
no subject
Hungry.
... That said, she smiles up for Kayneth and, ]
Would you like some? I have confirmed that some of these are safe.
no subject
[He sits down and gets comfortable, then!]
I'll admit, I still haven't gotten the hang of cooking outdoors myself... much less cooking in general... but at least nobody's depending on me for that, I suppose.
no subject
Careful, it is quite hot.
[ But all the same, she starts to divide them between herself and Miphanus otherwise. ]
In terms of cooking at it camp, it is not difficult, if you would want me to help direct you.
